This something that I did not notice, but Avalos did not write a public farewell to the Ducks, and none of the players or Mario have publicly wished him well at Boise?  There is a story there...

 

Arroyo left last year and took no Oregon staff with him. 

Avalos leaves and is taking some support staff with him. One of the assistant strength coaches is going to Boise with Avalos and some office staff as well. 

Could be a bit of bad blood there. Who knows?

I'm probably not remembering well, or maybe just not as connected, but I don't remember a whole lot of good bye's and public well wishing in past departures.
