Michigan run-rules Oregon 10-0 to take the first game of the series.

There is an interesting column today in The Athletic about UConn coach Geno Auriemma and how much emphasis he places on body language affecting how well individual players play and what he does about it. To the point of sitting his "stars" whom he assesses "aren't into it." And, making body language a part of his video game replay with his team. It's a pay-for site, so won't post a link. But, Charles comment about body language made me think of it.

10-0 Michigan after six innings. I was afraid it would get ugly...and it has. True Freshman Josh Hollis gave up two walks, and a couple hits to score three more. Meanwhile the Ducks look inept on offense. Perhaps a Run-Rule would be merciful?

7-0 Michigan after five innings. It's awful, but at least Josh Hollis is getting some good experience and some outs.

7-0 Michigan after four innings. We look so flat...and thus nothing on offense again? Oregon put Josh Hollis in to pitch, which to me is waving a white flag. Waz is either saving Bradley for another game, or pulling him because he did not like what what he saw of Tanner's pitching. So Hollis gives up a hit that scores another... My Duck-Buddies, the body language I see from OBD is not good, and this one is about to get ugly. So I will be posting scoring a little later than usual, as I have other stuff to do too.

6-0 Michigan after three innings. Nothing on offense. Will Sanford lost control today and was replaced with two outs gone. He plinked a batter, and walked three, as a grounder scored one. Then he gave up a base hit that scored two. Then Tanner Bradley gives up a hit that scores two...

1-0 Michigan after two innings. Oregon did nothing on offense, and Will Sanford gave up a solo homer.

0-0 after one inning. Ducks left one stranded on base. Will Sanford got it done...1-2-3 this inning. We have a grey day in Ann Arbor, so Oregon should feel right at home. The stadium is empty, almost nobody there, so home field advantage is negated today! We have Shane Brenim of the Wolverines with a 6.61 ERA vs. Oregon's Will Sanford with a 1.24 ERA will counter.

College Football News (CFN) ranks the Big Ten's 2026 Schedules - No. 1 being the most difficult and No. 18 the easiest. In this ranking, Ohio State's schedule is ranked as the 6th most difficult. Poor Doo comes in at No. 1. OBD's schedule is ranked the 2nd hardest in the Big Ten. IMO, OBD's schedule definitely belongs in the top 4. The Ducks Wire article that said the Oregon schedule in 2026 is easy? The author needs to go to his room without dinner. The game at Illinois is made more difficult by the Illini having a bye before playing Oregon, and Oregon playing Nebraska the week before traveling to Champaign. The November finish to the schedule is hard and made harder by having to make two trips to the Eastern time. 11/7 - At Ohio State / 11/14 - Michigan / 11/21 at Michigan State 11/28 UW - Prepare for snow in East Lansing on 11/21. And also prepare to play three teams that will likely be in the Playoff Committee's Top 25. I think this team actually has more potential since it looks like right now there is a bit more depth in pitching, we aren't seeing as many wild scores, the offense isn't quite what it's been in the past, but it isn't inept either. Not as dependent on the long ball. I really hope we can win some of those series against the ranked teams so that we might have the chance to host.
