Why wouldn't they use these in games if it offers safety? I would think these may help with cutting down on concussions.

I'm sure someone has already floated that idea. The counter is it will make players feel like they can lead with the head and be safe.

 

If we see it, I suspect it will start at the youth level first as concussion for kids is worse than adults far as the long-term. We have come a long way, for baseball coaching a HS prep team I had to take a concussion class and get the cert to coach.

 

I'm sure the youth football concussion stuff is even more robust.
