  1. Two points... 1) Yes SC cheats, but so does most of the SEC, the other elite teams, etc. Yet Oregon will prosper and is doing fine under Dan Lanning. For 2024 recruiting, the Ducks are currently ranked No. 10 while USC is No. 68 and again...the Ducks were in the top ten in 2023. We will do fine versus their cheating, and discussing tampering ad infinitum doesn't change anything. 2) It won't be long before we can tell the B1G that concerning USC...
  2. I love the ISO play, as it turns a TE effectively into a fullback--or a trapping guard! Fun for all and THANKS.
  3. We don't post articles that require subscriptions because we can't read it. If you could summarize....
  4. He is doing well, based on interviews with Coach Terry; the Texas transfer is injured and sitting out at the moment.
  5. Well, they (RJ Gordon and Isaac Ayon) have not even played yet. I wrote of this in prior Baseball threads--of how Waz had to make-do with Freshmen, and while inconsistent as freshmen will be--have helped Oregon a ton. Speaking of which--we start freshman Leo Uelmen at noon today on the hill... The good news I wrote of is the amazing development of the veterans who began to come on late last season, (Stoffal and Mercado) and have overcome some bumps along the way. (Like giving up 10 runs in two innings at Arizona!) Buy stock in Oregon Baseball--there is a high upside....
  6. Agreed. It is an interesting item to ponder, but has nothing to do with the amazing last two days of Oregon Baseball.
  7. “North” teams have not won a Baseball ‘Natty in 30 years, and the exception was Oregon State. And the LA schools won’t be in the sunshine as much, no doubt. Traveling back east for a full three-game series will be a full travel day both directions. But they and everyone (including us) would do it for the money.
  8. Stanford was leading the league in wins, and has arguably the most potent scoring offense. Yet they have only scored ONE run in two games versus Oregon pitching that has left us breathless from their effectiveness. Roseburg native Jace Stoffal held the 'Furd scoreless last night with only three hits, as this was not over five or six innings, but he went all nine innings! Then we saw Logan Mercado also go NINE innings today for the first time in his career with no relief, and yet he only gave up one run with five scattered hits. It is the darndest back-to-back games for Oregon pitching I have ever seen. And this was against the No. 8 (or No. 7) team in the nation? (4-0 win Friday) Mercado threw for 92 mph in the 9th inning after 100 pitches? The growth and development of both pitchers over the last two years is something to behold and be proud of as Oregon fans--as I am blown away. Last night our battling lineup got to a Top-100 Draft pick pitcher with a 2.58 ERA coming into the game. Today the Ducks gave the hot-shot freshman Cardinal pitcher his first college loss and the most runs ever given up. (He had an incredible 2.09 ERA coming into the game) An 8-1 win... Jacob Walsh has three homers in two games, so the Ducks have a number of candidates for Pac-12 Players/Pitchers of the Week. Whew! Great crowd, and Coach Waz has quite a luxury of being able to pull the starter on Sunday (noon) if he is not sharp out of the gate because we have the ENTIRE bullpen available! The most fresh arms ever for a third game, and if Oregon could win it--the Ducks would be square in the Pac-12 championship race. Just WOW. Logan Mercado exults...
  9. Keith Brown is a junior and knows this year is it. His chances are nil at Money Linebacker with Jeffrey Bassa and Jamal Hill, but the Iowa transfer at ILB must look good enough to him to make him take his chances elsewhere. It's too bad, but I understand.
  10. My view? Save the contests with the top-five teams for the Playoff! The objective of Oregon's schedule is to get to the Playoff, and we are handicapped enough with a nine game conference schedule. You can get hurt inadvertently...
  11. What Coach Terry said in the interview below is amazing from so many angles. You will learn a ton about so many areas, and yes--hearing him say those things about Dan Lanning and the objectives of the program was exciting! (So many thanks to Pennsylvania Duck for originally posting this video)
  12. It was amazing watching Eugene native Bryce Boettcher, a safety on the football team hit a home run on Wednesday night. He got on base all-six times he was at-bat, and three of them were hit-by-pitches! That never happens, nor the home run by a football player, yet if anyone is built to take repeated blows to a strong body--it is Boettcher! Oregon takes on No. 8 Stanford at PK Park, and this is an opportunity to climb the standings and increase our shot at the NCAA tournament. The Ducks are already holding an RPI of No. 13, and have a Strength-of-Schedule ranked at No. 7 coming from five Ducks who are hitting over .300 with others who are close. Tonight's starter at 5:05 PM PST Jace Stoffal (the pride of Roseburg!) has brought his ERA down to 3.31 and is coming off being the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week for holding Oregon State scoreless, and to only one hit in last Friday's game. Do it again Jace! As so many of the freshman relievers improve--we see their ERAs decline as are some of the veterans. Fr. Ian Umlandt 3.18 Fr. Matthew Grabmann 2.77 Sr. Matt Dallas 2.33 Jr. Austin Anderson .56 Sr. Josh Mollerus 0.00 This stud mowed down the last six batters to preserve the 5-3 victory on Tuesday! Bryce Boettcher at the plate... Coach Waz is gradually building back baseball at Oregon, and I believe he will eventually turn the Ducks into a national power. We are two experienced starting pitchers away from being an "Omaha-Bound" team, and eventually it will happen. Too bad Oregon lost two of last year's starting pitchers to injury and have not played yet this year, but the core of freshmen pitchers recruited with the development program in place will bring winning results in the future. For now....22-9 doesn't suck! (Go to GoDucks.com, then Sports, then Baseball, then Schedule, and scroll down to the game and click on "Watch)
  13. Arizona Cardinals? And I would have thought Utah would be higher. Winning there this year is a low-probability...
  14. Imagine how the Athletic Department could sell "holographic seats" in the stadium? Be there, and part of the crowd perhaps while at home...anywhere in the world? I can't picture it. But in 1969 I could not picture a communicator on Star Trek becoming real either.
  15. Oregon has had a TON of great offensive linemen who were 3-Star projects with high upside. You want those kind of guys to grow into being a starter, or at least push the starters.
  16. Agreed. And it will give a 5-6 year window to boost the numbers of Oregon fans watching due to the streaming option available in the new package. Oregon should be in a cat-bird seat when this new media contract expires.
  17. I agree with Happy, in that we have to win at least 12 games, and impressively for Bo to have a chance. And our progression on defense could have a lot to do with winning...
  18. You, me and so many others Annie. As I have said to Jon Joseph often, "we are dinosaurs in this culture!" Not how I want egg-on-my-face...
  19. I can’t disagree until the Ducks do better. I no longer assume the best considering the massive underperformance of recent Oregon teams.
  20. Yep. And why Dilly would risk injury with a third plunge between the tackles with the team's most valuable asset....geez. But I've covered that enough, and it does show that even the most gifted OC can make big mistakes.
  21. Amen. Like the QB option on the Zone Read....just the threat opens things up. When you don't throw long--defenders can cheat up closer and nearly be in the box for run-support. Yet a promised long-ball threat opens up running lanes, and the shorter pass patterns. Stein has stated often already that he simply wants to attack where the defense is weak. One-on-one coverage on Troy Franklin is a good match-up for Our Beloved Ducks!
