  1. Boy, I don't know about this one either--your thoughts? ESPN FPI Predictions: Oregon Ducks Favored to Win Pac-12 North, but Projected to Lose Pac-12 Championship by Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire
  2. Thank you, and I am proud of them and they have been viewed over two-million times, but all the ad revenue went the Pac-12, since they own the rights to the telecast footage. I will do an analysis article like this once in a while, but making videos is unbelievably time-consuming, and I just don't have the time these days. (I get a lot of new people that sign up that none of you ever see because they don't believe we have rules, and enforce them and their first post is just horrible. So I have to spend time with emails and phone calls to end up with them leaving anyway. Too much time babysitting adults!)
  3. Fentress is right that many former Oregon teams would boat-race this one. And I've enjoyed many of his takes in the past, but when he tells me as a Duck fan to "Chill-out," and calls me "Spoiled?" That comes off as a condescending jerk. (And yes...the rule No. 26 refers to Oregon players and coaches. Say what you want about other teams, their fans, their coaches and members of the media.)
  4. Well, they hated me three years ago when I began telling them that "unless there are dramatic changes--Cristobal will not take us to the promised land," and now that has been proven true--they hate me because I was right. But on the good side--my experiences over the last 24 years on eDuck, 247, DSA and ScoopDuck have really taught me what NOT to do, and how I need to protect the minority view on a topic and not allow their voices to be intimidated or bullied into silence. I believe strongly that the best combination of sites? Subscribe to 247 and ScoopDuck, and then come over here to discuss it all! That way you have the information AND you have the safety to discuss it without someone maligning you for simply a different viewpoint. I also think that half the people at both locations would join us here, as there are so many great Duck fans at those sites who are disgusted with the nonsense and would join us if they knew of the OBD forum. PM your friends over there and let them know. Get the best of both worlds; information over there, and great, safe discussion over here! And thank you Dukduponquak!
  5. I am trying to figure out whether it is a good-or-good decision, or a bad-or-bad one!
  6. Boy....to me he is highly undersized for the NFL, and does not have the breakaway speed for the next level. I understand his superb skills as a pass receiver, but I see good skills, but not elite skills needed for the next level. But then--what do I know? I thought Justin Herbert would have a journeyman career like Kellen Clemens in the NFL!
  7. Jon, I think the Pac-12 is getting close! You describe the problems and back it up with facts like few, if anyone. I appreciate the article!
  8. WCCIDT....great to see you join us and I would encourage you to post your thoughts often. WELCOME!
  9. I am stunned, blown-away and almost in disbelief. Last year at this time when we had posts/comments under the articles--if we had over 100 comments/posts in a day...that was GREAT. And during the football season, we would have three days a week like that and it was wonderful. This forum has only been up for seven weeks, and in the month of October...we averaged 131 posts per day! That is so far beyond the participation levels of the past that I could not comprehend it. We had just begun! This is already better than most Oregon message boards/forums. Now the numbers for November are even more stunning, as up through the end of yesterday? We are averaging an astounding 198 posts per day for the month of November thus far! My FishDuck Friends....I just wanted a place to "banter-with-my-buddies" and it is turning into a wonderful source of Oregon Sports news and information from all the astute fans among us. The discussions have been epic at times, and my vision is becoming a reality. What are my objectives with the OBD forum? --A safe GREEN REFUGE from the nastiness of the world where we can discuss Our Beloved Ducks in peace with other good people who share our passion. --A repository of Oregon Sports news brought to the community by all of us! --The opportunity to learn from each other when we see all opinions on a topic, because everyone is nice to each other regardless of their view. I continue to learn so much from all of you, and really look forward to the journey in front of us! Charles Our 33 rules at the free OBD Forum can be summarized to this: 1) be polite and respectful, 2) keep it clean, and 3) no reference of any kind to politics. Easy-peasy! OBD Forum members….we got your back. No Trolls Allowed!
  10. Look, I know how it is--sometime families don't always completely get along, and while you may love Thanksgiving and most of the family--there might be some you are not thrilled to be hanging out with. Baloney. My family gets along GREAT. Want to get on the good side with all your Duck Fan family members? Refer them to the Our Beloved Ducks forum! We want the savvy, thoughtful Oregon fans who like to ponder the same way we do, and this is the purrfect opportunity to share this incredibly special site. Tell them to go to...forum-dot-fishduck-dot-com or https://forum.fishduck.com/ do memorize "forum-dot-fishduck-dot-com" and have them pull it up on their cell phone. Let them know that we are posting Oregon Sports News, Oregon Athletics Press Releases, and the safest discussion on the web! Try to get at least ONE person to come to the forum, join as a member and be a part of the most unique Oregon Sports Community anywhere. And tell them that nobody is allowed to do what you see above! This is the only Oregon site on the web where people have to be nice to each other, and incredible discussion is the result! Our 33 rules at the free OBD Forum can be summarized to this: 1) be polite and respectful, 2) keep it clean, and 3) no reference of any kind to politics. Easy-peasy! OBD Forum members….we got your back. No Trolls Allowed!
  11. I think No. 11 is generous and am grateful...
  12. I did not have time to listen to the Podcast, but regardless of your views--we do not "Throw Group-Shade" upon those who disagree with us. This is pretty mild, but it inhibits people from posting nonetheless. See No. 2a and No. 2b of our rules. The objective of this forum is to see all the opinions of the very savvy group assembled here. That can only happen if everyone feels safe to post, and thus behaviors that discourage or inhibit posting of a viewpoint different from yours are prohibited. State your opinion, they state theirs and we all view them and decide for ourselves. We do not cast aspersions upon those who disagree with us, and "Throwing Group-Shade" is one of the more subtle methods of making people reluctant to post. If the other sites allow it? That is your first clue that we don't here. This really is not directed so much at the good people in this thread that made a mistake, but to use it as a way of educating people on what our objectives here are and how we achieve them. Email me for more information and do read what I referred to above. charles@fishduck.com Some would say this is over-the-top, but that is what it takes to create and retain an extraordinary place to gather and safely discuss Our Beloved Ducks.
  13. I felt he would not come to USC, and would stay in his comfortable gig. One big name gone... Announcement: Contract Terms:
  14. Ha-Ha. The Fact-Checker gets Fact-Checked! Now you did not distinguish between "next job" and "all jobs," but the debate is not worth any more of our time. I get the point...
  15. I like that there is no BS about it; he takes responsibility after addressing the issues. Tim DeRuyter Addresses Oregon's Defensive Struggles on Third Down by Max Torres of Ducks Digest
  16. This is not new, as it has been brewing with the Mississippi native for a long time. The positive spin? When he committed to Oregon--he was unranked and pulled our team rankings down. But his status skyrocketed over the season and this demonstrates that the Duck coaches know how to identify upside before everyone else does. Top JUCO OT Percy Lewis Decommits from Oregon by Jared Mack of Duck Territory 247 Not! (BTW...5-Star Tackle Kelvin Banks is still solid to Oregon!)
  17. The most watched Pac-12 game since 2014? What a great time to lay a Duck-Egg... ABC Had Massive College Football Ratings On Saturday Night by Matt Audilet of The Spun
  18. This actually could help keep a couple of them around after the season?
  19. Holy Crap! I just got this email as a season ticket holder from the Athletic Department and wanted to share it pronto with you. Charles ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Oregon Health Authority has rescinded the outdoor mask mandate that all guests ages 5 and over must wear face coverings. While the mask mandate remains in effect for all indoor spaces in Oregon Athletics venues, they are now recommended rather than required for outdoor spaces throughout Autzen Stadium, per OHA and the University of Oregon Incident Management Team. The following is a reminder of the additional public health guidelines that remain in place for Saturday’s game: Vaccination Policy: All fans 12 or older attending games must show proof of vaccination, including a CDC-issued Vaccination Record Card (or photo), and corresponding identification, for entry. Documentation of a negative test taken within three days of the event will also be accepted, and the following link from the UO Incident Management Team details how to meet this requirement: https://coronavirus.uoregon.edu/vaccination-university-events Pre-Game/Stadium Entry: Fans are encouraged to arrive early once again this Saturday, and gates will open two hours before kickoff, at 10:30 a.m. The clear bag policy remains in effect. Mobile Ticketing: To enhance safety, physical event tickets are no longer in use, and fans can utilize the ease and convenience of mobile ticketing via the GoDucks Gameday App presented by Pepsi. For those who do not have the app, you can download it here. Step-by-step instructions and a how-to video can be found goducks.com/mobiletickets As stated above, parking lots will be open four hours before kickoff (8:30 a.m.), and the Moshofsky Center will once again be closed to fans this Saturday. There will be no post-game field access for fans. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My friends, if you still wish to go--there are discounted tickets available. Go to the top of the home page of this site and look for the green pinned topic at the top concerning tickets. Charles
  20. What is the difference between "Culture" and "Agriculture?" About 40 miles....
  21. I thought it was a classic "ponder-point" that I like to kick around...the "what-if" kind of thing. I was hoping people would spend more time discussing this topic instead of delving into all the negative of the game. Oh well. I tried to distract them! And MikeJ...it is a wonderful sight to have a new member who writes great thoughts, writes them well AND adds reading spaces after every couple of sentences to make it easier on old-eyes. Please do post your thoughts often and WELCOME!
  22. Rich Brooks brought Kentucky out of a terrible state into at least a competitive state at 8-5 and they revere him there. (And BTW....I too hate "Fact-Checkers!") 😆
  23. Blowcheese, I think you have written some great posts, but I also know you are a Beaver fan, hence the logo placed in your avatar. You may want to skip this site this week, as stuff that will be published later may not be to your liking. We are not trying to please any visitors from other schools, but just serve Oregon fans here. You seem reasonable, thus why I thought I would give a "heads-up." And if the Beavers win--we congratulate them, but I do not want to see any rubbing the salt on the wound here. Conversely--I/we do not go to Beaver sites and rub salt in the years that we win.
  24. Wood Duck! You are new, and I love how you are offering your thoughts on many topics out of the gate. Please continue to, and I REALLY LOVE the profile picture (avatar) you uploaded. Stunning. WELCOME!
