  1. No change after five, but this points to how difficult it is for the pitching coach. Seems reasonable to pull Gordon...right? Nope. They went with him in the fifth and all three Husky batters bit the dust. It is SO HARD to know, because had RJ Gordon come in and given up three runs...we would all say the pitching coach is an idiot. Right? These calls are harder than they look... 2. It was 6-0 going into the bottom half of the fourth inning, but Gordon got into trouble. Ducks lead 6-4 after four...
  3. Geez. Mason Neville either strikes out or homers! A two-run blast!
  4. After three innings Our Beloved Ducks are up 3-0 over the damn Purple Bastard Huskies.
  5. After two innings, we have a pitchers' duel at 0-0, and RJ Gordon has his breaking ball and fastball in sweet control thus far....
  6. He is a 4-Star with Rivals, and was offered by Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan and Ohio State. A good one!
  7. My own bad-word software prevents me from writing what I truly wish, but we need to win and of course Washington is playing their best baseball of the season--just in time for the Ducks. Got that Damn Husky!
  8. So let me get this right...Oregon has the No. 1 G5 team on our schedule in Boise State? Poor Beavis is in a Netherworld?
  9. With the passing attack being assembled for the long term at Oregon, a great running back could clean up. Beyond the first three RBs, I don’t see much in the way of wiggles, acceleration burst, or jump cuts. I hear the Ducks may take two RBs in the 2025 class, and this was one I wanted!
  10. A 34 member equestrian team at Oregon? Who knew! Some cool pictures in the article…
  11. If Oregon beats Ohio State, and continues to win...then the OSU/Michigan game becomes less relevant. By contrast, the battle of the Os at Autzen will have a huge TV audience I believe, due to how curious everyone will be. How good is Oregon? That is the question they will tune in for...
  12. Trojan fans are delighted with the prospect of Lanning long-term...
  13. My feathered friends, an article in The Athletic about Dan Lanning was published this morning, and it was superbly researched and written. In good faith, I cannot copy the whole article, but I will give you a few tasty-tidbits including what is in the title. I suggest subscribing to this publication and they have a one-dollar per month fee is all this first year. Tons of great stuff from them... The article wraps the information about Coach Lanning around the tattoos he got just over a year ago, and what he conveyed to the artist, Alec Turner of Eugene in the process. Turner admitted that never has an Oregon coach come to him for a tat, and this production encompassed Lanning's life to date. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Think Dan Lanning Will Leave Oregon? Check the Ink by Christopher Kamrani Excerpts Trent Figg, head coach at Division III Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Mich., is one of Lanning’s former teammates and roommates. Figg says Lanning hasn’t changed since he’s ascended college football’s coaching ladder. Figg’s scouting report of his friend Dan Lanning (not head football coach Dan Lanning) is succinct: He’s a social butterfly and the life of the party at all times. He loves action movies. He likes to smoke a cigar. He likes to cook steak on his own stovetop. He still wears white Nike dress socks to work every day. “He’s the most loyal person I’ve ever been around,” says Figg. “Like, if you talk about why he stayed in Eugene instead of going to Alabama, he sees the value in how people have invested in him, and he fully believes in himself. He’s a very confident person. And he totally believes in what he has at Oregon.” Lanning: “Loyalty to me is giving the best you got every day, 10 toes down on the job that you’re responsible for and owning that and realizing success will come from that. I get to live my dream. I get to do exactly what I signed up for and what I’d hoped.” “How cool is that? (Turning down Alabama) That’s who I committed to,” Dillon Gabriel says. “That coach is the guy everyone wants for the right reasons. He’s great at connecting with people, he listens, he understands, he can translate that into action from a guy who’s been in it for a long time. Everything he’s said has come to fruition. He just keeps it real, and I think you can appreciate that. He just does the easy things at an elite level. He’s mastered it. That’s exactly why people want him.” “Dan likes to prove people wrong,” Figg says. “Dan knows he can win a national championship at Oregon, and he wants to show the world he can do it.” “I love being part of a program that’s proactive,” Lanning says. “They’ve always wanted a great product. This is a place where you can create that.” But in talking to Lanning, Tat Artist Turner says he felt like the head coach is sold on the life and pace of his hometown. Before Lanning walked out the doors, he told Turner something the artist now fully believes. “He told me he wanted to retire here,” Turner says. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Good gosh my FishDuck Friends, with Dan Lanning...
  14. Many B1G pundits have been generous, but the majority know nothing about us--and simply throw a dart as to what they think of the future is of the Ducks. He put Lincoln Riley, Kirk Ferentz of Iowa and James Franklin of Penn State ahead of Lanning? And I had some respect for Big-10 Ted for another video done recently? Not now...
  15. No, I am not talking about Lincoln Riley. But below is astounding...where would Oregon be without the portal?
  16. Fantastic point. Imagine if Dano was recruiting to a school in Ohio, or Georgia, or Texas.
  17. I agree with that, but with the way he is recruiting the high school talent...it is only a matter of another two years before all this superb recruiting at the HS level truly comes to fruition. I also agree with you in that he will always rely on the portal to plug holes, or to add when exceptional opportunity presents itself, but I do believe the number of starters from the portal will be a ton less in three years. And if not? No problem, as Dano has shown already that with the portal he's....
  18. Quotes like below from the article above never get old... "Riley might have made appropriate staffing adjustments, but the residue of last year’s failed 8-5 season likely contributed to Harmon choosing Oregon over USC. The Ducks are closer to a national title than the Trojans are. Harmon’s decision can be seen as rational in that context." Interesting note....the author of the article, a hardcore Trojan, actually shot pictures for FishDuck when we played at USC years ago... And he is still helping me with quotes like that!
