Dark Knight vs Whiteout: Oregon vs Penn State
I'd love to see them bring these bad boys out for a repeat performance. "Are You Not Entertained?" Part Deux! Thumbs down, the throng of 100,000 making an early exit. Rinse and repeat. White Out = Our Time to Shine Go Ducks!

Dark Knight vs Whiteout: Oregon vs Penn State
Speaking of not being happy with BIG scheduling: Both Ohio State and Penn State (the BIG's favored children) have bye weeks before playing the northwest teams. Adding insult to injury, the favored Nittany Lions play at home following their bye week with Oregon traveling 3,000 miles. Talk about stacking the deck. Oh well, I think Lanning uses it to dial in his boys and we win in spite of the BIG powers that be. Go Ducks!

Post Northwestern Game…Reactions?
Donte insured the win for us IMHO. Most Surprised By: The lack of push from our offensive line. With guys like Sadiq and DM bringing the blocks no matter the circumstances, you would think the 6'5" 330lb road graders could shove someone smaller and weaker off the ball simply because they want to. Not sure what to make of that showing today.

Oregon-Northwestern Game Day Thread
Wish the back ups played with a little more "want to". Glad I'm not a gambler betting the spread.

Oregon-Northwestern Game Day Thread
A defensive tactic I've never seen before: Let's have most of our defenders looking over at the sidelines when the ball is snapped! Hard to play lock down when you don't know what you're are supposed to be doing when the play starts.

Will Stein's OPPOSITE OFFENSE...or a Head-Fake?
One of the obvious benefits of scoring in bunches early on is that the game is essentially over at halftime, allowing for LOTS of playing time for your young and talented roster. One of the things I recall from Georgia (and Alabama's) natty runs, is that they were deep at every position, and when a player went down, often a player of equal (sometimes better) talent stepped in. Lanning has assembled that kind of talent in Eugene, and there's no time like the present to get them on the field accumulating real game reps. Come playoff time, we are going to be deep & experienced. "If you're good enough, you're old enough."

The PAC 2 Have Gotten Worse At a Breathtaking Pace
Hard to believe these Rodents represent the same school that throttled Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl in the Dennis Erickson era. Their undoing was that stupid chain saw routine. Get rid of that and you've ungraded the program!

Is Oregon the Next Oklahoma State?
By the time PK goes the way of his forefathers OBD will be close to or at full revenue sharing in the BIG, which will be somewhere around $100 million a year (give or take $20 million). With Oregon's strong brand (The GOAT of brand equity?), fiscal management, facilities, NFL presence, etc, etc, I don't see us EVER going the way of the Cowpokes. IMHO.

Oklahoma State's HC Mike Gundy: Talkin Out of Both Sides of His Mouth
He disproved the notion that $ makes better football programs when his boys struggled to beat hugely underfunded UT Martin. Apparently $ is not an issue until you face someone who makes better use of it than you do. Come on Gundy, you're better than that. Maybe...

Whoa! New Uniforms for 2025, "To Be Discussed and Debated...A LOT"
Speaking of sweet memories...this one in OT against the Mutts was particularly delightful. Also a reminder that the uniforms always look better after a nice win.

Will the Duck Defensive Secondary be a Liability Again this Year?
I think soft defense is sort of a systemic thing with OBD. It goes with the territory/history of glitz, glamour, speed and likability. IMHO we need a few more dirt dogs like this to set the tone for tough defense:

QB Battle Vs Reps
So many angles on this one. While competing for the starting QB position is an asset, you cannot underestimate the impact of being (and knowing) that you are the guy. IMHO it changes the way you lead, play, and turn adversity into accomplishment. While Bo & Dillon came in with a lot more experience (not all good), they didn't have "the benefit" of competing for the quarterback position through camp, yet managed to hit the field ready to win games. For what it's worth, I too trust the DL & WS process, but I can't help but lean towards naming the guy who is going to take the reins ASAP.

How Should Duck Fans Remember Mark Helfrich?
It was the uniforms! (Isn't that always the case with OBD?) Mark Helfrich was done in by a series of uniform debacles. Consider: The disgusting "Oregon Trail" threads that became a point of humor for the Pirate (WSU coach Mike Leach) after beating us in Double OT at Autzen The clownish "Daffy Duck" orange socks uniforms that set the stage to be roasted by Colorado at home The retro "Cal Leather Helmet" combination that made us look like absolute buffoons against the Bastard Huskies in our 70 to 21 loss at home I'm convinced it was the fashion faux pas combined with fittingly ugly home losses that sparked the ire of Duck fans and decision makers. Ultimately, Mark was done in by equipment fails.

Mario for Coach of the Year? When PIGs Fly
How could the coach who called this play EVER be considered for COY? "Running back C.J. Verdell of the Oregon Ducks fumbled with time running out against Stanford in a game played on September 22, 2018. The fumble occurred while Verdell was fighting for extra yardage. Stanford recovered the fumble and went on to tie the game with a field goal, eventually winning in overtime. This loss was particularly difficult for Oregon, as they had seemingly sealed the victory before the fumble occurred." Ya think?

June Gloom and Doom Football Predictions
U.W. lost to WSU 24 to 19 at home on Sept. 14th last season, so they are now proud owners of a 4 game home winning streak. I know because I celebrate Husky losses almost as much as Duck wins (maybe even a bit more!). Go Ducks!

Baseball Season Comments & Stunning Playoff Results
After giving up a 2 run dinger in the first, the Rodents put of 7 in their half of the inning, with 4 of them coming on 2 HR's from the 8 & 9 hitters in the lineup. Impressive for the Marsupials.

Portal Punter Joins Ducks
Makes me wonder what happened to Ross James in the off season? Seems like he found his way into DL's dog house. It also suggests that you better not lose your edge & dedication during the off season if you want to see the field on this team!
