Yeah Baby! 'It’s Not the Way We TALK, It's About WHAT WE DO'

Recommended Posts

Geez I love this...puts all the pressure on himself over performance, not talk.  Whew!  (Coach Wilson Love is in this video, but he is repeating what Coach Lanning has said)

Did Lanning kill-it with this staff or what?

Football gets real at this level. Absorbing hits at full speed by these guys could end up being a very bad day.

Imho this is the best philosophy of life. It keeps you grounded.

Which do you like better this one or Chips "Win The Day"?

I vote Lanning's. "Win The Day" comes out smooth, and I agree winning every game is important. But I never really cared for the "Faceless Opponent". Opponents are not the same. A team is really good when they walk into a game on the road and the hostility feeds them energy, nothing sweeter than taking the enjoyment out of the crowd in a road game.

So there are different level's and mood's for each game on the schedule. The bar needs to be set high and consistently reached. But, and Holtz knew it was malarkey when he'd say, "We'll have to play our best," when Notre Dame was playing some 1-6 team. You take care of business, but the team and the fans know that all opponents aren't the same.
