Oh gosh, this was posted yesterday and many of us wondered if it was a Halloween prank? A cast on his right hand?

Yep, it is the 2024 Oregon B1G SURPRISE Tour, as none believe it until they play us. I've stated many times this would happen, as Ohio State thought they would just come into Autzen, make it quiet, and "take care" of our "nice little team" in Eugene. They and their fans got surprised, and Michigan fans are in for the same. We are the Rodney Dangerfield of the B1G...

So perfectly stated....

I want them and Illinois to keep winning to bolster our cred. As for Ohio State and Penn State....that is good-or-good to me!

It is only a matter of time, (or rolling out the playbook later in the Playoffs) that we will see him go long, and out-jump the safety or linebacker covering him.

You know...maybe that would be best? Let Penn State be No. 1, and it gives our players motivation hammer them in the B1G Championship.. I just want to win the next four games first.

Other astute OBD members here, (maybe you were one of them?) pointed out how it is much worse going west than going east. Wouldn't that be a hoot to find out that the rest of the B1G is at the disadvantage when bringing us into the conference, and not us so much?

Once in a while, I still miss my beloved Abbie, who was often in my CK videos a dozen years ago. We always dressed her up for Halloween, and I wrote a tribute to her right here, as she was quite the dog. Have you got anything spooky to share?

Who is going to be the Hunted?

No true knowledge here, but my WAG. We had declining numbers of season ticket renewals that only turned around in 2023, thus the "waiting list" notion is mistaken, I believe. It sure looks like a ton of Ohio State fans did buy season tickets, but the surprise is how they are not selling the other games to Oregon fans? It looked like a ton of empty seats on TV..

Oregon teams prior to Dan Lanning would have difficulty in the B1G, (IMHO) because we did not have enough talent or depth in the trenches...especially at defensive line. Lanning's arrival and recruiting set us up perfectly to compete and win better than any Oregon team of the past. Lucky timing for us!

Joel Klatt of Fox is now a believer, and is picking the Ducks to win and cover against Michigan. "I'm sorry Duck fans, I know exactly what you're going to say," Klatt continued. "Listen, I can't ignore my own eyes with what I'm seeing from you guys every single week. Better, and better, and better. Every great team gets better every single week and plays their best at the end of the season. An article in The Athletic, by Austin Meek, who used to write for the Eugene Register-Guard, had some interesting quotes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From Dan Lanning: "We have our own internal goals and our plan of what we want to be. To me, it looks like us playing our best football at the end of the season.” My Duck-Buddies, that quote above explains so much, as why is everything different this year with scoring, player substitutions, when freshmen play, playbooks being opened, etc. The difference is the new 12 team Playoff, thus business is not done as in the past. From Rob Mullens: Oregon’s move to the Big Ten brought stability, exposure and guaranteed revenue streams that were lacking in the tumultuous final months of the Pac-12. “The exposure, the reach, the connection that happens with that is great, not only for Oregon football, but for all of Oregon athletics,” Mullens said, noting that Saturday’s game on CBS will be the seventh consecutive network TV appearance for the Ducks. “We’re getting more traffic in the visitors’ center, more clicks on the website, more people taking a deeper look.” Oregon had record season ticket sales in part because of that game, and Eugene’s airport set a record for departing flights the next day, Mullens said. “It was a chamber of commerce weekend,” Mullens said. “‘GameDay’ was here, national television crowd, a record crowd at Autzen Stadium.
