Ducks win 7-6! Devin Bell gave up a walk, but disposed of the rest as a great closer does! Maddox Molony walked, and Drew Smith showed bunt, but them pulled it back...a slash! He zings it down third base to get a hit and move Molony to third base. Then Angel Laya gets it drive through the right infield for the WALK-OFF win! Oregon never led the entire game until that hit! (Game summary always comes out about two hours after the game at the end of this thread)

6-6 after eight innings, as Michael Meckna came in and gave up a double, but dispensed with the rest. He has become a reliable option out of the 'Pen this year thus far. Josh Schleichardt walked, and Jack Brooks came in the pinch run. Ryan Cooney hits to short-LF, to get two on. Dominic Hellman nails one up the middle as Brooks jets for home to tie it up going into the ninth inning. Let's Go Ducks!

6-5 Hoosiers after seven innings. Toby Twist put them down 1-2-3...fantastic. Another new big-guy, Navivou Lauaki is in at first base for Gabe Miranda.

6-5 Hoosiers after six innings. Toby Twist was wonderful putting them away for Oregon. Boy the Ducks got the bats going! Drew Smith walked, and Angel Laya got a hit to mid-lin RF. Then Josh Schleichardt gets a hit through the gap on left to load the bases! Ryan Cooney nails the CF/RF gap that went to the wall and scored three! Dominic Hellman blasts one to the wall that scores Cooney. What a difference when the Indiana reliever is in there, not the starter...whew!

Oregon's stud starter for Sunday, Cal Scolari, must be hurt, as Josh Hollis, a true freshman, is on the hill, and already gave up as many hits in the first inning (two) as Ducks' pitchers did yesterday the entire game. The Indiana pitcher is good with a 3.12 ERA, so the Ducks have their hands full. So many other pitchers...why Hollis?

Great read as always Jon. The solutions to these problems are so simple, and college football is superior to the NFL in so many ways. But there is a reason why the NFL is ten times bigger than CFB, and it's not because of the fans. CFB fans are by far more rabid, they are willing to give money to schools that most of them have no real association with. Despite the fact these athletic programs are rich beyond belief. Imagine a Seahawks fan giving money to that billionaire freely, without it being some levy or whatever nonsense. CFB has a tribal problem. You have two main tribes that have the same goal, but are too blind to see the easy solution. If Sankey and Petiti could get their heads out of their rears, they could push for a far better product. Instead it's about who's better. It's "Our way is best. You must concede!!!", imagine a world with the SEC/B1G football challenge every year. Mix in the ACC/Big 12. Imagine what Jon has written about countlessly with great consistency, and common sense. A world with real rules, real scheduling balance, real off-season, and coach/player movement that makes sense. A playoff where we get great matchups, where the regular season has true merit. That would be something. But instead, we are stuck on this tired foolish debate of best league. Something the NFL has no issues with. You don't hear AFC and NFC fanbases argue about this. They just care about their individual team, and hope their favorite aces the draft, coaching hires, and free agent class when the time comes. It happens in a set period, not while the season is on going.

2006 on side kickoff 'recovery' to beat Oklahoma This was the one in my book that pissed off the world that Oregon won. For that, I will always give the number one spot. 2007 beating USC and I think a game later, surged the Ducks to number 2 in the nation. That was really big. New heights. This was the era of USC being a national powerhouse. (beat Michigan earlier in season as well) This ranking put Oregon in the club of super teams, not just the pretty good who could win an upset. From this point until the end of the 2014 season, Oregon was ranked very highly many times. 2010 Blowout win vs Tennessee. Showed the world that Oregon was not just a west coast team that could be other west coast teams. Cliff Harris was on top of his game. A real superstar... while it lasted. Give credit where credit is due. 2019 losing to Az St. Iconic in a bad way. Showed that Cristobal and his team could sink to new lows. Made me lose my mind over stuff like this. Ducks should have run the table after the close opening season loss to Auburn. Oregon had a supremely talented roster that year including Kayvon Thib, P. Sewell, Holland, Herbert and others,including some future NFL cornerbacks. They had a real chance to win its first natty that year except for that loss that knocked them out of the playoffs to a very mediocre pac12 team. A team that was surging lost all the air out of their balloon. Just win out and get back to playoffs. But nooooooooooooooooo. 2021 beat Ohio St. Knocked off a super team that was always around championships in that era. Got up to #3 shortly after that. Oregon was 'back' to the Chip Kelly glory days... until more classic Cristobal bad performances and I think that was the year Cristobal left the team and took the Miami job. But it still was a shot of adrenalin for the team and the fans. It woke up the media, that was for sure. 2022 blowout loss to Georgia - iconic in a bad way. From the lows of 2016, Oregon had been climbing back and several times they were almost making playoffs again. Cristobal out and Lanning in. Dan Lanning 'worked' the portal and brought in a high school 5 star QB in Bo Nix. Oregon should have been competitive, even though this was Georgia's best team ever in history. This was a huge kick to the nuts for Duck fans. Still need more time to regroup. Quite a few Duck fans jumped off the band wagon at this point. 2010 season natty vs Auburn. Even though the team lost, it showed that Oregon could compete for a championship. The team hung in there against a talented Auburn team and could have won it if they got a break or two. It made the fans believe that Oregon could hang with the big boys. Yes, moral victories are important. Don't forget the undefeated regular season! End it with another bad one: 2009 loss to Boise St Oregon was surging and Chip just got promoted. This was when Boise St was good. This should have been a great win for the Ducks to kick off the season. Not only was it a loss, but a complete meltdown with espn showing non stop replays of L. Blount losing his mind after the game. The Ducks did rebound that year and make it to the Rose Bowl. To me, these are the kind of games that write the Oregon football story. I don't care too much about playing the Wisconsins, Washingtons, and Beavers of the world. Iconic to me means games that have a national relationship, not just a local one. These games tell the story of climbing the ladder, getting knocked down and then redemption. And the cycle continues. These are the kind of games that make the big wins actually mean something. If it was easy, who would care? I am not the kind of guy who yells USA USA USA at my tv during the olympics. America is the best nation at sports and of course they are going to win medals. THe big losses are just as much part of the path as the big wins for Oregon. It is a journey, not a pleasure cruise. Ducks have a very talented roster for 2026. I am more excited about this coming season than any other.

The way Clark was throwing for the Oregon baseball team, he didn't need much offense to support him. The Ducks gave him some anyway, blasting three home runs in a 5-1 victory to secure a series win over Indiana. The series finale is Sunday, with first pitch scheduled for 12:30 p.m. to accommodate a Big Ten Network telecast. Clarke (3-1) allowed two hits over seven innings Saturday, the only blemish on his line a third-inning solo homer. It was a loud performance, both statistically and in the way he stalked the mound between pitches, exuding competitive energy. Collin Clarke today... "It was a really good start for Collin," UO coach Mark Wasikowski said. "He's a super competitor. You've got to really appreciate how competitive the kid is, and his mix is really good. I mean, he's got an electric arm and he's got a good feel for the ball. … He misses on the over-competitive side sometimes, and I'd rather have that than anything else. So I'm happy that he's in our uniform." The solo homer was the only extra-base hit Clarke allowed. There might have been a couple more, but Jax Gimenez made a diving catch in the gap in left-center in the first inning, and freshman Angel Laya snared a potential home run in right-center in the seventh. "I thought that ball was gone," Clarke said. "I couldn't believe he brought it back. Hell of a play." Laya also hit one of three home runs on the day by the Ducks (16-3). The first was the seventh of the season for third baseman Drew Smith, a solo homer in the second that continued his streak of reaching base in every game so far this season. "Every day I'm still trying to get better and still trying to work on my game, because there's definitely parts of it I can still improve on," said Smith, who is hitting .458 after 1-for-2 on Saturday, with two walks. "So, just trying to crush it every single day and just let the results happen. If they come, they come; if they don't, they don't. As long as my process is right, I'm in a good spot." How It Happened: Smith homered with two out in the bottom of the second to break a scoreless tie. Indiana's only run of the day came in the top of the third, but the Ducks answered that in the bottom of the inning with a Ryan Cooney solo shot for a 2-1 lead.
