  1. Frankly, Oregon deserves the ranking received, (No. 20) as we peaked too early. The last two years the Ducks finished at No. 12 in the nation, and we have good times ahead. Surprisingly...D1Baseball put Beavis at No. 4, and B1G MCWS representative UCLA at No. 5 in the nation. Think of it...Oregon took six out of seven games against those teams. Sigh. (I can't complain...we had our chances) With Arizona at No. 7, the west coast finished with three in the top seven, and five in the top 25 with Oregon at No. 20, and UC Irvine at No. 25. There is good baseball on the west coast that is ignored back east, and thankfully--D1Baseball sees it. College Baseball Rankings: D1Baseball releases final top 25 after College World Series - On3 WWW.ON3.COM College baseball season has come to an end, and D1Baseball has released its final top 25 rankings after LSU's championship. Interesting that now the B1G has two Baseball teams in the top 20...and they are former Pac-12 teams. We're helping the league!
  2. Boy, I am glad Oregon QBs don't do this...Whew!
  3. What if....this new conference pulls Boise State down instead of elevating them? (Like an inadvertent loss or two in this weak conference?)
  4. Both are really outstanding players that Coach Lombardi has plucked from the portal. Very impressive...
  5. I think Alex's numbers are a fun goal, but the real question is consistency. It is hard to break into CFB, and do it consistently, and thus why it is so hard for a freshman. But he has the upside!
  6. You can check the article and tweets right here, and I notice that the Bastard-Huskies have gone away from the metallic gold pants to a soothing-sweet beige this year! The biggest complaint from Washington fans is that the new look differs very little from the old look. (Nope...it's WORSE!) An Oregon fan noted that there are, "3 stripes on the pants to commemorate every yard Jonah Coleman rushed for against Oregon."
  7. "In a first-of-its-kind and, perhaps, a precedent-setting move, Wisconsin is seeking unspecified financial damages and a declaratory judgement deeming UM’s actions as wrongful for interfering with a binding revenue-share contract between UW and Xavier Lucas, a former defensive back who left the program in January to compete at Miami." "It was a groundbreaking decision in which Lucas transferred without entering the portal (it had already closed) and after signing the contract with the Badgers." Wisconsin files suit against Miami for poaching Xavier Lucas while he was under contract with school SPORTS.YAHOO.COM In a landmark moment in college athletics, one university has filed suit against another over tortious interference, according to documents obtained by Yahoo Sports. CFB has provided ANOTHER new revenue source for attorneys!
  8. Last year's class was pretty good... For the Eeyores...
  9. He is a good one, a Rivals 4-Star, and his list of offered schools is long, but to summarize...Oregon, Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Georgia, Penn State, Texas....doesn't that cover the top echelon at the moment?
  10. Good idea, with 4:00 PM PST starts--their viewership would be much better, as watching Utah State vs. Washington State is better than nothing.
  11. So, after spending a Saturday watching Big Ten football games… I wanna tune into the CW Network to watch Colorado State versus Texas State in the evening? Right.
  12. Or in two years…
  13. I love the article, David, and the research and quotes to support your points. I agree with this strategy, (especially at QB) but I also acknowledge that, 1) this is probably a short-term strategy until the underclassmen develop more, and 2) while it is an innovative strategy, it is an unproven one. But my bets are on the rest of the elite teams copying this strategy within the next few years. (Then Oregon will shift again?)
  14. Gotta pull for Coastal Carolina to keep the SEC out!
  15. Oh little brother... John Canzano interviewed the retired commissioner from both the WAC and the Sun Belt, and he gave us that quote. So that is what Beavis aspires to? That they and Texas State hopefully become the next Boise State? Then he quickly added, “It never happened — but maybe this is the time.” 😆
  16. My Duck-Buddies...the above article is a "pay" article where they paid my ransom to get a lame article published here. I used to publish a bunch of gambling articles, but not any longer as I did not like the vibe. My silly inserts are one thing, but a flat-out gambling article was a bit much. But once in a while--between the AI, their writer, and my editing--an informative article about Oregon is published when they pay my high price. (Trying to pay for the site migration in a few weeks) I actually learned some things from the article, and it did not drone on...so I give them that. I've got some cool pictures in the article, and it reminds me of how blessed I've been to have such high quality photographers available for FishDuck over the years.
  17. Yep...it cost us a 'Natty.
  18. A position with the Cowboys is more coveted than the Ducks?
