Charles Fischer Administrator No. 1 Share Posted March 14, 2022 (Oregon Athletics Press Release) EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon men's basketball team earned the No. 5 seed to the 2022 National Invitation Tournament and will travel to face fourth-seeded Utah State on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the opening round. The game will air on ESPN. The Ducks went 19-14 in the regular season, finishing 11-9 in Pac-12 games. Utah State finished 18-15 and 8-10 in the Mountain West. This is the sixth meeting between the teams and first since 1965. Oregon leads the all-time series 3-2. Oregon last played in the NIT in 2018 and holds an overall record of 14-12 in 11 NIT appearances. The Ducks have reached the NIT Final Four in New York on three occasions: 1975, 1999 and 2004. 1 Mr. FishDuck
Pennsylvania Duck Moderator No. 2 Share Posted March 14, 2022 I don't know if I am happy or sad about this. I have no confidence that they can pull it together for a run. Of course I will root for them.
Jon Joseph Moderator No. 3 Share Posted March 14, 2022 Travel to Utah State makes sense. The MW put more teams into the NCAA tourney than did the Pac-12. But for Oregon to have to go to Logan for a post-season game? This simply hurts. Go Ducks but Come on Man! 1

ICamel No. 5 Share Posted March 14, 2022 KenPom has Utah State ranked 44th with Oregon at 79. Not a good matchup? For comparison USC is 42nd and WSU 55th. 2022 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings KENPOM.COM
savagefund No. 6 Share Posted March 14, 2022 Utah State has been up and down just like Oregon this year. They have a loud and crazy fan base that supports their basketball team really well. Kind of a western Cameron Indoor Stadium.
savagefund No. 7 Share Posted March 14, 2022 Also not the easiest place to get to from your neck of the woods. If the weather is good it will be a 90 minute drive from the SL airport provided traffic isn't a mess.
