Will There Actually Be 50,000 at the Spring Game?
Love it! But UW compared to many other teams in the league does OK with attendance. UW along with Oregon and USC are the 3 Pac-12 schools in the CFB revenue top 25.

Told Ya: College Coaches Beginning to Leave, Cite NIL and Portal as Final Straw
"The NFL is easier compared to this (coaching CFB.) They (sic) have windows. They have long-term contracts. You (sic) have free agency in college football without a window. And you have them making salaries -NIL- without a cap. You've got all kinds of variables. Lane Kiffin

Mark Schlabach, ESPN: Updated 2022 Preseason Top 25
Great take. But I think 'stuff' like this probably makes Chip happy as he embraces the underdog role? Huge opening game at UF for the Utes. Cannot afford to get off to a slow start like in 2021. I'd love to see the Ducks in the Final 4. But if not the Ducks in 2022, then I would like to see a Pac-12 team finally back in the playoff field. With media rights renegotiation coming up soon, so would commissioner GK.

Opening Line for Ducks Opener: Georgia -15
My guess? 'Tween the Hedges' would perhaps, move the line up a half point to a point? I think UGA playing in the ATL is already, at -15, getting close to a home field bump? To me, UGA -15 looks like a concentrated effort to balance the book. Will be fun to see in which direction the line moves. I'm down with the Ducks at +15 and will follow the line north with an additional bet(s) if need be.

What Do YOU Want to See From the Oregon Spring Game?
I tried watching the USFL this weekend. Hard to get into it.

Opening Line for Ducks Opener: Georgia -15
This line also says a lot about this being a 'neutral site' game. I hope the Ducks will take the game well into the 4th quarter? Lots of big time recruits to replace the guys who left but UGA only returns 4 starters on D. 7 starters return on O including the QB coming off of winning the Natty.

What Do YOU Want to See From the Oregon Spring Game?
NO INJURIES! As Charles so noted, I definitely do not expect to see 'the full Monty' on O or D tomorrow. I'd like to see Thompson hit and not overthrow his receivers. Is he accurate enough at this level of football to justify a 5* ranking? He did not come out of the top division in Arizona HS football.

Opening Line for Ducks Opener: Georgia -15
Man, there is a big difference between +13.5/14 and +15. I'm on this before the line drops. However, I will not be betting at one of Charles' favorites, Woo Casino.

Opening Line for Ducks Opener: Georgia -15
The SEC conference plays 8 and not 9 conference games, and shells out to bring in stiffs for body bag games.

Told Ya: College Coaches Beginning to Leave, Cite NIL and Portal as Final Straw
To be successful in CFB (and CBB) you must recruit year round. Then, you have to re-recruit a lot of guys to keep them out of the portal. You also have to be recruiting out-of-the-portal to plug holes in the roster. Managing an NFL roster today compared to managing a CFB roster is a piece of cake. Not just CFB. Jay Wright is not an 'old 60' and he has resigned his job as the Villanova basketball head coach. As Dabo Swinney opined and Nick Saban and Lane Kiffin have supported him, 'THIS' is not sustainable.

Ducks Women's Golf--Pac-12 Champs, NCAA Regionals Next
Thanks for posting this Charles. Kind of astounding, no? 72 women's golf teams will compete in the post-season. Meanwhile, the folks who run the CFB playoff can't get past 4 teams? This is even more disconcerting when you consider that no net income will result from the women's championship being played. Expanding the CFB Playoff field would bring in multi-millions of additional dollars that help subsidize non-revenue sports. The lack of business sense shown by the folks in charge of college athletics is astounding. Hats Off to the Ducks Women's Golf Team!

Seven McGee says the Offense is Like Chip's
In theory, tomorrow I'll break the course record! Kidding! It will be great to watch an O that does rely on Lombardi's OL (god bless him) blowing guys off of the LOS.

Oregon's Receivers Want to be Like Alabama's Receivers

Do You Agree? Is the SCHWARTZ With YOU?
Didn't make a lot of $ as an actor but he didn't have to. Among other properties, his Dad owned the Ritz Carlton in Boston (now relocated) and the land it sat on; corner of Arlington and Boylston Streets in the Back Bay.

Mark Schlabach, ESPN: Updated 2022 Preseason Top 25
Mark Schlabach of ESPN, has updated his 2022 Preseason Top 25. OREGON comes it at No. 16, previously ranked (PR) No. 12. (?????) 2022 opponents - Georgia is No. 3, PR 3. Utah is No. 4, PR 7. BYU is No. 19, PR 18. Based on these rankings there is no doubt that in 2022 Oregon will have one of the most difficult out-of-conference schedules in the nation. Below are Schlabach's top 13, including No. 13 Houston, PR 13, that as the G5 participant would knock No. 12 USC, PR 22, out of a 12 team Playoff. A 12 team Playoff with all P5 champs and a G5 representative in the field and with the top 4 teams earning a 1st round bye. This would be the Schlabach-field for the 12 team, 2022 Playoff: 1. Alabama - SEC vs. 9. Michigan AL at 8. Michigan State AL 2. Ohio State - B1G vs. 10. Oklahoma State - B12 at 7. NC State - ACC 3. Georgia - AL vs. 11. Clemson AL at 6. Notre Dame AL 4. Utah - Pac-12 vs 12. Houston AAC/G5 at 5. Texas A+M AL As noted above, No. 13. Houston as the G5 representative would knock out No. 12 USC. Should the Playoff field expand come the 2026 season, Houston will be in the B12. Why Oregon drops 4 spots, Utah moves up 3 and USC moves up 10 (!) I have no idea; except, in the case of SC the earlier poll was released prior to signing QB Caleb Williams. Williams is good, but 10 spots up good? All of these preseason 'guesses' are long distant dart tosses; including, Schlabach's human guess and computer programmed guess work. Personally, with the Utah game being played in Eugene, I think the Ducks will finish better than 16. Utah will miss the 4 team playoff and USC will not finished higher ranked than Oregon. In 2022, Oregon can go 10-2 in the regular season and still win the Pac-12 with a win in the conference champ game. THIS is what I think is going to happen. But I am also throwing darts.

Cost Per Win--the Ducks are Doing Great
Andy Staples of The Athletic (pay wall) has posted a list of what each of the 65 P5 teams paid per CFB win from 2010 through 2019. Number 1, where you do not want to be ranked, is Kansas at $8.96M a win. The Ducks come in at a very, very respectable Number 60 - $2.48M a win. By conference: SEC - $4.09M B1G - $3.87M ACC - $3.38M Pac-12 - $3.44M B12 - $3.42M CFB is a Big Business. Also, Dennis Dodd has a great article on Dan Lanning and his roots on CBS Sports NCAA Football site, no pay wall.

Do You Agree? Is the SCHWARTZ With YOU?
The Schwartz. Straight out of Mel Brook's 'Spaceballs.' But where is Pizza the Hut? I played HS football with George Wyner, who had a big part in Spaceballs and was Fletch's lawyer in the Fletch movies. THIS is my 'biggest' claim to fame as a football player.
