There is underlying turmoil in college football. Networks are wielding more power than ever before over the CFB universe.

 

The NCAA has faded into yesterday. The SEC and B1G wield more power than ever before. A Premier League, not by that name, is looming. Those left outside of the Top-50 will be spread among the lower divisions, while the top dogs pad their Treasuries with more riches than before.

 

A new administration and regulator, along with new rules, will emerge. That is how the future is shaping up.

 

In the present, are the early firings of coaches related to the coming changes to college football? Are the AD's, Presidents, Trustees, and donors trying to right their ships before the pending storms?

 

Or, is the turnover of coaches we are witnessing simply part of the "just win, baby" mantra of CFB?

I think at some point the AD’s need to pay attention to the big donors that smooth out the athletic budgets.
