  1. BDF....this is one of the few times we will disagree because in reference to your statement above....I will not. It is a means of measuring, not to other teams, but what the potential is at Oregon. Cristobal changed expectations of recruiting at Oregon, while Chip/Helfrich changed expectations about scoring, and it is a shame that both cannot happen at the same time with the level of talent being brought in.
  2. Probably a lot of Bean Dip being sold this weekend.... Dairy Farmers are predicting that 20 million pounds of cheese will be consumed on Super-Sunday...and the cheeseheads are not even in the game! Sniff a Reser Cheese?
  3. MaiTaiDuck is BACK! It is so fun to see the "regulars" that were in the comments at FishDuck now present and commenting in the Our Beloved Ducks Forum! Jump in, as the Duck water is just fine in this pond!
  4. Don't try to confuse me with facts, doggone it!
  5. Some of this article we have read, but there was a tasty quote or two that makes you ponder. Cristobal believes DeRuyter will make Oregon 'a whole lot better' by 247Sports
  6. Again...a subjective analysis, but gives Oregon some love and they make some good points. 2021 Best Classes: The Receivers by CFB Saturdays
  7. So well deserved and thanks for posting it olcodger!
  8. Yep, we are going to disagree with this list, no doubt. Clemson? Once Dabo leaves--it goes back into the Dumpster. That is the coach, not the program or school, IMHO. USC is already known as a coach's graveyard because of all the factors and the Ducks are not making it easier. TAMU? Big fan base, yes...but Penn State's is bigger. It is subjective--sure.
  9. Made smile wistfully...we gotta look for this and remember.... Fun post-thanks.
  10. Perhaps recruits and their parents are on to the, "Mistake by the Lake" in Seattle? (Gotta give credit to Annie for that one!) Huskies....you can't beat this!
  11. Nice article, although I use the more reliable Rivals.com rankings that this year--places us higher. Other years, not... (Thanks for posting 1Funduck!) On Rivals...the disparity of recruiting within our conference becomes more stark when compared to other teams and conferences. No. 3 Oregon No. 8 USC No. 31 UCLA (Wow, what a drop for the conference from No. 8 to No. 31!) No. 34 Utah No. 39 Cal No. 42 Washington No. 49 Washington State No. 50 Stanford No. 61 Arizona State No. 63 Colorado No. 73 Arizona No. 100+ Oregon State (A ton of former 4-Star transfers coming in) This is a good coach...
  12. Boy I hope you are right--even some minutes would help.
  13. I'll go along with that, as it is pretty simple. So why haven't they done that? (I believe it is to keep the scam going) Jon--it is about time we disagreed on something, and this is why I want to see other opinions. (I am not in favor of a national tournament as you describe as it would diminish the regular season that much further, IMHO.)
  14. I do not know the specifics, but they were having a bunch of experienced receivers transfer out, and I thought I read that Puka Nacua was thinking of it or had. Rumors, and perhaps others can confirm one way or another?
  15. There is a lot written out there that Oregon is No. 6 with 247Sports, and again--I follow and ask our writers at FishDuck to use rankings from Rivals.com. Why? Because for years the rankings done by Scout.com (of which is now 247 Sports) were highly biased and just plain incompetent. Oregon gets a verbal and suddenly he loses a star....Huskies get a verbal and the recruit gains a star, because the owner of Scout.com was a Husky. So that is why when I am comparing to the past--I want consistency of recruiting rankings, and only Rivals.com does that. So Oregon's ranking of No. 3 is right here. With that....the margin Oregon has over the No. 4 through No. 8 is pretty small, and if any sign later with one of them--the Ducks will drop. On the other hand...if we get JTT later? Well we secure our position, because I do not see us bumping up further. It is all good-or-good!
  16. My gosh....what a great 3rd degree burn...you must have been giggling about that for a long time. I know I would have been!
  17. Apparently in the Signing Day presentation...he stated about the hirings without being asked, "every chance we have to bring somebody in, we end up getting an upgrade." Whoa...is that a shot at Avalos? And again...it was quite curious to see players give a warm goodbye to Keith Heyward, but with Avalos....crickets. And that went both ways, thus there is an internal story there nobody is talking about. If you want to learn all about the recruits and have the time--here you go. An interview with just Cristobal...
  18. OREGON ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 3, 2021 EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon women’s basketball team has added a nonconference game against UC Davis for this Saturday, Feb. 6, in Matthew Knight Arena. Currently on pause because of COVID-19 protocols, the No. 12 Ducks (11-3, 9-3 Pac-12) will return to practice later this week before hosting the Aggies at 6 p.m. PT on Saturday. The game will be live streamed at GoDucks.com/Live. Oregon’s game scheduled for Friday, Feb. 5, vs. Arizona State has been postponed. The Ducks’ next scheduled conference game is Monday, Feb. 8, vs. No. 9 Arizona (4 p.m. PT, ESPN2).
  19. On Rivals, they list 22 as signed, and if they have four transfers....one of them will have to wait for a scholarship, I believe.
  20. I really hate this, but the truth is...we need USC to be good for the national perception of the conference. If they are good and we beat them...
  21. Such a perfect article for context...and look who wrote it! (And one of our biggest hit articles of last year)
  22. Omigosh! The superb writing and research of UtahDuck is back! How we have missed you our Duck-Brother, and WELCOME to the new forum! It makes me want to celebrate your return!
  23. Heck no! I want Oregon to always clean-up, and we are like never before under Coach Mario Cristobal. I gauge our success in recruiting by how many 4-Star and 5-Star players (rankings by Rivals.com) the Ducks sign. Up until recently--the best was 12 signed in a year (twice) by Mike Bellotti and Chip Kelly. Two years ago Coach Cristobal shattered through that with signing 14, and now this year has busted through that again with an astounding 18 of the coveted players out of a total of 23 signed thus far. Oregon is still pursuing JTT, and will leave an opening for any attractive transfers that appear in the portal. But it certainly appears that the conference is going to become quite top-heavy concerning talent before long. The number of 4-Star and 5-Star players that choose the other schools... The Top: Oregon 18 USC 17 35 The Rest: Washington 6 Utah 4 Arizona St. 4 UCLA 3 Cal 2 (No wonder DeRuyter left, as the only two were on offense!) Stanford 1 (How far they have fallen in recruiting!) WSU 1 Colorado 1 Arizona 0 OSU 0 22 Oregon and USC have 61% of all the best players signed (35) for an average of 17.50 of the 4 and 5 Star players each. Ten other teams share only 39%, or only 22 of the best players for an average of 2.2 per team. Thoughts? I know that I not only don't mind it, but am pretty pleased...
