Holy Crap! Oregon Surges to No. 6, and Beavis Has to "Duck"
In terms of RPI rankings, Oregon is No. 34 with the NCAA, and No. 35 with Warren Nolan who is well recognized. Got some more work to do!

B1G Baseball Race....'So We Have a Chance?'
We do have a chance to win the conference championship, but we gotta win a ton, and things need to fall our way. There are some B1G series this weekend that can help Our Beloved Ducks, as UCLA plays USC, and this is one time to actually root for the Trojans to win their series versus the Bruins. We also have a B1G series in Seattle, as Iowa travels to play the Bastard-Huskies, thus we have to hold our nose, and hope that Washington sticks two losses on the Hawkeyes. The remaining schedule has the Ducks play at Oregon State on Tuesday, three games at Michigan State this weekend, (with two midweek home games versus St. Marys next week) then at home for three against the Bastard-Huskies, and finish at Iowa for three games. (Schedule is right here) And of course...a sweep at Michigan State could help a TON, but it will not be easy. They are 23-19, and 9-12 in B1G play. They did win one off of Iowa, and of course--like when we played the damn Buckeyes at their home--their players will give us their very best effort. Let's Go Ducks! Incredible plays at 3rd base by Carter Garate this last weekend!

Holy Crap! Oregon Surges to No. 6, and Beavis Has to "Duck"
OK...that big THUD you heard outside was Mr. FishDuck coming back to earth. Oregon is ranked No. 10 in the USA TODAY Baseball poll, and No. 12 in Baseball America. I have focused on D1Baseball, as most do, but we cannot ignore the other major polls. This means that if the Ducks win the majority of their remaining games, then they should be a shoo-in to host a NCAA Playoff Regional Series at PK Park. But they have a stretch to host a Super-Regional, and that would come only if Oregon won nearly all their games remaining. It is possible as they play at Oregon State on Tuesday, three games at Michigan State this weekend, (with two mid-week home games versus St. Marys next week) then at home for three against the Bastard-Huskies, and finish at Iowa for three games. Let's Go Ducks! Another Dom-Bomb coming!

Holy Crap! Oregon Surges to No. 6, and Beavis Has to "Duck"
The unbelievable weekend generated an unbelievable result in the D1Baseball polls for Our Beloved Ducks. They went from No. 16 last week to No. 6 in the nation, while Oregon State dropped from No. 3 to a very respectable No.7...having to Duck-below their rival in Eugene in the poll. What is interesting also is how the west coast has three teams in the top 10, (as does the ACC) and I am not sure I have witnessed both Oregon and Oregon State in the top ten EVER at the same time. I am sure I will have a press release coming to me soon about the historical significance of this week's poll. Regardless, it is a proud moment for College Baseball in the state of Oregon! The only other team ranked in the top-25 from the B1G is No. 14 UCLA, while Iowa is unranked. I assume it is because the majority of their wins are against sub-.500 teams, but it will get settled when the Ducks travel to Iowa City for the final three-game series of the conference season in three weeks. D1Baseball Top 25: Texas remains No. 1; chaos reigns throughout rankings • D1Baseball D1BASEBALL.COM While Texas remains the No. 1 team in the land, the rest of the rankings are filled with carnage after a tumultuous Week 11. For the first time EVER...they feature a picture of Oregon Baseball at D1Baseball for their lead rankings article! That is Cole Stokes exulting at a key strike-out late in the second game... My Duck-Buddies....I NEVER thought last weekend would happen, as I hoped for a split between the four games in order to have a chance at hosting a NCAA Playoff Regional Series. But now...if we keep winning most of our remaining games--we have a shot at hosting a Super-Regional? Holy Crap!

Oregon SWEEPS Beavis & for the First Time EVER Sweeps a No. 3 Ranked Team, 3-2!
I stated going into the UCLA series that up to that time...for every team we played....we were the hunted, the ranked team they wanted to beat, and everybody raised their game when they played us. I was hoping that facing a higher set of ranked teams in No. 10 UCLA and No. 3 Oregon State, that we were now the hunter--and it would inspire our best efforts which would not only win games, but allow the team to see their true upside. And THAT is what happened!

Oregon SWEEPS Beavis & for the First Time EVER Sweeps a No. 3 Ranked Team, 3-2!
Sweep! Ducks Beat Beavers Again on Sunday EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon baseball has been searching for some consistency. For three days, at least, the Ducks found it, with historic results. The UO baseball team completed a sweep against a top-three opponent for the first time Sunday, with the No. 13 Ducks beating No. 3 Oregon State, 3-2, before the third consecutive sellout crowd at PK Park. Oregon came into the weekend playing .500 baseball over its previous 14 games, but finished off its first sweep of OSU since 2021. “It's huge,” said UO senior first baseman Jacob Walsh, who homered in all three games. “I think it shows everyone how good we really are. It's a good weekend to start building off of going into the end of the season.” The Ducks (30-12) came from behind Sunday, with Maddox Molony driving in a run after Walsh’s fourth-inning homer to make it 2-1, before Molony’s second homer in as many days provided much-needed insurance in the sixth. That made a winner of Jason Reitz (2-0), and Santiago Garcia earned his second save as the UO bullpen got the last six outs after OSU made it a one-run game again. “That's a good team that we played, and we were able to win today and get a couple more on the weekend to beat a good team,” UO coach Mark Wasikowski said. “So, yeah, I think that was probably good for our guys to be able to see that and see that we can win a lot of different ways.” Jason Reitz How It Happened: After Reitz faced the minimum in the top of the first, the Ducks struck out three times in the bottom of the inning against OSU starter Ethan Kleinschmit — kicking off a game in which Oregon struck out 17 times. But as Wasikowski said, they found a way regardless. Reitz temporarily lost command with two outs in the second, walking four straight batters as the Beavers took a 1-0 lead. Wasikowski said the coaching staff was considering a pitching change to start the third, but Reitz lobbied to stay in the game, and UO pitching allowed a lone solo home run the rest of the way. “I’m so proud of the guys,” said Reitz, who allowed only one hit and the one run over five innings. “It was so fun to be around, and I think that's a really good step for us. Everyone came in with the mentality of just getting after it and not backing down from anyone.” The Ducks were hitless with seven strikeouts through three innings. That all changed in the fourth, when Walsh ambushed the first pitch of the inning for his UO-record 54th career homer. “I got that one pretty good,” he said. “That was a nice one.” Oregon continued to take advantage of opportunities on the basepaths, as Drew Smith followed Walsh’s homer with a walk, was bunted to second and stole third. Molony then gave Oregon the lead with an RBI single to center. Santiago Garcia celebrates his final strike vs. Oregon State Ian Umlandt replaced Reitz to start the sixth and pitching around a leadoff single. Molony made it 3-1 in the bottom of the inning, with a two-out homer in an inning when Kleinschmit struck out three more Ducks. Umlandt left after a leadoff homer in the eighth, and Cole Stokes came on to preserve the 3-2 lead. Seth Mattox and Garcia combined to pitch the ninth, in front of a jubilant PK Park crowd that produced so much noise Garcia had to step off the mound at one point because he couldn’t hear the pitch call in his ear. “It’s awesome,” Garcia said of pitching in that atmosphere. “Man, coming from JUCO with like 24 people watching us and going straight to here, it was pretty good.” Garcia entered with one out and a runner on second before retiring the side, striking out the final hitter of the game. Up Next: The Ducks play at Oregon State on Tuesday (5:30 p.m., Pac-12 Insider).

Oregon SWEEPS Beavis & for the First Time EVER Sweeps a No. 3 Ranked Team, 3-2!
Oregon Wins 3-2 over Oregon State for the first sweep of a top three team EVER in program history! Seth Mattox came out to the hill for the Ducks, and gave up a double on the first batter, and then Santiago Garcia came in and put Beavis away. The last batter was a very dramatic strike-out, and the crowd went nuts. What a win! More coming!

Oregon SWEEPS Beavis & for the First Time EVER Sweeps a No. 3 Ranked Team, 3-2!
3-2 Ducks after eight innings, as Umlandt gave up a homer to Beavis, and Cole Stokes blew his 97 mph stuff for Oregon to close the side. Ducks strand two on base at the end of the eighth....we need three more outs!

Oregon SWEEPS Beavis & for the First Time EVER Sweeps a No. 3 Ranked Team, 3-2!
3-1 Ducks after seven innings, as Oregon's Ian Umlandt stopped the Beavis scoring threat again... Oregon really has great fielding, as Anson Aroz makes a diving catch to rob a base hit!

Oregon SWEEPS Beavis & for the First Time EVER Sweeps a No. 3 Ranked Team, 3-2!
3-1 Ducks after six innings, as The Pride of Sherwood Oregon, Ian Umlandt, kept Beavis scoreless in the inning, while the Pride of Springfield, Maddox Molony, crushed a pitch to Oregon State bullpen to add another score! Think the Civil War games mean something to in-state players?

Oregon SWEEPS Beavis & for the First Time EVER Sweeps a No. 3 Ranked Team, 3-2!
2-1 Ducks after five innings, as Oregon's Jason Reitz put down the Oregon State batters 1-2-3. Ducks could not produce any runs this inning, and I see that Ian Umlandt, The Pride of Sherwood Oregon, is coming out to pitch the sixth. This in-state player that would love to spoil things for Beavis.

Oregon SWEEPS Beavis & for the First Time EVER Sweeps a No. 3 Ranked Team, 3-2!
2-1 Ducks after four innings, as Reitz put Beavis down easily, and the Oregon bats got going! First we have Jacob Walsh evening up the score in a way that only HE can... When it is evident we have a tight game, Coach Waz is able to switch to Small-Ball to score. Drew Smith draws a walk, and then Anson Aroz bunt-sacrificed to move him to second. Then Smith steals third, and Maddox Molony hits him in! Great Baseball!

1-0 Oregon State after three innings. Oregon's pitcher Jason Reitz came back and was superb,as he dispatched the OSU batters easily. However Our Beloved Ducks can barely put a bat on the opposing pitcher, as he's really good today...

1-0 Oregon State after two innings. Oregon starter Jason Reitz was doing great with two easy outs in the second inning....and then lost it. He walked FOUR in a row to score the OSU run, and then got a fly-out. Can he hold up? A SWEET double-play in the first inning...

Ruh-Roh! Ducks Run Roughshod Over No. 3 Oregon State 13-1!
Great interviews! The difference this team when they play well is obvious; the level of the pitching. It is great to see Collin Clarke get his confidence back, as he pitched great and allowed even fewer runs than Grayson Grinsell did the day before! Equally crucial is Ryan Featherston coming in for two innings and keeping the runs to none during his stint. Both these guys are SO important, and like Seth Mattox yesterday....they are all getting the MoJo back, and just in time for a late-season run!

Ruh-Roh! Ducks Run Roughshod Over No. 3 Oregon State 13-1!
Ducks Clinch Series Against No. 3 Oregon State EUGENE, Ore. — Collin Clarke turned in a dominant performance on the mound on Saturday while No 13 Oregon slugged four home runs in a series-clinching 13-1 win over No. 3 Oregon State on Saturday at PK Park in front of 4,278 fans. Clarke allowed just one run on four hits over 6.0 innings of work while striking out four and walking just two. He did not allow the run until Oregon had a nine-run lead heading into the top of the sixth inning. The Ducks got two run home runs from the first three batters in their lineup – Mason Neville, Dominic Hellman, Jacob Walsh -- over the first five innings, before six-hole hitter Maddox Molony added a two-run shot in the bottom of the sixth. How It Happened: The Ducks did not waste any time making an early statement in the game. After Neville walked to lead off the bottom of the first, Hellman slugged a two-run home run over the center-field wall. Hellman hits a two-run homer! Oregon added to the lead with two more runs in the second. Oregon State (32-9) starter Dax Whitney loaded the bases with a hit-by-pitch and two walks before Drew Smith delivered a two-out, two-run single to center field for a 4-0 lead. Oregon (29-12) added another crooked number to the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth. Hellman started the rally with a one-out single before scoring on a Walsh two-run home run to right field. Smith followed with a triple on a hard-hit ball up the middle that ricocheted off the second baseman changing the balls direction so the centerfielder could not get to it. Molony picked up Smith with an RBI single through the left side for a 7-0 lead. Neville made it 9-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning. After Ryan Cooney singled to lead off the inning, Neville lined his 21st homer of the season over the right-center field wall on a 0-2 count. The Ducks made it three consecutive innings with multiple runs in the sixth. Anson Aroz reached to start a four-run rally on a hit-by-pitch before scoring on the Molony home run over the left-center field wall. Burke-Lee Mabeus and Cooney had back-to-back singles before moving up to second and third on a passed ball. Carter Garate plated both with a double over the first-base bag. Box Score Notes: The announced attendance (4,278) was the largest regular-season crowd in PK Park history … The four home runs hit by the Ducks marked the eighth time this season Oregon has belted four-or-more homers … Clarke’s quality start was his fourth of the season … The 12-run margin of victory was the Ducks’ largest in series history with Oregon State since UO won 14-0 on April 15, 1972, and is the second-largest margin for the Ducks all-time. On Deck: Game three of the series is Sunday with a 12:05 p.m. first pitch. Quotes: Head Coach Mark Wasikowski On Collin Clarke’s performance… “Tremendous job. I thought the entire pitching staff, once again, the last two days, have been excellent. Each and every one of those guys that have gone out there.” On consistency shown at the plate… “We hit the long ball today, you know. We got some guys on and were able to capitalize on some mistakes that were up in the zone, which is good. And sometimes you miss them, today we got them, so we were fortunate.” On how this win changes the team’s mindset.. “We’ll find out, you know. We’ll find out when we come in tomorrow. I would think they’re a really hungry group, that’s what we just left our huddle with. Hopefully they’re going to be really hungry tomorrow and want to play really well.” Collin Clarke On adjustments going into the game... “I was just in the zone more today. I felt like I was able to control the ball a little bit better than the last few outings and when you do that, good things will happen.” On getting ahead in the count early... “It’s huge, especially when getting quick innings helps get the hitting back on track. In general, I think it’s pretty important not to walk guys.” Maddox Molony On having a breakout game after cold streak... “Yeah. The game of baseball is hard and it’s going to challenge you, so it’s nice to have some success like that.” On the success and consistency throughout the lineup... “It means a lot. We just fed off of each other. The guy before gets a hit, walk, or hit by pitch it doesn’t matter because the next guy was going to do something special.” On the excitement of turning a double play... “It’s one of the most exciting plays you can make other than a web gem or a diving play. Turning a double play and making it look routine is amazing.” Mason Neville On the pride the top of the lineup has... “A ton. I feel like our 1,2,3 is pretty special. I mean our entire in general is pretty special. I think we have the chance to really do some big things this year. To go out and have your 1,2,3 hitters all hit two-run homer runs is pretty tough to do, but it puts pressure on the other team, and on their pitcher. They don’t want to throw to us it seems like. It’s definitely a lot of fun to be a part of.” On carrying the momentum into tomorrow's game... “It’s nice to win the series in the first two games, but we’re after the sweep. So taking the win, brushing it off and maintaining the mindset we’ve had the past two games of just dominating every pitch and continuing to do that. That’s the best way to go about it and we plan on doing that tomorrow.”

What? Ducks Have a Shot at ANOTHER B1G Championship? Mens Golf Currently in Second...
Ducks in the Hunt after 36 Holes in Baltimore BALTIMORE – The Oregon men’s golf team shot battled tough winds to climb into second place after two rounds at the Big Ten Championships. The Ducks moved two spots up the leaderboard after firing a 1-under 279 for the second day in a row at Baltimore Country Club and will enter Sunday’s final round with a shot at the Big Ten Title. Illinois leads the field at 8 under, six strokes ahead of Oregon. “We played really well today,” head coach Casey Martin said. “It was a tough finish once again, it got super windy at the end, but we have a chance tomorrow. It’s going to take some great golf but we have a chance.” Jay Gould-Healy and Greyson Leach continued to lead the Ducks in the second round. The pair is tied for third individually at 4 under after Leach turned in his second flawless scorecard in as many rounds and Gould-Healy shot in the red for the second day in a row. Omar Morales from UCLA leads the field at 7 under. How It Happened Teeing off on No. 1, Gould-Healy opened his round with a bogey but made three birdies before the turn. He played his back nine 1 over with two bogeys and a birdie to finish the day with a 1-under 69. Jay Gould-Healy Leach turned in an almost identical scorecard on Saturday as he did on Friday, finishing 2 under with 16 pars and two birdies. He capitalized on the par-4 5th and the par-5 12th to move into the top three. Aiden Krafft shot in the red for the first time in Baltimore, finishing with a 1-under 69. The junior was even at the turn after answering a bogey with a birdie. Sitting at 1 over through 14 holes, Krafft made birdie on two of his last four, including No. 18, to move into a tie for 22nd place. Ramil Saelim turned in a 3-over 73 for the Ducks’ final counting score. Duck Scorecard Big Ten Championships Baltimore Country Club – Par 70 (7,177 yards) 2. Oregon – 279-279 – 558 (-2) T3. Jay Gould-Healy – 67-69 – 136 (-4) T3. Greyson Leach – 68-68 – 136 (-4) T22. Aiden Krafft – 72-69 – 141 (+1) T72. Ramil Saelim – 74-73 – 147 (+7) T77. Eric Doyle – 72-76 – 148 (+8) Notable Gould-Healy is tied for third in the field with eight birdies so far this weekend, accounting for a third of Oregon’s 24 birdies … Leach leads the field with 32 pars … Leach needs just four more birdies to eclipse 400 in his UO career. Next Up Oregon will tee off at Baltimore Country Club to begin the final round of play at 6:40 a.m. PT, with UO’s final time going off at 7:20 a.m. Big Ten Network coverage begins at 10 a.m.
