  1. Whew! Now I know that sounds terrible that I'm glad that it IS a medical thing? But you've seen the posts and a number of Duck fans in conversation and in emails have suggested that it was a falling out between Moorhead and Cristobal. I am glad that has been proven wrong and hope everything went well. Medical facilities in the Bay Area are superb... And THANKS 30Duck for bringing the news to us! Everyone--when you see something that is news or a great article--do your part and post it!
  2. Yep. Being 10 points up would have made it all moot. We can blame the coaches, but they called a great play and Brown blew it.
  3. How could I forget?! It was OBD Moderator 30Duck who coined that phrase and it is a very accurate one!
  4. Now THAT is a really good point. If he cannot make good decisions on which receiver to throw to, or which option to take on the Zone-Reads, then adding to his plate could make things worse. The solution? Try Ty Thompson!
  5. Well, a shift would help, but I believe we need more than that. The Up-Tempo would help us, no doubt. I don't think he will change at all until he has lost enough games...when he realizes he is losing more games than he should with his talent. I am thinking that with him....that will take this year and two more after that. This would be a fundamental movement from his identity, and he is not as flexible that way as Saban is, IMHO.
  6. That is very cool, and great to see them look so good. Thanks Annie, for bringing that to us! My favorite of Brooks...he's kinda intense...
  7. It was play-calling not intended to score 45 points, but in the realm of what Cristobal does to just win the game--it seemed fine. If Brown pitches the ball to Verdell at the end of the first half--we are up 14 at the end and it is all moot. That was not the play-call but a player blunder, IMHO.
  8. He can play in three more and retain his redshirt. I'd like to see him play three games and then see--
  9. This is SO COOL! Thanks 30Duck for bringing it to our attention...
  10. Right now the "Prevent-Offense" label seems to be the most appropriate! I am trying to remember who to credit for that... Maybe the one I suggested is not such a good one to be remembered for...
  11. So true, and an outstanding post. You can go Tony Robbins on me anytime...
  12. I would suggest they already have...when a percentage of fans leave you--that is a decline of the brand.
  13. Whew! That is powerful...and while it is tough at times--I will be watching regardless. I try to remain as a loyal fan no matter how frustrating...
  14. Completely agree, and glad to have you on-board as you are new--do keep sharing your thoughts. WELCOME!
  15. Perhaps you are right that he is not a "gamer." I recall how when Bill Musgrave was QB, he had the least amount of talent of the quarterback room but on the field--performed the best. A gamer...
  16. Thanks for the update. He is going to be facing some mighty-fast defenders...
  17. I completely agree; that, and Cal might be the weakest team left on our schedule as WSU held them to six points on their home field. I am for more....freshmen receivers, freshman QB, we are already using freshmen TEs, and now let's make use of freshmen running backs with Verdell's injury. Build for the future! (And they might be pretty good right now!)
  18. Actually....I have a "You DO Suck File," and it is pretty large. Mostly from those who I've banned, or hate me for my predictions about the Oregon offense, or now hate me because I was right! When you been at this a decade--you get a ton of feedback... Been there!
  19. Jon! Your homework and subsequent analysis is epic! So much great information--thanks! (and I like the thought of Michigan coming to Oregon again, only this time in the winter?)
  20. Who IS this guy? Jon...we love the upbeat approach as yes--it can happen yet. I do not rate the probabilities as very high, but teams have changed through a season and this is a whacky year. A number of us used Fresno State as a measuring stick and then they lose to Hawaii? Who can figure any of this out? Ducks...focus on Cal and win the darn game!
  21. Whew! This throws another variable into this that leaves us guessing, as to your question--I have no idea. I get the power dynamics inside a quarterback room, but man--the impact on the program is so immense, especially with the transfer portal. And please keeping sharing your thoughts often. WELCOME! (Please excuse my anal tendency to edit a post on occasion. I like to see all-caps in a title except for the inconsequential words as they do in publishing with AP or Associated Press style. And I like to see "reading spaces" inserted so that a paragraph does not go longer than three lines to make it easier on old eyes. My thanks!)
  22. Absolutely. My axiom..."first downs at the end of the game are as important as touchdowns earlier in the game." And if Brown would have pitched to an open Verdell on the play before half...Oregon would have been up 14 points at the end and this is all moot. And great to see you here again. The gang are all coming back!
  23. You have no idea what a comment like that means to me. What you stated is what my mission is--what I am trying to achieve. I earnestly thank you and I will put that comment in my "You Do Not Suck" file. (Not sarcastic, as I have one!)
  24. I have no expertise with the new surfaces at all. I played in High School on Grass/mud and on AstroTurf in Parker Stadium as Crescent Valley used that as the home field in the early days of the school in the 70s. I recall "turf-burn," but that is about it.
