Ducks Dominate WSU In Pullman PULLMAN, Wash. – Oregon bounced back from its two losses in the desert over the weekend with a dominant effort in an 83-30 win at Washington State on Wednesday. The No. 24 Ducks (15-7, 8-3 Pac-12) set a program record for opponent field goal percentage, allowing the Cougars (14-8, 6-5 Pac-12) to shoot just 17.5 percent while the 30 points allowed are the second-fewest given up in a game in school history. UO also shot 51 percent from the floor highlighted by three players in double figures, led by Endyia Rogers with 17 points. “Really pleased with the effort,” said Graves. “I thought we were on point from the beginning defensively and offensively. Some of the things we didn’t do so well last weekend we did today.” “We talked about getting up when you fall – that’s one of the first things you learn as a human being, and we did. So I’m proud of the group and we have a much better taste in our mouths than last weekend.” How it Happened: The Ducks came out firing on all cylinders on both ends of the floor, jumping out to a 21-2 lead eight minutes in. Oregon hit nine of its first 12 shots from the field while holding WSU without a field goal until the 2:11 mark of the first as the Cougars missed their first 13 shots from the field. Rogers paced the Ducks in the opening quarter, scoring 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting to help UO to a 23-6 lead after one. Oregon continued to build its lead in the second, as a Maddie Scherr jumper with 2:15 until halftime gave the Ducks their largest lead of the half at 38-13. After a couple of WSU layups, Shannon Dufficy connected on a jumper with 24 seconds left to give UO a 40-17 halftime lead. The Ducks took away any hope of a WSU comeback right out of the gates in the second half, going on a 15-2 run to jump out to a 55-19 lead with 4:32 left in the third. UO then closed the quarter on an 11-0 run highlighted by six points from Kylee Watson to make it 66-22 heading to the fourth. Oregon continued to keep the clamps down defensively in the fourth as the Ducks held WSU to 14.3 percent shooting in the fourth and 13.3 percent in the second half to stretch the lead out even further to finish. Who Stood Out: Rogers led the team in scoring for the third straight game with her 17 points – 12 of which came in the first half – while shooting 3-of-4 from outside and grabbing six rebounds. Sedona Prince added 12 points and eight rebounds on 5-of-6 shooting while Te-Hina Paopao poured in 14 points while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out four assists. Scherr turned in another strong all-around game, scoring six points while recording eight assists and grabbing a career-high eight rebounds – four of which came on the offensive end. Sydney Parrish finished with nine points on 4-of-8 shooting while Ahlise Hurst and Kylee Watson had strong games off the bench, with Hurst scoring nine points and Watson adding six to go with seven rebounds and three steals. Up Next: The Ducks open rivalry weekend against Oregon State on Friday in Corvallis (8 p.m., Pac-12 Network) before hosting the Beavers on Sunday in Matthew Knight Arena (1 p.m., Pac-12 Network).

Arlis Boardingham Announcement? NOT Coming to Oregon

Any exceptions made for holding scholarships is room for Connelly in March or an attractive transfer. -
Hands Up! Who Are Oregon Softball and Baseball Fans?
Charles Fischer replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
No sweat, as you are a good sport. Actually....I was cheering for the Beavers in their 'Natty runs as a Pac-12 representative. BTW...I grew up in Corvallis and my father was a professor at Oregon State...and I am the "GREEN SHEEP" of the family. -

A great contributing member AND has a sense of humor? Love it, as that was FUNNY. -
The other sites have made it clear in recent days that Arlis Boardingham will be announcing for Florida later today. It comes down to so few scholarships left and the needs being greater elsewhere for any remaining signees or portal transfers. I was going to provide a link to his announcement, but it is a forgone conclusion since the Oregon coaches have been slow-playing Boardingham, and while he wanted to commit to the Ducks...time has run out.

Gotta love how it is the recruits visiting that give their opinion--which is what matters. Now THAT is a very, very good point. And I would add..."taking the offense away from Oregon that it was known for." -

I recall Grinch as the DC at WSU that beat us so many years in a row... (Before he went to Ohio State and then to Oklahoma) I would have thought he would do better than the stats you quote at a place that is easier to recruit to. -

Riley has Alex Grinch as DC, and that is all he needs on the defensive side. Grinch is GOOD, and add that to a high scoring offense? -

For those who cannot get into the OregonLive article... NCPA Takes Next Step Toward College Athletes Being Classified As Employees by Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated Pac-12 commissioner George Kliavkoff disagreed that college athletes should be employees. “They are students first and athletes second. That is non-negotiable for me,” he said. “We get to a place where we talk about professional athletes and it blows up the whole model. Let’s take it to the natural conclusion. Talking about professional athletes, then we have a draft. You’re telling a kid where to go to college. If they are an employee, do I get the right to fire them?" -

We had better enjoy Softball, Baseball, Track and Womens Basketball while we can. If this goes through...Oregon will not be able to afford 19 sports any longer. -

Badwater Here: Preview of 2022 Oregon Softball
Charles Fischer replied to Badwater's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I look forward the season, the new players and reading your articles Blackwater. WELCOME! When I look at the Softball Schedule, I am dismayed at all the games that have no television or even live-streaming. Listening to the game? What is this...1965? Anyway, good intro article by Blackwater about the Women, and if you get ESPN+ you have more options for viewing. -
I am trying to get a bead on how many updates and articles to provide, as they can be fun and interesting when there is not much football to discuss. I enjoy both, so do let me know which sport you follow (or both) and how passionate are you? Do you just keep an eye on the scores? Do you go to games? Do you seek out articles about these sports? How much would you want to see? I've operated an article site (FishDuck) for a decade, but I am new at this forum business and am always interested in feedback. Tell me! Tell me! We have a killer-closer in Kolby Somers, a senior out of Hillsboro!

Now THAT is a big jump! Let's hope they win a ton and jump even more....

Me too. None of us here wear halos, as I've made mistakes in posting like everyone else. Since it was read by too many others--I apologized in public and in private to the affected party. That is why with regulars--I do understand when we make a mistake--we acknowledge it and then move on and forget about it. I have to use significant impulse control like everyone else, and I am grateful that everyone has the strength and patience to do it. Seeing posts on other sites where they are "impolite" to each other makes me appreciate everyone here that much more. And thanks PittDuck. With what will be happening with Coach Lanning--I think this is going to be a very lively place to discuss OBD this fall!
