  1. The respect is clearly not yet there...
  2. After watching the game again....I don't think that was the reason for Penn State run-gashing us. We did not set the edge well, and when our defensive tackles were both double-teamed--our linebackers did not come up and fill the gaps fast enough, IMHO. This is not your normal Penn State; that offense has become much more highly skilled as they burned us on pass plays that only a great OC can create, and a QB can implement. Their balanced attack kept us off-guard and hesitant, and that new OC for them has completely changed the outlook for the 'Lions for next year. PSU already had really fast defenders, a defense that was tough, but adding an offense that is now becoming more skilled and attaining their confidence makes them a much more difficult team. They will be a 'Natty contender now...this year and beyond. They absolutely are a 'Natty contender this year...
  3. Good grief. He says it out loud...what we've always known the nation was thinking... "The Ducks aren't going anywhere. They have been an elite program for years now, but because they played in the Pac-12, not everyone took them entirely seriously." Wow. There is it, brutally out-loud. While leaving the Pac-12 was sad, but the best thing for us by a mile.
  4. Whoever loses this Rose Bowl game...will have fans that are crushed. This will be a very tough game for either side to lose...
  5. Let me see if I got this right.... The NFL has a Playoff system that works. The NCAA Basketball Tournament has a Playoff system that works. The NCAA Baseball and nearly all other sports has a Playoff system that works. FCS has a Playoff system that works. Division II and Division III football have a Playoff system that works. But FBS Football?
  6. This thread will be up through the weekend, but I will add to it. So keep checking back for new ones after these... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So...how do you like our new "humor" feature at the OBD Forum? You know me--gotta have some fun!
  7. My beloved "Abbie" was a great Oregon fan...
  8. It has been a while since we did this, and even if you have shared one before.... post a picture of your pets/animals you have or have had in your past. It is a slow time before the Playoffs, so let's have some fun... "This is why dogs bite people..."
  9. I think Oregon came out with intensity the first time they play osu2, and I would be surprised if they came out flat in the Rose Bowl. Lanning has had them more mentally prepared than other coaches in the past. I LOVE being the slight underdog to offset the psychological advantage osu2 has from losing the first meeting.
  10. "I believe in integrity." Take a look at this string of Alabama players and their brand new cars and trucks BEFORE the NIL existed. Flat-out cheating...
  11. Yep, we got time to blow before our next game, and I am already weary of all the Rose Bowl analysis. Naturally, I have to add to it! A couple of items from the B1G Championship game to pass along for thought... First: Did you see Dillon Gabriel go through a routine when he approached the huddle after a kick-off touchback? He would make the sign of the cross, and then wave his hands into a pattern going up, out, and then meeting his fingers at the bottom. It looked like he was making the outline of...angel wings? We all have our superstitions or blessings we like to employ, and I will admit to not noticing this before. He does it quickly, so he is not trying to draw attention to it, but I noticed it more than once. I believe he is Christian, but I do not know if he is Catholic, as that seems like something a Catholic might do. Interesting, as I have not seen that before in sports... (Taken from my own experience as Catholic, and yeah...I'm a Christian, but I never said I wear a halo, or was noble) Second: I noticed that both Tez Johnson and Dillon Gabriel did NOT fight for extra yardage or take-on a tackler near the sideline. They simply got as far as they could and stepped out. In the case of Tez, he did that, and after catching a pass over the middle and making two tacklers miss--he was approached head-on by two more defenders, and simply went down. Good! He would not have made any more yardage, and this kept him from getting injured. I assume his shoulder is not fully healed, and perhaps this is the "deal" he made with the medical staff in order to play? Regardless, I applaud it. Stay healthy to fight another down... Third: There were no touchdown passes to Kenyon Sadiq during season, but two wonderfully designed plays for him to score touchdowns in the first quarter? A wheel route where he hurdled the guy, and a second coming out of the backfield from the H-Back position. Starting to unveil more of the playbook--GOOD! I've got more that will be in a semi-analysis article later this week. Thoughts? P.S. We have had thousands of Buckeye fans reading this forum, as I noted huge numbers of readers last night, and when I checked a couple IP Addresses....they were in Ohio!
  12. From Jon... Penn State wins eighth women's volleyball title as Katie Schumacher-Cawley becomes first female coach champion - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Schumacher-Cawley becomes the first female coach to win the national title amid her cancer battle
  13. Right. A three-loss team that included losses to .500 teams should be allowed in? Saban is SO PROUD!
  14. No doubt, this is the highest the Ducks have been ranked this early, in a very long time. (If ever!) Yet we have players who are not shooting well, and others still getting it together. If it all happens--this is a very scary team that can make some noise! Supreme Cook, (above) is just beginning to emerge...
  15. Oregon lost in the Sweet Sixteen, barely, in the fifth set to then No. 1 Pittsburg. However yesterday it was Penn State winning another 'Natty in the sport. Below is from The Athletic, and it is impressive on many fronts.
  16. Sixth best chance to win the 'Natty? Really? Bastards.
