Saban--Current State of College Football Not 'Sustainable'

Recommended Posts

Although this has been discussed previously, sometimes ad nauseum, here is another voice.  However it is a new article, so we may discuss it to our satisfaction.  The new rule (31c) was meant to stop steering most threads to the extreme negative of what "may" happen, or will not happen for at least three years to OBD. So, since this is a new article--discuss as usual.

Alabama coach Nick Saban is concerned about the current state of college football.

Of course, he is always angling for himself.  Remember when he wanted to outlaw the hurry-up for "safety reasons".  And, calling for a change in SEC scheduling that he knows will only take place after he is gone.

I pretty much agree with everything he says. I believe the Ducks Division Street will help the Ducks stay away from the prima donna's out there who are just looking for the money.

He is in a long line of those, including Dabo Swinney, who believe that CFB as currently structured is not sustainable.

You simply cannot ignore the impact that NIL and unrestricted free agency is having on the money ball sports, basketball and football.

Add W VA basketball coach Bob Huggins to the list. He wants consolidation and a 32 team basketball tournament that will not spread the money asunder.

Our Pac-12 commissioner has asked the member schools in the Pac-12 to step up and spend more money on CBB and CFB. But how many will or can do so?

Isn't there a NCAA committee for each division right now working on these topics?
