As I am stuck out here on the East Coast, my choices are limited for good sports talk radio. My satellite connection gives me national sports talk and of course there are the various Duck podcasts. I was wondering if there are any local Eugene stations that have sports talk throughout the day? I can’t seem to find any by using my TuneIn app and now I can’t even listen to Jerry Allen on game day, as that is no longer free.

So I wasn’t nervous before Charles article, but now it is hitting me. I live on the east coast and am always preaching about my Ducks, but they often get shot out of the sky on the biggest stage and return to earth. One noted exception was when I got to attend the Oregon vs FSU game at the Rose Bowl. Problem was, that joy and national perception only lasted one week as tOSU blasted us the next week. My pessimistic hope is that we at least keep it close and not be embarrassed. Either way, I will continue to support my Ducks. But deep down, like Charlie Browns dream, I would love to finally kick that ball right out of Lucy’s hand!

With Bama going down to Vanderbilt, that should also sour George’s close Loss to the Tide. Thus undefeated Oregon should be ahead of both in the polls this week. Of course it won’t matter for long as the Ohio State game this week will really determine where the Ducks stand. I am just curious to see if the SEC bias will continue to reign supreme in the rankings?

Obviously, he is very good. But is he that much better than the rest of Oregon's receivers that he is getting so many more catches and looks his way? Is it a good thing or a bad thing that he has become such a security blanket for Gabriel? Just wondering if anybody has had similar questions after watching the last few games?

Watching Wisconsin and USuC. Boring as hell. Not the least impressed or worried about either team. I'm going to go cut my lawn. 🥱

We already had West Coast eyeballs. An 11 PM East Coast start gets nobody on the East Coast other than duck fans watching these games. I feel like it puts us in the same spot as before. I feel we are going to have to beat Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State on the regular for programming to be earlier. Snookered indeed.

Receiver side note/question: have we had a Justin Dickey sighting this season?

It just stinks that they could possibly have an easier path for a playoff paycheck after playing a gauntlet of tomato can state universities.

Not saying that they will be even sniffing the playoffs this year, but did the formation of the six pac give that conference an automatic bid? Does that mean in the future that all the rodents have to do is be better than the Aztecs and the rest of the homeless teams gathering around the embers of what was formally the Pac 12?

East Coast duck fan here. 11 PM start time is just stupid. Boise state killed me when I tried to go to sleep after at 2:30 AM.

End of the first quarter and I am not scared of Ohio State. Marshall is playing very patient and moving the ball with a nice variety of run and pass. No gimmicks just taking what Ohio State is giving.

Damn. It’s almost midnight here on the east coast and I have nightmares before going to bed.

I am with you Chuck! It was track and field that gave me an Oregon team that I could root for in the mid 80s. The football team was not what it is today, But track and field was competing for titles. One of my fondest memories was being 13 years old with my dad sitting in the old grandstands yelling “Cruz” for Joaquim Cruz who brought Oregon a men’s track and field title in 1984 by doubling up and winning in the 800 and 1500 meters. Man that guy was smooth! The Crouser brothers for the javelin and shot put, as well as comparatively little Ken Flax in the hammer throw were a joy to watch. The funniest part of being there for that national championship, is this little story: My dad spotted Joe Avezzano, the Oregon State football coach in the stands. I believe Joe had the worst three or four year record in college football at the time for the beavers. My dad said that he would give me five bucks if I would go up to him and get his autograph. We hated the beavers, so it was so hard to do, but hey, I was 13 and it would take me an hour and a half to mow my neighbors lawn for five bucks. So I got the autograph and the five bucks. I can’t remember what I spent the five bucks on but I still have the autographed program guide to this day.

I heard somewhere that he could possibly delay or skip his mission. Not sure if that is in play.

I love everything that Josh Pate is saying. It gets me fired up for the future. Only one thing I disagree on is that, “ no Oregon coach has turned down a premier program to stay at Oregon.” I do recall that Mike Belotti turned down USC while he was coaching the ducks. But a bright outlook indeed.

Anybody know if he got any stats at South Carolina last year?

Great points to ponder. I didn’t think it was as close before your article. maybe Marcus gets the nod for the extra couple years in the program? A side note: Pro football hall of famer Mel Renfro does not have a w at the end of his name but perhaps he should for, “winner”. Also, I would personally not include Dion Jordan on that list based on your criteria but definitely Ngata.
