  1. I think you're on to something here. It goes back to the offense, and now how Mario was saying, "Yeah, got it with the offense, yeah, yeah". But of course he didn't have it at all. He didn't really have anything, and now he has to start over again. This time in a place with a history of winning championships, and the belief, somehow, that he will get The U back to the top. I like where Oregon is now. Not sure about Miami.
  2. Cristobal landed as the coach to keep the team from sinking, so can't really compare the reactions to his and Lanning's starting points. Lanning doesn't need to keep the program from sinking, he just needs to keep it from just treading water. The enthusiasm he showed at his introduction has followed in his actions. He's hired some coaches, talked to possible recruits, and "attacked the portal". I see it as an upgrade already. It's hard to get excited about the Alamo Bowl, but It will bring closure to the season. I am really looking forward now to the 1st game next season. I have no doubt that Lanning will have the team fired up for Georgia, something we sure couldn't say about Miami Guy.
  3. You are so right with this, and makes the 2016 "70" by the Huskies even more of a sign of where they are as a program. Oregon, and now USC has the hype going, is the Brand, when it comes to the Pac-2.
  4. I dont know, but if I'm a standout defensive player having Lanning, with the Georgia D he was in charge of, I'd be excited to be a part of what he'll have at Oregon.
  5. It is true that you remember the bad more intensely than the bad, and the non-block is my top memory of DAT. The game that always pops up first in my memory is Oct.30, 2010, when the Stormtroopers took over the Coliseum. Oregon ran for 311 yards and beat USC 53-32

  9. Actually, since 1964, Oregon-Washington have played 56 times, didn't play in 2001 or 2020. The record is 28-28.

So far, not only has Oregon not collapsed with the departure of the guy from Miami, new Coach, Dan Lanning, has moved forward, namely reconnecting with Cyrus Moss, and in this story from Ducks Wire, Zachary Neel, a top QB, has Oregon in his list.   11. I've told my ill begotten Husky Cousins that Chip's Ducks could have put 70 on them multiple times, but beating them, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 times in a row was enough, and oh yeah, it's 1, 2, 3 in a row again.

  14. Exactly! The CFB, BCS, whatever we call it, has taken the spirit out of college football. Why not have two Champs? Conflict is energizing. Besides the fans of the Invited teams, nobody is waiting with bated breath for the semi-finals, much less the Rose Bowl. It's why there are Bowls for 6-6 teams, or 5-7 now.

  16. The Seahawks are in a serious downturn this season, in large part, as you note here, by their Draft moves.
  17. The Draft is one time where we hope for our Ducks not to win the prize of being No.1. Let Hutchinson stay in Michigan and be the No. 1 pick for the Lions. The Jags and Jets and Texans don't look that much better. It's actually pretty bad until you get to No. 11, Miami right now. Chicago, Carolina, Seattle, the Giants, Atlanta, are No.'s 5 -9. Last season Micah Parsons, LB out of Penn, State was picked No. 12 by Dallas. He is the consensus Defensive Rookie of the Year.
