  1. Grinsell gutted out the seventh inning with 114 pitches, and with the Ducks at the plate....Justin Cassella got a hit! Then stole second! Then Carter Garate got ANOTHER big hit to score Cassella. 1-0 with an out to go...
  2. 0-0 after six innings, and Grinsell has pitched 110 pitches thus far!
  3. 0-0 after two innings, with not even a base runner in the second inning by either team.
  4. 0-0 after one inning. Beautiful evening there, and very crisp definition on streaming. Oregon uniforms look especially sharp!
  5. We are looking to put together a group who need tickets, lodging, etc. as NJDuck and I are planning to go, and would love to meet some of you for a memorable experience. It will not be until a year from this fall, but we would like to see preliminary interest so we can begin the research. Let me know by replying below or if you like...email me charles@fishduck.com and I'll count you in the "interested" group. You are not bound to this at all, we just want to see if enough others want to make this "Bucket-List" trip in 2025. This is open to ALL Duck fans, not just OBD forum members! If you are a reader here, and follow Our Beloved Ducks, then do join us! NJDuck and I plan to be the GREEN DOT in the crowd!
  6. Wildcats lost to Dallas Baptist 7-0! SEC teams Vanderbilt lost to lost to High Point (?) 10-9, and Alabama lost to Stetson 4-0! Both are eliminated as well. Oregon and Oregon State play at 7:00 PM tonight.
  7. Interesting how the writer clearly respects Dan Lanning, and wants him as far away from Oregon and the B1G as possible? Respect for Dan, and backhanded stuff at Oregon? Ohio State? Oregon is coming for you!
  8. The four new teams from the Pac-12 are going to dominate quite a few sports in the B1G, and that will certainly create some resentment. It has begun!
  9. Another example of how little they really know about Oregon...and they don't want to. I am surprised that a Buckeye writer would feel so threatened...so soon! Seeing green does that to some...
  10. Wowsa. That is a hit-piece worthy of what a Beaver fan would write, but the problem is--it is a poorly researched, poorly reasoned, and a poorly written article. Quite few clumsy sentences, and if that writing was presented for FishDuck.com...I would have our wonderful volunteer editors fix it first. So, you should never coach at a school that has never won a 'Natty? Not a good job because previous coaches left because they could not make it a great destination? (BTW...just how did the last two coaches do who left?) No mention of how long Bellotti was here before--the writer was just looking for negative, which makes me wonder who his favorite team is? Must be a team we are competing against for some big recruits, and I think Jon nailed that intention. "Oregon was one of the biggest brands in the PAC-12. They might not even be a Top Five brand in the Big Ten. If things start rough for them this season, which could happen, the program could start to take a turn for the worse because upcoming recruits could see this and not want to join the team and go to a place like Ohio State and Michigan, where they know they will be able to win." Take a turn for the worse with THIS returning team? The beginning of B1G hate for Oregon?
  11. GCU was a team that Oregon beat twice in a mid-week series earlier this season, prior to playing Arizona State. But I am sure Grand Canyon did not have their best pitchers on hand for us in a mid-week set of games. But for the 'Lopes to hit that well on the Wildcats? Geez.... Meanwhile the Bastard Beavers beat Tulane, 10-4, and will face UC Irvine tonight. (A very tough game) The SEC went 9-2, but pulled out some very close one-run victories. (Damn!) Oregon has to keep winning, and we really need Jacob Walsh to get out of his hitting slump. Carter Garate had a career game last night at the plate, and at the "hot-corner." I have subscribed to ESPN+ and will give you updates as time permits tonight... The NCAA site for checking Baseball Tournament scores is right here, along with brackets, etc.
  12. See updates at the bottom of this thread... -------------------------------------------------------------- Santa Barbara beat Fresno State last night 9-6, and thus will face Oregon tonight at 7:00 PM on ESPN+. I have subscribed, and will be giving minor updates through the game, but it is hard to get it done while game action is going on, as the breaks between innings are not long enough for me to write. Earlier in the season, UCSB split with UCLA, and swept three games from UConn, who is in the tournament as a No. 3 seed, (32-23) and won in their first round game. Below is more information from 247Sports, but the bottom line is that they are a very good team--just as Oregon is! UCSB are 43-12 with a 26-4 Big-West conference record, and are winners of their last 15 straight. They've been in the top 25 in all major polls for a majority of the season, and are more than deserving of the No. 14 overall seed and a regional host. The Gauchos are built similarly to the Toreros, with an offense that does plenty of damage, but the rotation and bullpen can carry the team no matter what. Coached by former Oregon assistant Andrew Checketts, the Gauchos' pitching staff is menacing. Here's their likely three-game rotation for the Santa Barbara Regional: RHP Ryan Gallagher - 9-1, 83.0 IP, 2.27 ERA, .82 WHIP, 93 K, 22 BB RHP Tyler Bremner - 11-0, 82.0 IP, 2.68 ERA, .84 WHIP, 96 K LHP Mike Gutierrez - 9-0, 84.2 IP, 3.19 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, 82 K Not bad. Oh, and they feature top 100 MLB Draft prospect Matt Ager out of the bullpen. The Ducks and Gauchos met earlier this season, with UCSB taking the first two games of a three-game series. In a windy and rainy PK Park, the Gauchos offense wasn't the star of the show for obvious reasons but the staff was. Ager dominated in his start but the Ducks likely won't have to worry about that this time around. Offensively, UCSB is a solid squad, headlined by Aaron Parker and Jessada Brown. Zander Darby is No. 132 in the MLB.com top 150 draft prospects but has had a bit of a down year by his standards. Parker is leading the team with a .374 batting average with an OPS above 1.000, coupled with 11 home runs and 50 RBIs. Brown features a .351 batting average with a .972 OPS with eight home runs and 38 RBIs. Ivan Brethowr leads the team with 14 home runs, as the 6-foot-6 outfielder is slugging nearly .600. We need Bryce Boettcher to keep it going!
  13. Extra-inning heroics from Boettcher and Mercado propel Oregon to victory over San Diego 247SPORTS.COM Oregon comes out from game one victorious, as Bryce Boettcher's 11th-inning home run puts them ahead for good.
  14. OK...I can have a bowel movement now. Things were pretty puckered up there for a while. Oregon wins 5-4! Oregon lead 4-1 going into the top of the 8th inning, and then Brock Moore gave up a three run homer to tie it. Logan Mercado came in held San Diego scoreless for four innings, and Bryce Boettcher hit a homer in the 11th for the difference!
  15. 3-1 Ducks after seven innings as RJ Gordon has gone all seven innings, pitched 109 pitches, and held the Toreros to only one run? Whew! The inning before we had a sweet double play to finish off the sixth. Seven down, two more...
  16. Yes, I should clarify. I do not mind 9:30 AM games PST if it is because it is a huge featured away B1G game at 12:30 EST on Fox. Just not a home game...
  17. 3-1 Ducks! (After six innings) Omigosh! A suicide squeeze for a run!
