  1. Even though my stepfather was a die hard beaver, we always shared an appreciation for the Army Navy        game, especially when Uncle George, his brother could join us.

George was a Navy Vet, and a survivor of the Arizona, and Dad went from Normandy to the Battle of the Bulge.

The rivalry was strong in those two!

After the game, it was not unusual to see them hug it out, followed by bawling while watching a re-run of "White Christmas", or some other war movie, while reminiscing of comrades they'd lost.

You certainly behaved better than a lot of us would have probably.  He was clearly trying to bait you (pun intended) into an argument - to ruin your day on the river.  I hope you had a great day anyway!

Best fuskie retort would have been to quietly hold up a nice brace of steelhead to share your joy in the occasion.

Better yet, hook and land a nice one directly under his butt sniffer!

  3. My family has attend ed both Oregon and OSU, but I have no divided loyalty.

    DUCKS, all the way.

My daughter was a classmate of DAT and Pharaoh Brown (she rven had an almost identical knee injury to his... not the greatest connection, eh).

My son worked as an aid to Former Duck  associate hc/TE coach, Neal Zoumboukus.

My step dad played for Beavis, and was a rabid fan of that poor benighted program. I never quite got his love for the Great Pumpkin.

    Ducks by 22!

    Works for me!

  4. I worked in a production facility for 20+ years, and was massively under compensated for more than half that time.

I was personally producing 60+% of the daily output of the 16 man department I was associated with.

Most of the disparity was created by the fact that there was no incentive for the rest of the crew to perform at a higher level, both quantity and quality wise.

When management finally listened and established a profit sharing program related to those two characteristics, I was asked to be the crew foreman.

I was able to show the other employees how to use that as incentive  to significantly improve their position.

The problem was, other departments failed to take advantage of that opportunity, and began to whine about having to work overtime to keep up with my team.

Management's solution was to decide that since we unfairly took advantage of the situation, the program was canceled, and everyone fell back into mediocrity.

I found someplace else to pursue my family's financial security!

Sounds similar to the PAC's fate, in some ways...

Chattanooga Mocs @ Alabama should be quite exciting. 😉

Now that's how to schedule games late in the season.

    Must see TV, IMO.

    What channel is it on?

Oh, wait! Seatgeek still has tix available for the 11am kickoff, starting at $3/each!

    Let's GO!

  6. The weather shouldn't be any excuse, today... it's supposed to get all the way up into the 70's, with a chance of showers.

I've attended a few games down there where the temperature has been closer to 105.

The Ducks need focus and determination.

Certainly, they have the skill and talent, but need desperately to avoid shooting themselves in the foot (or anyplace else, for that matter!).

    Go DUCKS!
