Pennsylvania Duck Moderator No. 1 Share Posted March 10, 2023 I bumped into Dana Altman at a roulette table in Sin City once. This was years ago during the Pac-12 Conference Tournament. Altman’s Oregon Ducks were humming along, playing great basketball. I was walking through the MGM Grand Casino one morning and I saw the coach bellied-up at a table. Altman wasn’t gambling. The table wasn’t even open. He just happened to come upon the empty chairs, stopped, sat down, and relaxed for a few minutes. I walked by and stopped to chat. Altman insisted he wasn’t much of a gambler. I beg to differ... Canzano: Oregon Ducks are all-in vs. UCLA WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Ducks play vs. No. 1-seed UCLA in semifinal. SmithRiverDuck No. 2 Share Posted March 10, 2023 Thank you, Pennsylvania Duck for all your hard work to bring us a never ending supply of reading material regarding OBD. I'll always read Canzano as long as it doesn't cost me anything more than time. From his time at the Oregonian he is as connected to Oregon sports as any journalist. He's meticulous in fact-checking. He doesn't talk out his arse unless noting beforehand that he'll be talking out his arse. He is honest. But, he's almost always one of the characters as well as the narrator of his stories. He has to let you know that he's an insider in a way that Jon Wilner doesn't need to. That's why Wilner is the number one Pac-12 insider and journalist. A good article, though. And, as usual, true enough. Altman will roll some metaphorical dice tomorrow and see which team shows up. The one capable of beating UCLA and Arizona? Or the team that lost to Utah Valley Somebody or another....... If Richardson comes alive, Dante can go unencumbered and others can take good shots and hit them, the sky is the limit.
Flyin Vee No. 3 Share Posted March 10, 2023 My strategy would be to use all 50 plus fouls available. Knock em down, hard screens, hammer them in the paint. Send them to the big whatever bruised and broken. Kamikaze kids 2.0.
Mudslide No. 4 Share Posted March 10, 2023 Allow me to echo SmithRiverDuck's appreciation of all the work done by Pennsylvania Duck. PD provides great fun and information to go with my morning coffee. Thank you PD. Sadly, SRD, I fear something like Extreme Unction may be required for Richardson to revive his game. Still, if Dante's ankle is good enough to go, the team should give a good account of itself against UCLA.
Jon Joseph Moderator No. 5 Share Posted March 10, 2023 Oregon vs UCLA is on the Pac-12 Network on the east coast at 9 PM. ESPN is showing ASU vs Arizona at 11:30 PM. This in a nutshell is the geography problem the Pac-10 and GK trying to negotiate a new media deal, have to deal with. And as to the 9 PM broadcast the Network has but 14M subscribers. Hats off to Larry and the 'bozos' who allowed Larry to run wild. GO DUCKS! 1
