  1. U.W. lost to WSU 24 to 19 at home on Sept. 14th last season, so they are now proud owners of a 4 game home winning streak. I know because I celebrate Husky losses almost as much as Duck wins (maybe even a bit more!). Go Ducks!
  2. After giving up a 2 run dinger in the first, the Rodents put of 7 in their half of the inning, with 4 of them coming on 2 HR's from the 8 & 9 hitters in the lineup. Impressive for the Marsupials.
  3. Ducks up 9-6! Playing small ball to perfection!
  4. Runners at the corners with 1 out. A couple of insurance runs would be sweet! StatBroadcast Live Stat Feed STATS.STATBROADCAST.COM
  5. End of the 8th, OBD still up 7-6!
  6. Makes me wonder what happened to Ross James in the off season? Seems like he found his way into DL's dog house. It also suggests that you better not lose your edge & dedication during the off season if you want to see the field on this team!
  7. SEC & Big Ten I think. Point well taken though!
  8. Ducks looked pretty flawless in this 9 - 0 run rule win. Flying High!
  9. Tuned in occasionally. Every time I did, I couldn't keep it on because our pitching looked so atrocious. This against a team that has 6 wins. Make that 7 after spanking OBD.
  10. OBD better be on their game tomorrow. In today's action #12 McNeese is routing #5 Clemson...up 40 to 18 midway through the 2nd half. Clemson is jacking up 3's like there is no tomorrow, which is what it's going to be for them! Classic 12 vs 5 matchup. Go Ducks!
  11. Regarding how good Indiana is: They beat Purdue 73-58 down the stretch and would have finished on a 7 game win streak had they not lost to OBD twice:)
  12. Wow, is Nate Bittle one of the best big men in the country? 36 points, 3 of 4 from beyond the arc, 7 of 8 from the free throw line, 12 rebounds. It's tournament time! AND, he may be back next year for a curtain call.
  13. TJ = Turnover Jinxed. 5 turnovers and there is still plenty of time to get more. But, he is 3 for 9 on his shot attempts and O for 4 outside the arc. The man is a tour de force today! Oh, and he also has more fouls than anyone on the team. Jeez.
  14. Easy to imagine the conversations taking place in the weight room: "What kind of NIL money did you get? How much? I'm gone!"
  15. The impact of an athletic, high motor, play disrupting defensive line was on full display. I like to think that is where OBD are heading!
  16. So, is it time for the Chiefs to go shopping for a new offensive coordinator? One bad game...
  17. Don't forget T.J. Ward when mentioning Oregon's big hitters; perhaps the G.O.A.T. of Oregon defensive backs.
  18. OBD are 25 and 3 with Will Stein as our offensive coordinator, with a perfect regular season and a Big Ten Championship. As a Duck fan since the Ice Age (over 50 years), with recollections of utter jubilation for winning the Independence Bowl over a 6 and 5 Tulsa team and memories of the infamous Toilet Bowl O to O tie with OSU, my reaction to complaining about Stein's abilities is...well, some things are better left unsaid, I guess.
  19. Bamba is currently on a torrid pace of 1 for 8. He is 2 for 2 on his free throws. There is that. UPDATE: Well, now he is 4 for 12.
  20. Time to focus on bringing in those OSU defectors!
  21. With Carroll's passion for the game and Kelly's offensive ingenuity, I could root for the Raiders. Whoa, did I just write that? Somebody, anybody, take down the Chiefs, please!
  22. Maybe Dana is keeping the bulk of the playbook under wraps. That would explain the appearance that this team doesn't appear to know how to run a play when the 3 ball isn't serving them well. When the Big Dance starts, Coach is going to hit our opponents with everything we have in our arsenal. 60 minutes of hell unleashed that catapults us back to the Final Four! Afternoon daydream is over. Time to wake up and get back to work!
  23. Meh. Lost me for a while. Time to hit "Pause" on Dana ball.
  24. 3 for 16 from beyond the arc in the first half. Dana, are you coaching these guys?
  25. Well, according to this very basic metric referred to as "Stop Rate", OBD have to find a way to do better, and that usually entails change. According to an ESPN article, here is an overview of the "stop rate" measurement: What is stop rate? It's a basic measurement of success: the percentage of a defense's drives that end in punts, turnovers or a turnover on downs. Defensive coordinators have the same goal regardless of their scheme, opponent or conference: prevent points and get off the field. Stop rate is a simple metric but can offer a good reflection of a defense's effectiveness on a per-drive basis in today's faster-tempo game. Great teams find a way to get stops in critical moments. The national champion Buckeyes earned their No. 1 finish by achieving a stop rate of 78.5%. (#1 on the stop rate list) That's a mighty impressive percentage considering their defense had to endure a four-game College Football Playoff run and a 16-game schedule that featured six top-5 opponents. OBD? They were 32nd on the list! We were just not very good at getting the D off the field. Not good enough to take us to the promised land IMHO. Final college football defensive stop rate for 2024 season - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM We ranked the top defenses for the 2024 season based on how many times an opponent's drive ended without points.
