UCLA DC and former Oregon DL coach Jerry Azzinaro has resigned

 

 

And the Bruins OL coach is off to Ohio State. If Chip had a hope of a contract extension its was widely presumed that Azzinaro had to go.

 

1/16/22 Chip's buyout falls to $0.00. UCLA athletics is $40M in the red.

 With the Riley Rocket at USC, and UCLA basketball winning. I don't see a big name coach interested in the job. Chip is there next season if he wants it. 

Chip was good from '07 to '12, and at New Hampshire.   Doubt he goes back to 1AA or some division 5 school.  I think he gets more money in the booth broadcasting.

Azz needed to go. Justin Frye to Ohio State is a loss. Excellent recruiter and OL coach. Chip is the OC. Chip likely re-ups.  DTR does not stay for his super senior year unless Kelly is staying. They are really tight. Anything could happen but it looks like Chip will get a new deal. Press is making things look horrible at UCLA. They have landed some nice players through the portal with more on the way.

DTR is a downgrade in my mind.  He should be much better and has plateaued far too much.  He's a liability to their chances... Can't win games for the Bruins against the best.
