You raise an interesting concept David but I wouldn't count USC out of the game just yet. We'll have to see how they are in the execution of their plan. We should know by game 4 of the season if we play USC or Utah in the Pac-12 championship game. I can't wait to find out.

Don't forget Washington is only three people away from being a great contender, an HC, an OC and a DC.

IMO Frost is still trying to run the old Chip program from his days at Oregon and was so successful for him at UCF. Chip, at UCLA has moved on from those days. It may be that Keanon Lowe wants more of the old Chip program. My problem with Frost is that he is not an X's and O's innovator. He can however run an good offense that someone else has created.

With all respect, a new coach and a (hopefully) a turnaround season don't make a "This could be The Year". Unless of course you mean a "get out of the gutter year".

You raise some interesting questions UtahDuck. I don't pretend to have the answers but it will be interesting to look for them during the season prep and in game play.

You might be right about Shough and Brown transferring out but I think we would be ok. We have Butterfield whom I think could be better then Shough or Brown. If Thompson and Butterfield both get knocked out then it doesn't matter who QB's because the season is lost anyway.
