  1. This is too amazing and funny to not be true! I guess I'm not the only homer... Washington football can land 2021’s number one class by FANSIDED
  2. Signing Day LOI in February used to be a big-deal, and now it is an after-thought to the December signings. You can read about the two that signed this morning at GoDucks.com and the page for the bios of all the signees is right here, although the writer of these bios would get his rear-end kicked if he was a FishDuck writer. No paragraph spacing....sheesh.
  3. There is some good information about this new addition to the Oregon 2021 Recruiting Class... Get to Know: Oregon RB signee Byron Cardwell by OregonLive
  4. Most were predicting this, but you never know until it actually happens...and it did this morning! (A Rivals.com 4-Star corner/safety!) Avante Dickerson, nation’s No. 8 cornerback, signs with Oregon Ducks over Nebraska by OregonLive
  5. They will have television listings in the schedule later, and when they do they will also have a way (in the schedule) to be able to watch the game and keep track of the stats on your computer regardless of whether it is televised or not.
  6. First...to everyone; this article is about COVID, yes. But we can avoid talking politics if we want to, and we have to with the rules. The topic is about the conference tournaments and whether we have them due to COVID, and I thought Coach Nordy did a super job of bringing up that concern while stepping aside from the quicksand that is COVID discussions. I am an old fuddy-duddy, as I have never liked the conference tournaments because it cheapens the championship of the regular season. A conference representative should be based on the grind of all the tough conference games, and not a hot couple of days at the end of the season. The reality is that conferences use it as a way to get another team into the tournament and the West Coast Conference is a prime example. Let's say Gonzaga rests their starters and St. Mary's pulls off the conference tournament upset. Normally the NCAA would only grant the winner, usually Gonzaga, the slot to the NCAA tournament, but now they have to allow St. Mary's as well. To me, it is a well-worn scam that the ACC began many years ago. So yes....cancel the Pac-12 Tournaments. They are bogus to begin with and no need to jeopardize the teams with exposure to COVID in the process.
  7. My FishDuck Friends....I am so surprised and delighted with the Analytics of this forum for the first month as reported by Google. I am familiar with the averages of page views on FishDuck, (the site with the articles) as an article is a page, thus page views tell me how many articles are being read or how many are on the front page, etc. Thus I compare page views here on the Our Beloved Ducks Forum, (OBD) to FishDuck to gauge our first month. Last year FishDuck was in the Top 1% in the World again for pages read with an average of 4,225 pages per day. This last week--the forum averaged 3,643 pages per day...only 14% below the superb number of FishDuck! (Omigosh! Charles...calm down...) Yesterday, (a Monday during a slow time) garnered 4,382 page views! The point is....we are on our way my friends! How can THAT be Mr. FishDuck, with what appears to be a Low Number of Views and Posts? Yep...when you look at views and replies on the right of each topic...it does not appear to be very impressive, yet there have been more surprises as I dug through the data... --The total number of posts people are writing between new topics and replies are right at the same levels at OBD as we had with the comments below FishDuck already after only one month! --People are reading tons of posts every day that go way down the page. On a given day I look at the numbers on all topics and the depth of reading so many posts stunned me. People that come are liking to read the majority of what we post as topics. --Most were in the United States, but we had a good number in Canada and a half dozen other countries, yet the surprise was five households in the Marshall Islands that averaged six minutes per visit! ??? The top city was Portland with Eugene a close second... Top OBD Posts for the Month of January: No. 1: The Coach Boles article from FishDuck, "My Top 5 Candidates to Become Oregon's Defensive Coordinator" No. 2: "Brown or Shough? The Choice is Clear Here" posted by 30Duck who brought in a tweet and began a superb discussion. No. 3: The Joshua Whitted article from FishDuck, "Oregon is Poised to Land a HUGE Commitment Today" What Does this MEAN? Well, for one thing....it means I will have to turn sideways to get my swelled head through a doorway. (There is NO revenue from either site, so I gotta get intangible bennies...) But it means we are doing much better than I thought, and when you consider it is new and we are entering a slow two-month period--I am pleased. In fact the timing is perfect. Huh? I have a steep learning curve with this forum software, and I would not want to be going through that during a busy time. I have a ton left to learn, and my friends....you gotta believe me on this, as the Best is Yet to Be with features yet to be added. What CAN WE DO to Help? I thought you'd never ask! --Go up to the sign-in area and click on your image or letter/number that represents your Posting Name. Go in and finish your profile please! --Go up to the directions and go into the Posting Box directions and learn all the cool features that take only minutes to learn and seconds to do. Great fun! --If you would like to help me pay for the expenses of this OBD forum and FishDuck....please go to this page here, and scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Donate." (And God Bless the few who are donating every month--it really helps and I am grateful) --Get in there and POST your thoughts to everything! What is so cool is how everyone is protected as even the most off-the-spectrum-view has to be treated with polite and respectful responses. Oh we love a good debate, but this community has learned how to debate the subject and not go after each other. You all are a very special treasure--cherish these Ducks! This is going to be a great year of learning, of watching the drama play out....and we are going to have a blast because.... "Oh, how we love to ponder about Our Beloved Ducks!" My wonderful Abbie would be so delighted with this new forum...(but she really was focused on the cheese at that moment!)
  8. OREGON ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE | TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2021 EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon women’s basketball program’s game against Arizona State on Friday, Feb. 5, at Matthew Knight Arena has been postponed because of COVID-19 protocols. Following that, Oregon will host another nonconference weekend round-robin, taking on Nevada, Sacramento State and Oregon State, March 12-14, before starting conference play. Oregon opens conference play by hosting Utah, March 19-21, before home nonconference games against Portland State on March 24 and Loyola Marymount, March 26-27. 10. And when did they get busted by the conference and NCAA for widespread cheating? 1992...which means they achieved their "half" illegally. But that does not matter to them!
  11. Amen Duck-Brother, because given a choice? Both Huskies and Ducks would take the conference championship over the division any day!
  12. There is an article in that topic David....because I regard the Gregory hire at Washington the same as if Oregon hired Heyward for the DC job here. Nope....MC was able to upgrade!
  13. Agreed, as Oregon is now on the recruiting map of respect, but if we pull in JTT...it will raise eyebrows. It will signal that the Ducks are now a major contender for ALL the great players.
  14. With you all the way...and the Beavs have quite a few players in the league considering the number of wins they've had.
  15. My apologies as I cannot link the article, because it requires a subscription. But I wanted you to know what others are discussing from the article, and this was the big news. I would love someone to have subscription there and give us a summary when he writes, as some of his stuff is pretty good, but you have to put up with the "click-bait" like this article. There is a pattern as I think he is trying to tweak Oregon fans and USC fans by predicting the Huskies to take the North Division, and the Sun Devils to take the South Division.
  16. These two could change our ranking, or least defend it...but the other implications of the one prediction would be so massive--wow. I am very surprised Rivals is making this predictions and we hope it comes out true! NSD 2021: Predictions for Uncommitted Rivals250 Prospects by Rivals.com
  17. John brings up some really good points about this candidate, but also the timing needed for the job and what awaits the new commissioner. It seems in his writing that John is not just trying to stir the nest, but he really wants a good hire to happen for the sake of the conference. Canzano: It’s what Ohio State’s Gene Smith isn’t saying the Pac-12 Conference needs to hear by OregonLive Gene Smith
  18. It is such a treat to have your expertise shared here ChicoDuck; thanks for jumping in!
  19. Some of you have signed up to post, but you have to confirm with an email that comes to you. The forum software has a glitch where some people were not getting the email, thus how could you confirm? I sent you an email for confirmation. If you responded to the email I sent--then I manually approved you in the system. Some of you did not respond to my email! Thus after waiting for a day and a half....I then delete the account because I have to assume it is not a legit email. I must have a working email, and an email account that is checked, as I have had a number of spammers and 'bots who try to sign up. If you want to try again--email me charles@fishduck.com and we'll figure it out. Bottom line is--I must have a working email or I assume the worst and will not approve you.
  20. Wouldn't you love to know what Washington and USC were saying?
  21. Oh 30Duck.....you found some GOLD there! My favorite is..."In the generating fan excitement department, this is about as big of a flop imaginable." Way to go Huskies!
