  1. Absolutely, their top recruit was a legacy, two other highly ranked in-state players went elsewhere, JTT will. But yes, the Dogs have their Huard, and will have to play road games in 2021. Bow Wow.
  2. With Tyler Shough entering the transfer portal, the competition for the starting quarterback at Oregon got a lot more interesting. This article from NBC Sports Northwest breaks down the contenders.
  3. Utah and Whittingham is the opposite of ASU and Herm, and I think the success of the two programs bear that out. Utah has over-exceeded expectations since they joined the Pac-12, Utah is THE team you look past at your peril. Whittingham is a great fit there, and I don't think that Utah ever needed to worry about him leaving for another job.
  4. This, and the rest of your post is what I thought when Herm got the job, the success he has had at ASU have exceeded my expectations.
  5. Make sure you're sitting down before you read this article from 247sports.com
  6. It is, but as David mentioned earlier, it does narrow the competition which could prove to be beneficial, Best of luck to Tyler and to the quarterbacks who will be competing for the starting position.
  7. Payton announced that he owned Seattle last season, and after their win over the Huskies there earlier this season, it's still under Oregon's ownership. Now, Payton has added Toronto. From NBC Sports Northwest
  8. This is really a great article David in how it points to just how important a coach and the culture is to a team. Mario is not perfect, but we can all see what he has developed at Oregon and where he's leading it. Helton has yet to build a culture at USC, and now he's hung his hat on, "Air Raid". An offense, that WSU, the most disadvantaged school in the conference used. Leach never won the North at WSU, never finished in second place, but at least their quarterback throwing 70 passes a game for 600 yards, in a loss, got the Coug's on SportsCenter. If Helton, at the most Advantaged school in the Pac-12 really wants to go that way, I say, "Yay!".
  9. It was a game time decision for Chris Duarte, and it turned out to be a good one. Duarte hit the first shot for the Ducks, scored 5 of the first 8. He finished the half with 18, more than half of the 35 the Ducks scored, while holding Arizona State to 28. Duarte didn't score in the second half, but he had plenty of teammates to pick up the slack. Duarte and Omoruyi finished with 18, Figueroa, 16 and Richardson 15, completed the double figure scoring for the Ducks. Figueroa, finished, 4-7 on 3's, Duarte, 4-8, Richardson, 3-6. The Ducks hit42,4% overall, 40.0 overall, the Ducks really moved the ball well, finishing with 22 assists. ASU, for whom only Remy Martin, 30, finished with double figures, had 13 assists.
  10. If you go back 50 years, Washington might have more wins.
  11. Well, as the article pointed out, the notables of Washington's recruiting was getting a legacy to come in at quarterback, but even more, the two extremely highly rated in state players who already left, and the best one that will later.
  12. He played a season high 15 minutes in the win over the Huskies, scored 8 points, picked up two rebounds and blocked two shots. You can learn some more about Franck Kepnang in this article from GoDucks.com
  13. Depth is always good. Softball pitching and relieving is much different from baseball. I'm still not sure of all the rules, but, while in baseball once a pitcher is removed he can not return to the game, a softball pitcher can be removed, and she can return to the game. I don't think a pitcher can be removed for one batter, but that's about it. Mike White had great starting pitching, and didn't use many of these relieving rules. Cheridan Hawkins, Megan Kleist, Miranda Elish, were rarely taken out at all. In 2019, Lombardi didn't pull Jordan Dail very often, but she was pretty much the only pitcher that team had! It will be great to see How Lombardi handles this deep pitching staff.
  14. It will be great to see some big bats, way back, way, way back, Earl Weaver of the Baltimore Orioles, was a proponent of Big Bats, Walter Alston of the Dodgers, was more Small Ball, the joke was, "Koufax just pitched a no hitter. Yeah, but did the Dodgers win?"
  15. No, 10 in the country, but 5th place in the conference, right under No. 15 ASU in the country doesn't make a lot of sense. Except, it does show how, like basketball, Pac-12 softball is very deep and competitive.
  16. This is very encouraging, it seems that more than anything a defense can do, creating turnovers, is the most positive. It also identifies a defense as being active and aggressive.
  17. Precisely. I agree, After games, preferably 3 or so, it will be a ranking based on performance on the field, not projections of what might happen,
  18. Sometimes, but remember that USC is the poster child for preseason darlings.
  19. After seeing this last Saturday, I don't know if even the most optimistic would have thought that there was a chance that Chris Duarte would be playing against ASU on Thursday. But, in this article from Duck Territory, there's a chance that Duarte and Eric Williams could be back.
  20. Maybe, but it's a poll based wholly on speculation and whatever else, to generate a response in February.
  21. Justin is doing us proud! This is just another example of what a great kid he is. He comes in to the season, not even expecting to play, he ends up setting NFL records, wins the ROTY, and rather than sit back and relax, he's working to get better!
