  1. I guess voters looked at the record when Bill had TB and when he didn't? Perhaps the TB Bucs winning a Super Bowl with TB was noted? Folks in Chapel Hill, NC, missed the memo. 🤪
  2. Good point. But the fact that travel is more difficult for other sports does not negate the Big Ten handing Oregon eight games straight without a break, which includes two trips to the Eastern time zone in November. Twice in three seasons, B1G HQ has Oregon as the only Big Ten team playing eight in a row. This is a competitive disadvantage that should not have happened once, let alone twice.
  3. Good take. Thanks for being on the Forum and for all of the great posts. Thanks for the heads up on Northwestern playing 11 games in a row. Good luck, Chip. 😉 I was focused on conference contenders. NW will battle, but it is one of the longest shots to contend for a conference title. In a mega-conference with teams coast to coast, some teams will get the short end of the scheduling stick. Understood. What isn't right is taxing Oregon for the second time in three seasons, with eight B1G games in a row without a break, including a trip to Columbus on 11/7 and to East Lansing on 11/21. Like 2024, Oregon is the only Big Ten team playing eight straight without a break. THIS does not have to and shouldn't happen. It's a competitive disadvantage. Michigan plays seven in a row, Indiana, Iowa, Illinois, six straight, Penn State, and UW play 5, and USC, with an OOC opponent still to be named, plays 5. Just to rub it in, Illinois is off the week before Oregon travels East to play the Illini. Mercy!
  4. Here's more on the Ducks twice in three seasons being behind a Big Ten scheduling 8-ball and the demands of traveling twice to the Eastern time zone in November. Autzen ZooOregon's 2026 schedule demands adjustments in planning, p...No one has depth anymore, not like the pre-portal days. Oregon lost 30 players to the NIL chase. Texas Tech lost 31.. Suck it up and play ball! Fine, but being asked to play 8 Big Ten games in a row, again, is over the line.
  5. Thank you, NJ. This is one of the best DucksWire articles I've read. It hits the schedule's high notes and low notes. I am not the only one to notice the game in Stillwater will be against a much-improved team. In his second season at North Texas, Eric Morris took the Mean Green to the AAC champ game. 17 players are following Morris to OK St, including QB Drew Mestermaker, whose 4,379 passing yards were the best in FBS in 2025. OBD better make no misstate in the first three games. 😁 The author noted that the Ducks, as in 2024, play eight games in a row against B1G opponents without a week off. What he failed to add is that Oregon is the only Big Ten team running this gauntlet. In 2024, Oregon was the only FBS team to play eight straight without a break. I'm in the process of determining whether this will be the case in 2026, and I will report back. As the author did note, OBD travels to the Eastern time zone twice in November, Week 10 at Ohio State, and Week 12 at Michigan State. UW had this November travel yo-yo west to east late in the 2025 season; one reason UW lost at Wisconsin. The weather in Columbus on 11/7 should be decent, but 11/21 in East Lansing, Michigan? Thanks again, NJ.
  6. Yes. And this is the reason many SEC teams are dropping future OOC games vs P4 opponents. I don't blame the SEC teams for doing so. Check out Indiana's 2025 consumption of cupcakes, rinse and repeat in 2026. It's plain as can be. You want better OOC games, go with Tony Petitti's automatic qualifier 16-team PO format.
  7. Upon further review and after a double vodka and tonic, in 2026, like 2024, Oregon is the only B1G team playing eight B1G games in a row. Whether OBD is the only P4 team playing eight in a row is under further, further, and perhaps another cocktail's review. That Illinois is off the week before Oregon travels to the Central time zone to play the Illini in front of CFB's largest stadium scoreboard is another B1G slap in the face. I need to look at the ACC, B12, and SEC conferences, but I will not be surprised if OBD is the only P4 CFB team playing 8-straight, possibly nine in a row if Oregon plays in the 2026 B1G champ game. Another preseason B1G title contender, Michigan, plays seven B1G games in a row. Indiana, USC, Iowa, Illinois, and UW play six. Ohio State and Penn State play five. Rob Mullens, where are you? Portland State's on the schedule, and OBD opens with Boise State? What the Hxxx, blast Boise!
  8. You could see this coming from 2136 miles away: the distance between B1G HQ in Chicago and Eugene.
  9. OBD plays at Illinois with the Illini coming off an idle week? With OBD coming off a game against Nebraska. If this is a 9 AM body clock start ... Having Week 5 off and then playing nine games in a row if OBD plays in the B1G champ game is just wrong.
  10. David, I get it. Good point. I have to pursue other schedules, but is there another B1G title contender with a schedule that would have the conference champion game being their ninth game in a row?
  11. Sorry for being crass, but this Idle Week sucks! 🤬 Oregon was the only P4 team in 2024 that had to play eight games in a row against P4 competition, and B1G HQ is doing it to OBD again? WT Fugazi!

  13. Thanks for the comment. Indiana has 12 of its 22 starters back, and On3-Rivals ranks the incoming transfer portal class No. 1. Chip bolted for the NFL, and Mark Helfrich took OBD to the most-watched playoff championship game vs. Ohio State. Curt Cignetti and his long-time coaching crew are great at evaluating overlooked talent. WR Sarratt and AA CB Ponds were only offered by JMU. The Hoosiers' LOS holes in 2024 were portal-fixed in 2025. Indiana is in the top 5 odds-on teams to win the 2026 title. I wouldn't make this bet without knowing if QB Hoover comes close to the play of Fernando. But I will and have bet that Indiana will be back in the PO for the third time with Cig as its HC. My betting buddies and I did hit a Champ Game inside straight. We were down with Indiana -5.5 when the champ game odds opened. (Don't ask about our Peach Bowl bets. 🤬)
  14. I guess he Gotcha? 😁 Please, drone on, I love your pics!
  15. Hmmmmmmm? Because Kiffin won a conference championship at FAU? This is it for the hardware Kiffin has brought in. Ole Miss was a lock for the 2024-25 PO before QB Dart threw up late in the season at Florida. Seriously, I get your well-made point. It's the reason Kiffin left Ole Miss for LSU, a program that has won national championships. One of these titles was won by Saint Nick Saban. Les Miles won in a season where no team had fewer than two losses. Ogeron won with QB transfer Joe Burrow, and Joe Brady calling plays for one of the best offenses in the history of the game. (BTW, as Coach O acknowledged, his LSU guys were not playing just for tuition, room, and board.) LSU's 2026 schedule is much more difficult than any schedule Kiffin has faced as an SEC coach. At Ole Miss in Week 3, especially if QB Chambliss can play one more season, I think Pete Golding takes down LSU and takes Ole Miss back to the PO with LSU missing out. (If Pete's not too busy poaching. 😁) Again, solid point, but IMO, scoring millions of big ones had more to do with Seaton's decision than winning the Big One in 2026. Based on his track record, Kiffin may not make it to season three.
  16. Thanks, Charles, for the terrific editing job. Cig is losing many of the players he brought with him from JMU. Will this make a difference in 2026? One prediction of which I am certain, Indiana vs. Ohio State and Indiana at Michigan will draw a huge number of eyeballs. For viewer numbers compared to the SEC, I hope at least one of these games will kick off at 7:30 PM Eastern. And many folks will be watching the battle of the Os, Oregon at Ohio State.
  17. Par for the Lame Kitten course. Kiffin has never been a great recruiter. He buys players from the portal. Trinidad Chambliss was discovered and brought to Ole Miss by Charlie Weiss, Jr. LSU also went large in the portal in 2025 and fired Brian Kelly before the end of the season. This Pink Slip only cost LSU $54 million. In 2026, LSU is on the road for five SEC games: Ole Miss 😁, Kentucky, Auburn, Tennessee, and Arkansas. In 2026's 13-week season, LSU finishes with back-to-back road games. Week 12 at Tennessee and Week 13 at Arkansas. Not the best way to finish a season. The five SEC road games will be a new experience for LSU and the other seven SEC teams doing the same in 2026. Home opener against Clemson. Then, LSU welcomes Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Alabama, and Texas to Baton Rouge. This is a far more difficult SEC schedule than Old Miss played in 2025. Good luck (yuck, yuck.) LSU is paying QB Sam Leavitt a lot of money to transfer in from ASU. Leavitt has a history of being injured. He's a good dual-threat QB, but he has nowhere near the ability and athleticism of Trinidad Chambliss. O-line was LSU's weakest link last season. Seaton's coming in, but will he be a fit and play well with his new teammates? Seaton played well at CU, but the overall line play was Buffalo chips. I look at the schedule, and I can see three or more losses and no invitation to the playoffs. If so, entering year two Kiffin's seat will be scalding hot. The man won a conference championship in the G6 with FAU; that is all he's accomplished.
  18. Senior Bowl - Saturday - 1/31/26 - 2:30 PM Eastern, 11:30 AM Pacific - NFL Network Also beginning tomorrow, 1/27, you can watch practices on the NFL Network Ducks at the Senior Bowl - Long Snapper - Jeffery Basso O-line - Alex Harkey, Emmanuel Pregnon, Isaiah World LB - Bryce Boettcher And many other players from the Big Ten. 20. I'm waiting for tomorrow's schedule review to make my prediction. Hate to do it, but I have to agree with the Men of Troy - Notre Dame has done NOTHING to deserve this PO perk. https://trojanswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/trojans/football/2026/01/26/new-college-football-playoff-format-notre-dame-advantage/88344740007/?utm_source=smg-trojanswire-strada&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=SMGb

  22. FOOTBALL - Tuesday, 1/27/26 - The B1G 2026 Football Schedule Reveal - Big Ten Network (BTN) 5:30 Eastern, 2:30 Pacific I love Oregon 123's post. What's your prediction for Ducks football in 2026? We know that OBD will play Michigan, Nebraska, Northwestern, UCLA, and UW in Autzen Stadium. Oregon's 2026 Big Ten road games have Oregon playing at Ohio State, USC, Illinois, and Michigan State. As it should be every season IMO, in 2026, OBD plays all three of its once-upon-a-time Pac-12 playmates. Tomorrow, we'll learn the dates the games will be played. I've deferred answering Oregon 123's question until we know the date of the games and the week Oregon will be idle. Only 13 weeks in the 2026 season, and only one off week. Fingers crossed for OBD's nap to come in Week Five, Six, or Seven. BASKETBALL - Not the best of seasons for Oregon basketball, but many of the men's and women's CBB teams are ranked. Four of the Men's teams are ranked in the AP top 10 - No. 3 Michigan, No. 5 Nebraska, 24 wins in a row, 20-0 this season, No. 7 Michigan State, and No. 9 Illinois. 1/27/26 - No. 5 Nebraska at No. 3 Michigan - One of the B1Ggest CBB games of the season to date, and B1G HQ has again set things up perfectly to keep the B1G Light under the Bushel. 7:00 PM Eastern, 4 PM Pacific - Only available on Peacock. 🤬 The media geniuses at B1G HQ definitely deserve The Bird. I'd wager that the OBD at the Ohio State game will be kicking off at 9 AM Pacific, with a good chance of playing Michigan in the late game the week before
  23. 38 degrees, heavy rain in SW South Carolina. My Bro in Boston reports two plus feet of snow on the ground with heavy snow expected for the next 20 hours. But Pats fans are happy. In heavy snow in Denver, OBD and Pats DB, Christian Gonzo Gonzales makes a late in the 4th Q pick to help seal the deal for the Pats. Everyone, please stay safe and warm.

  25. Are You Spitting Me? I'm surprised that this article wasn't written in crayons. 🤪 Next time, please try to color within the lines. Isn't it a little too early in the offseason to come up with this kind of tripe? How about this? Like the NFL, the CFB PO reseeds. OBD in front of a legion of Oregon fans defeats Ole Miss in Phoenix, and Indiana defeats Miami in Atlanta. How does Mario do this? Rumored deal to steal QB Mensah from Duke - try not to choke: $4 million to buy out Mensah's contract, and $6 million for next season, with another six million if Mensah returns in 2027 for his redshirt senior season. I'm not a member of Mensa, but this seems like a whole lot of money to me. 🤑 FanSidedMario Cristobal has a lesson that Dan Lanning needs to le...Dan Lanning has every reason to succeed at Oregon yet he can't.
