Stanford and Auburn are in the other Semi-Final...and all four play later TODAY to determine tomorrow's championship finalists.

How they do golf for the championship is definitely unique to the NCAA.  First four days, team score, then the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals are match play.  Match play makes it interesting.  You could have played the overall course with not as good of a score, but only need to win enough holes to actually win the match.  The Oregon women have been playing great golf all season, so I like their chances.

How the quarterfinals ended up:

Stanford vs Georgia 3 & 2

Auburn vs UCLA 3 & 2

Texas A&M vs FSU 3 & 2

Oregon vs San Jose St.  4 & 1

If I understand this correctly....Oregon is leading in three of the five matches going on with Texas A&M?

The least number of holes played has been nine with one match having played 12 holes, but Oregon is leading in three of the matches, tied with one, and trailing in another for a 3-1-1 lead thus far.

Crunch time coming!

Two women have completed 11 holes, and one after 12, after 13, and after 14 with the Ducks leading 3-1-1 over the Aggies.

They are showing the matches on the golf channel.

Ducks take match 1.  2nd match they are up 2 with 2 holes to play.  They are up in 3 of the 4 remaining matches.

Stanford was struggling, but has started to turn it around.  However, it is still up in the air.

Oregon has won a second match, and needs one more.  But with one holes left...the Ducks are down one stroke in one match, and with three and four holes left--two Ducks are leading by only a stroke.  Whew!

Mr. FishDuck

Ducks got the 3rd point and advance.  They are also winning match 5.

Most golf courses try to keep Ducks off the course. Nobody can catch these Ducks!
