Transfer Portal Interests to Ducks (3)
I am sure everyone noticed that not one "from Oregon" was on the list. Says a lot about our coaches evaluation talents.

Here's my question. Are there any pieces from Michigan's recent recruiting class that we want and might have a chance at? Recruits are already putting in for releases.

Duke Dukes Ducks! Why are we playing the Dukes? Due to Duke upsetting Virginia.

Glad I bought tickets to the game as I don't have access to TBS or HBO, I was surprised that those are the stations carrying it.

So great to have an article contributed by a core member of this forum, Steven A.! I had not thought of where he was going with this, but he makes good points and conclusions. Our thanks for the article!

It’s A No-Brainer: Notre Dame Deserved It, And…
Humbly disagree. After the 1st two games, ND's schedule was far from robust. Notre Dame's best win of the season was against No. 16 USC in a game played in a monsoon in South Bend. All of the ND and Miami metrics were close. Close enough that head-to-head results, pursuant to PO committee procedures, came into play. Everything and anything else is subjective sophistry. Miami won. Notre Dame lost. In real POs where teams qualify for the field based on their record, losses count no matter when the loss happened. You cannot overcome a loss by looking good while beating up teams with weaker rosters. The only reason Miami over ND is an issue is because of worthless interim rankings, so ESPN can make more money. BTW - Under the ACC's Eat What You Kill PO revenue policy, put into place to settle the lawsuit with Clemson and FSU (😁), Miami will share little PO revenue with the ACC and the member teams.

Given the current playoff selection criteria, I would expect the top teams from the B1G and SEC to cancel games with top OOC teams, including ND. The benefit is not worth the risk. Texas might be in the playoff if they didn’t schedule Ohio State and lose.

Thanks Steven! I must admit you had me with the title. I was going WHAT?? I agree with Hampton taking the DC reins, but the jury is still out with Mehringer. I do trust in Dan Lanning’s process. He sees the potential with each coach I don’t. Congrats to both coaches, looking forward to great success they will provide. Go Ducks!

Texas Tech lit up BYU twice, and its only loss was at ASU when the red Raiders starting QB couldn't play. Tech also wrecked a good Utah team in Salt Lake City. Cody Campbell's money was well spent, especially on the DL and LB. LB Rogriguez won the Butkus Award. He started his college ball playing QB at Virginia. Pretty well known by now that his wife is an Air Force Blackhawk pilot. Joey McGuire is an experienced, savvy football coach who, in his selection show interview, mentioned the loss in Lubbock to Oregon with Bo Nix leading a comeback win. Eugene is twice as far from Miami as Lubbock is. This is new territory for fired-up Tech fans who will show up for the game. I expect attendance to be 60/40 in favor of TT at least. PO travel for OBD fans is brutal, and always will be when traditional bowl sites host the second round forward games. However, I do hope Oregon fans will have the opportunity to travel to Miami, Atlanta, and then back to Miami. There is a chance OBD could play a semifinal game in Phoenix instead of Atlanta. Everyone's gaga about Georgia because the Dawgs controlled the game vs a wounded Bama team. A week earlier, Georgia's O was stymied by Georgia Tech. I'm not saying I prefer UGA (DUH), but TT is legit. Noon Eastern Orange Bowl KO - 9 AM Pacific. 11 AM Central. OBD opened -7.5, bet down to -4.5. FIRST - Destroy the Dukes!

I know many of you are going to do a double-take of the title that is obviously in error. Last week we thought Lane Kiffin, and his nonsense were going to be the stories of the off-season. Then it was Penn State bungling their coaching search. Then just a day or so ago, it was going to be about Notre Dame, and the CFP format likely changing. It's like being a Cowboys fan in the nineties. Imagine a world where Michigan hires DeBoer, and Lane Kiffin goes to Alabama. I don't know if I was at a big job making big money, if I'd want to take that job right now. It's a top ten , or five job. But, there's a lot of mess right now. None of us know who knew what, or if there's more. Michigan students were asked what the team should do. One said "Hire that guy with the glasses at Indiana, just give him a billion dollars". Another said "Defund the whole program". The students are split.

Notre Dame Football Whining Like Spoiled Child Over CFP Snub
At some point I think it would be reasonable for the P4 conferences to tell Notre Dame to join a conference or face the very real prospect of not being scheduled by teams in the the P4 leagues. Probably ND would opt for the ACC--if I am not mistaken, they are already there in basketball and perhaps other sports as well. They could probably retain their private network, at least to some degree. I don't think the SEC required Texas to completely give theirs up. In so doing ND would have to poop or get off the pot and earn their way into the dance rather than relying on any preferential treatment which will become stale real quickly in the modern era.
