  1. I threw my little tantrum about halftime of the game, and then realized that the outcome has very little bearing on my over all life. I then could only laugh and shake my head everytime something went sideways in the game. I realized that the football team from Indiana was using all their luck up, (such as when they fumbled, then recovered it after bouncing off their own linemans arms.....) I am already getting excited for next year, only concern is Dante Moore. I realize he is very young, has less then 25 starts, and hope he returns so he can learn and get much better. Ideally for 2 more years, but i don't see that happening.
  2. I think this is what happened with the defense versus TT as well. Does CDL have the offensive chops to help Stein? Does the next OC get to call some of the game since his mind might work different? Will OBD let everything hang out and just go for it? Controlled of course, but there is no such thing as holding anything close to the vest now. Indiana is too good to try and keep anything in reserve for the Ship game (if OBD can make it there). This is going to be a such a chess match!
  3. I don't recall now where i saw it, but one thing i haven't seen many questions or information about is how good is TT second defense line? Once their vaunted front 7 are winded, what kind of fall off is there? Can OBD go up tempo and gas them? Not swap out and force them to either get flagged for illegal substitute or just get caught flat footed? How will a long sustained drive affect their conditioning? How much effect will sustained drive after sustained drive, just dinking and doinking down the field in the first half wear them out? That's one thing i am interested in. SCO DUCKS!!!
  4. I was really hoping since they went with the home version of this, that they would wear the away version. Maybe change up the pants and helmet, but the jersey, to me, is fantastic. But what do i know.
  5. Allegedly, he thinks TT is better then Indiana. I get that you should support your team, but dang, bud. I was waiting on the part where he reveals he is joking, but....Might be an interesting saturday for him.
  6. Interesting read on the Saturday Down South article. TT QB has not played much in the 4th quarter all year, and has yet had to lead a comeback. "For what it’s worth, Morton has 211 career pass attempts in the 4th quarter, so it’s not as if a close game will be a completely foreign concept. But with this team, and specifically this play caller (Mack Leftwich), that would be a new situation if it presents itself. That’s not an ideal question mark in a Playoff quarterfinal against a Dan Lanning defense." Not sure how you prep your QB for the nerves of a 2 minute drill, knowing which plays you want for the 2 minute drill, without having to do it all year. Just thought it was an interesting stat. I know from reading some of the TT message boards, OBD shouldn't score more then 10 points and OBD Defense is trash so giving up 30 wouldn't be shocking. Guess thats why you play the game...
  7. My only issue with Indiana winning the title is the fact that in 2004 i went to my friends house to watch my Ducks play his hoosiers. He graduated from IU, loves their basketball team, lives for IU sports. Needless to say, it was not a good day for me. Now, this year, light smack talking over texts, (hes in Alaska, I am now in Kansas). Once again I suffer through watching OBD fall to the hoosiers. Granted, it is personal but I don't know if I can live in a world where indiana wins a CFB championship before OBD. If it came down to IU versus alabama though, there is no way I can root for bama.
  8. Do we load the box, bringing Dillon Thieneman down to help contain PSU running backs? Make Allar beat us with his arm? Can he? Does Tosh have faith in our defense linemen to plug the holes? Not sweating getting 4 sacks, but forcing Allar to make the throws that he hasn't this season? Let Allar have the check-down passes, giving them 2-3 yards a play for passing but swarm tackling since we have 8 in the box? So many things I am thinking of for tomorrows game, and I know that OBD staff has 25 other things they are thinking/planning for!
  9. I agree with you Charles. Precision. Pointed, accurate, ruthless efficiency. Just make the beavs hang their head with shame and be in awe of how well oiled a machine OBD are. Give something for PSU to worry about on top of everything else. "How do we break up and rattle them off their game?"
  10. Had this pop into my head today and wondering if anyone else thinks that Dante Moore is what we expected from Ty Thompson?
  11. I am trying to temper my feelings after watching the first two games, but i think it is obvious that now that the players are all CDL products, and the culture he had built in UGA is now in full swing in Eugene. The players all seem to be giving everything and more that CDL is asking for. There was no let off until CDL said to. Its subtle, it probably doesn't look much different to most non-OBD fans, but its there. Coupled with being so close last year, this years motivation is easy to come by. It gives me chills watching how prepared, how in tune, and just how hard the players are playing for each other. Having been a fan and gone to games since the early-mid Eighties...its something to see.
  12. I would think it is going to be as potent as last year. It might not look the same though. I seem to recall some other teams who had a dominating TE that would wreak havoc on opposing defenses. (GA for one). Couple that with one or two outstanding WR and a couple running backs, I see no issues. Is the defense going to be able to match the offense potential?
  13. Just in case, everyone knows there is a Hockey team at the club level for the Ducks. When I came back for a visit a couple years ago, I was able to attend on of the games downtown at the rink. They are trying to grow the sport for the university, and would be fantastic to see them in the frozen four in a couple years, or even facing off with osu2 and michigan. The sweaters consistently win voting contests for best looking too.
  14. After growing up just outside Eugene but then leaving and living a bunch of different places, now in the Midwest, I am stoked for BIG TEN seasons. I know I won't be the ONLY duck fan in the stands for many sports. Just checked tickets for the Iowa baseball series. 6 bucks a game.
  15. I can see Chip trying to explain to the team how it will be, but, until you're in it, and having your teeth rattling, it's hard to understand. Pretty arrogant to say "Autzen will be a non-factor"
