Oregon continues to adapt and adjust as players get closer to returning from injury

The tough stretch of basketball continues for Oregon men's basketball. After playing three straight ranked

opponents and then a Final Four team from last year in Villanova, the Ducks will now hit their early portion of Pac-12 play.

It starts with a date at home Thursday night against Washington State, and injuries and lack of practice continue to impact the Ducks.

So confused with the basketball schedule this season.  Both men and women have conference games, then have 4 or 3 non-conference games, then go back to finish conference games.  I wonder if this is going to be the new normal.

Oregon's big second half propels the Ducks to a blowout win over Washington State

The Ducks entered Pac-12 play in early December with a short bench and an opponent that

played right into the Ducks' concerns due to their depth and 3-point shooting. None if it mattered.

The Ducks and the Washington State Cougars were tied at 32-32 in the first half, but the Ducks

exploded in the second half by way of their defense and the leadership of Will Richardson.

Richardson's leadership continues to shine in Ducks' 14-point victory over Washington State

Early season basketball rarely is pretty, but the Ducks found a scoring spurt

in the middle of the second half from senior leader Will Richardson.

The injuries of Oregon’s front line and guards have been well documented. Without most of its firepower,

Oregon has been looking for spark plugs the last few games, and Richardson has stood out among the rest.

This team looks like it has tons of potential if they can get healthy. Richardson has been very impressive, displaying leadership I wasn't convinced he had in him.

Last night he showed some amazing ball handling skills and had a couple of beautiful ankle breaking crossovers on his way to layups.

I expect Ware is going to become a force to be reckoned with as the season rolls on. Maybe he could bulk up a bit, he seems to get pushed around under the rim.

If Dante can stay healthy he looks nearly unstoppable. Guerrier and Soares are both giving solid contributions, and Rigsby looks to be a hard worker, great hustler and defender. When he finds his shot... look out! The only weakness I see, aside from lack of depth due to injury, is spotty 3 point shooting. Hopefully that will improve. This group is pretty fun to watch. Can't wait for UCLA. Go Ducks!
