Is That RIGHT? Prime Kicks Off a Player in Front of Team?
Thanks. And no disrespect to Charles for posting this. As Charles' noted it is a very interesting issue to ponder.

Is That RIGHT? Prime Kicks Off a Player in Front of Team?
One question I have as a follow-up to my comment. Is there any expectation of privacy in today's wired world? Who shot the video? Did Deion and the team know the meeting was being recorded? I'm happy to be playing the back 9.

Is That RIGHT? Prime Kicks Off a Player in Front of Team?
Tan, good take but you play the schedule put before your team. 11-1 is an excellent record at any level of play. The schedule Sanders has in front of him in 2023 is simply brutal, including playing 2 P5 opponents OOC. CU plays Oregon, Oregon State, Utah, USC, and UCLA missing only UW among the teams projected to have a chance at winning the Pac-12. Yes, he was a showboat at FSU, and with the Falcons and the Braves. But his teammates loved playing with the man. He has a herculean rebuild in front of him but he has brought in assistant coaches that will help with the effort. Convincing the HC of Kent State to come to Boulder as his OC. was a big win. Kent State gave UGA a much tougher game in 2022 than Oregon. And the other coaches around him are experienced. Sanders told the team he inherited the truth, the majority of guys on the roster were not capable of playing P5 football at a championship level. He is taking advantage of today's transfer portal rules to significantly upgrade the roster. In 2023 I think that Deion will have CU on the cusp of going bowling and the Buffs will upset a team or two that they are not supposed to beat. The former Buffs coach had the personality of a cumquat. Karl Dorrell had no shot at winning with the players he had on the roster. And CU would have continued to draw fewer than 20,000 fans for its home games. He has invigorated a moribund program and dropped money to the bottom line. P5 football like it or not is a big business. I can think of no other coach CU could have hired that would have moved the needle anywhere close to what Deion has done. His hire was not only good for CU, but it was also good for a Pac-10 that needs the publicity. I only hope that he will not be derailed by health issues. The entire nation will be following CU this season because of Deion.

Brett McMurphy: Pac-12 Deal to be Presented to Chancellors and Presidents Thursday
The base deal is close to $20M but this is supplemented by revenue earned by the ACC network. In 2022 I believe the total distribution to ACC member schools was just south of $40M. The ACC has responded to criticism of the media deal by Clemson and FSU by allowing teams that make the CFB and CBB playoffs will keep a bigger share of the pie. The Pac-10 is rumored to be doing the same with CFB playoff revenue. ESPN's media deal runs through 2036! And there is no reason for ESPN to up the ante. BTW, I do not believe anything that comes off of McMurphy's keyboard. Typical for Brett to alter the facts to fit his narrative of Pac-10 doom and gloom.

Good Faith Questions About STREAMING
Prof, I do not know if it is available where you reside but in South Carolina I have access to the Pac-12 network on DISH. Also the ACC and B1G networks and even the Longhorn network, that will likely disappear in 2024 and no one will notice. Ironic is it not that Texas cratered Scott's expansion idea over a Longhorn network that has very few subscribers and the network Larry established has also been a loser.

Is That RIGHT? Prime Kicks Off a Player in Front of Team?
Beneath the flash and dash Sanders is old school. As he recently stated he would never coach in today's NFL that he believes is loaded with prima donnas. It's his way or the highway. It would be nice to know the rule(s) this player broke that resulted in the player being called out in front of the team. So long as there was no physical abuse I am fine with this. Sanders put J State and the entire HBCU group of teams in the spotlight. Who would ever have thought that Game Day would show up in Jackson, Mississippi? CU was perhaps the worst team in the G5 and P5 last season. It will take time to turn things around in Boulder but Deion has already made a big financial impact. Spring game sold out at $10 a ticket and ESPN was on hand to broadcast the game. And the 2023 CU season tickets are sold out. This is for a school that in 2022 drew an average 'crowd' of 17,000. I'm guessing here but I think the responses to Sanders publicly booting the player could well depend on a commenter's date of birth. Lots of stuff went down back when that would not be tolerated today.

15 College Football Teams in Contention for the Final Final 4
Quite a few seasons back Utah defeated Alabama 31-17 in the Sugar Bowl on 1/2/09. Utah was in the Mountain West. The Utes joined the Pac-12 in 2010. think this is the only big-time bowl win for the Utes. Last 2 Rose Bowls, 2021, Utah had a running back playing as a DB, and Ohio State won a Rose Bowl shootout. In 2022, Utah was simply smash-mouthed by Penn State in the Rose Bowl in a very bad showing by Utah that drew the fewest number of Rose Bowl viewers in decades. Utah got a nice break last season playing CU before the champ game while SC played Notre Dame. But not the break SC potentially has this season with an Open Date the week prior to the champ game. My 2023 Pac-12 nightmare has USC playing UCLA in the champ game.

Good Faith Questions About STREAMING
Do not shovel sand against the tide. Like it or not streaming is coming on. Hopefully, the Pac-10 finds streaming partners which will help distribute the brand, unlike Larry's lousy network. Catch a wave and you could be sitting on top of the world.

Stanford President Steps Down. Will This Delay Media Deal?
- 'New Entrants' to Pac-12 Media Deal per Canzano
Good point and good facts but every Pac team can say the same for every game broadcast on the Pac-12 Network. I do expect that BYU moving up to the P5 officially will draw more eyeballs.- 'New Entrants' to Pac-12 Media Deal per Canzano
FWIW, this is from Athlon Sports quoting ESPN's Heather Dinich. This appears to be good news, no news. https://athlonsports.com/college-football/pac-12-media-rights-deal-reportedly-set-to-be-on-par-with-acc-and-big-12- 'New Entrants' to Pac-12 Media Deal per Canzano
Not just Dallas where the size of a media market is more important than a team's brand. The B12 newbies average football game viewers in 2022: 38. BYU - 997K - BYU with the LDS affiliation has a national audience. Not of course, on the level of Notre Dame which ranks 6. with 3.3M viewers a game but only behind Pac-10 teams 12. Oregon - 2.21M, Utah - 1.16M, 34. UW - 1.15M. WA St is close at 41. and 907K. 55. Cincinnati - 653K - Cincinnati is approximately the same market size as Columbus. Ohio State is #1 with an average of 5.8M viewers. 61. UCF - 510K - Not that far behind 59. Miami - 608K and the Orlando market is now larger than the Miami market. With the B12 membership, I expect UCF to close the gap with Miami. 78. Houston - 242K. Houston, like SMU in Dallas, does not punch its weight in the Houston media market. Potential Pac-10 add-ons - 71. SMU - 312K, 85 - San Diego State - 198K Brands trump market size all across the country.- Blah, Blah Blah, Pac 12 Media Deal to be Announced "In the Near Future", But Not Friday/Media Day
Great take, Annie. Streaming will be in the mix but I hope it is with Amazon, Apple, or UTube (now in the football game with Sunday NFL telecasts) and not Peacock with its crummy 20M subscriber base. Peacock would not be a significant improvement over Larry's Loser Network. And with NBC's Notre Dame and B1G media deals, you can bet that Pac-10 games on Peacock would be late, late Eastern time kick-offs. The LA schools were not clued into Peacock being the exclusive broadcaster for 8 B1G games this season. One home game in LA for both LA schools is expected to be streamed on Peacock. The UW at Michigan State game will be shown exclusively on Peacock, (thanks for burying the P10 exposure) and Peacock had the contractual power to move a Sparty home game from E. Lansing to Detroit. A power that MI St did not know existed. Pigs keep coming out of the media poke that Kevin Warren put together. The 1st season distribution for each member school was supposed to be $70M. This dropped to $65M and is now down to $64M. Had SC and UCLA stayed in the Pac, SC could have received at least $50M. $14M and making your non-revenue sports athletes Frequent Flyer mileage champs justify the jump to B1G country? I think USC President Folt analyzed the deal as well as she analyzed the move into the Central time zone and the hire of her disgraced AD.- Brett Yormark Speaks; Big12 Media Days
Yes, Bob Bowlsby and not Yak-Yak brought on board all 4 of the B12 newbies including BYU. The Pac-12 world would be much different today had the conference hired former Iowa and Stanford AD Bowlsby instead of Larry.- What Are Realistic Expectations for Oregon in 2023?
Here's the answer on the clock continuing to run after 1st downs. It will run and likely reduce the number of plays by 7 or more. 5 rule changes that you need to know about going into the 2023 football season | Ducks Wire DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM A number of rule changes have been implemented for the coming college football season. Here’s a refresher on what changed.- Brett Yormark Speaks; Big12 Media Days
He's a flim-flam man writing expansion deals with his mouth that the media won't cash. His CBB games in Mexico are right up there with Larry's games in China. He took the quick and easy deal. Will it be a better deal than the Pac-10 deal? If not significantly better no Pac-10 school is leaving the Pac-10 for what is not the glorified G5 B12.- 'New Entrants' to Pac-12 Media Deal per Canzano
CW, rumored to be in the mix in the past has concluded a broadcast deal with the ACC. Could CW be one of the new players?- Ducks Have One of the Best Records in Football Over the Last 10 Years
Thank you for the post. Michigan has had back-to-back chances at greatness and is playoff 0-2. Ohio State has a playoff record of 3-4. Ohio State did come through when it snuck in as the 4 seed in the playoff's first season. But that Urban Meyer team was stacked with future pros and like all other teams that won the playoff, OH ST played 8 conference games and not the 9 the B1G plays today. If you want to see playoff titles look to the southeastern part of the country with its plethora of top-drawer recruits and huge administrative and fan support. The Clemson president and SEC presidents get that winning big-time trophies raises all conference boats. The B1G has had 7 shots at the playoff title and has 1 title. The B12 has had 5 shots and no titles. The Pac-12 has had 2 shots and no tiles. Notre Dame is 0-2 and the ACC is Clemson. It Just Means More rankles but in this case, the truth hurts. Titles from the list of the top 25 winning teams: 1. Alabama - 3 titles, 3. Clemson - 2 titles, 4. Georgia - 2 titles, 10. LSU - 1 title, 2. Ohio State - 1 title. Ohio State has more playoff appearances with fewer titles than any school in America. And the B1G is a superior football conference top to bottom?- What Are Realistic Expectations for Oregon in 2023?
Here's some love for Jordan Burch, Jurrion Dickey, Matayo Uiagalelei, Coach Dan Lanning, The Civil War, USC at Oregon, and a Troy vs Ducks champ game rematch. Ducks Wire Roundtable: Predicting the Pac-12 awards for 2023 season DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Pac-12 media day is later this week, so we wanted to get our year-end award predictions on record.- What Are Realistic Expectations for Oregon in 2023?

Pac-12 'friend' plays at Baylor in 2023 after opening with Florida.- Another Sign of NCAA Favoritism Towards the SEC?
This is what happens when a regional sport goes national and is monetized. College football media days? If these happened at all once upon a time there were ink-stained wretches only in attendance. Today? SEC media days run for four days, covered by the uber-successful SEC network. 72 hours of coverage. The B1G media day coverage is not this big but it does run for 2 days on a watched B1G network. Pac-12 media days for a conference with 5 and perhaps 6 teams ranked in the preseason, 1 day on the 13M subscriber Pac-12 network. My conclusion. What Dan Lanning is doing on the recruiting trail in light of this and all of the flack being thrown at the Pacific conference is simply amazing. This also shows the power of the Oregon brand. The Ducks need to do all it can when it comes to getting Puddles in front of a national audience and I hope Oregon will do all it can to retain the services of a young, enthusiastic top-drawer recruiter.- Total Offense, Defense Rankings 2023
If Dan has done the portal plugging we are all excited about on D, the D should and hopefully will step up from underperforming in 2022. But so much of these rankings depend upon the quality of the opposition you face on O and D. The Oregon D will be facing prolific O's in the conference and at Texas Tech. Going against the defending Heisman Trophy winner as well as UW's Penix and Utah's Rising among others. I see no other conference in CFB in 2023 that will be better on offense top to bottom than the Pac-12. With a balanced attack and an upgrade at WR, the O should pick up right where it started. I expect the OL will come through and someone will step up at TE. Bucky Irving made tremendous progress as a receiver last season and I expect this will continue in 2023. Lots of weapons for Will Stein and Bo to play with.- What? Oregon Has One of CFB's EASIEST Schedules?
