DrJacksPlaidPants Moderator No. 1 Share Posted September 25, 2022 There is no value in playing a NAIA team when you’re at the FCS level. SFA was also still throwing TD passes well into the 2nd half. I get that it’s up to the losing team to stop them, but maybe run the ball every down to keep the clock running. 98-0: Stephen F. Austin nearly hits century mark in rout of overmatched NAIA opponent SPORTS.YAHOO.COM The Lumberjacks came a touchdown short of tying the FCS record for the most points in a single game. CountryProf No. 2 Share Posted September 26, 2022 I remember that 1980 Portland State team that held the record of 105 points. Neil Lomax was the quarterback. The son of close family friends, Aaron Bell, was the backup quarterback. To my recollection, he never got to play in a game, because coach Mouse Davis was either trying to successfully drum up attention from NFL scouts, beef up his own resume, or both.
David Marsh No. 3 Share Posted September 26, 2022 Maybe there should be a rule of if its 70-0 the game is automatically over. There is no benefit for anyone involved at that point. Granted.. there was no benefit for anyone involved earlier in that game but still.
