  1. I think it will burn Ty's redshirt if he plays?
  2. Moorhead is quoted as saying he was focused on the game on Saturday. Since the game actually is on Friday, yeah, i think he is gone.
  3. If we are honest, who, before the season, thought we would even be considered for a moment for the CFB? I certainly NEVER considered it for a second. If we wind up at 10-2 or 10-3, I would consider that a great season and slightly better than what I anticipated. Then when you throw in the key injuries, I think...how did we hang around this far? Now, we hope to see the strength of our head coach....encouraging the kids who have to be frustrated and devastated.
  4. That was one of the best posts I have seen and very thought provoking. After being thoroughly discouraged and wondering if there is anybody who can take over AB's spot for next year , it gave a different and hopeful perspective. Thanks.
  5. if the players quit, so did the coaches. What kind of insanity was that play calling on the last series?
  6. Before the last series of 1st half , in our household we all agreed it would be nuts to do anything other than take a knee. AB was 5 for 14 or so, running was ...well, hard to know when Dye only had 3 running plays. All we needed to do was run out the clock. What could possibly go wrong? GRRRR
  7. ok, for all of you armchair coaches, what the heck on AB's last interception...did moorhead actually call for that long play on 2nd and 8 when we were needing to run out the clock? Am i that lousy of an armchair coach that i was screaming....WHY??????? Also, whose responsibility to let the on field coaches know when we made a 1st down and a replay would clearly show it? Instead of 1st down it was 3rd? seriously want to know thoughts on those 2 plays?
  8. JHOP says his sources tell him that MC is going with AB, that he has no info that indicates the youth movement will involve the QB situation because MC still believes AB gives us the best chance to win. And every time I hear that AB gives us the best chance to win, i think " yikes...is TT not who we think? " Then i am reminded that Marcus was not ready in year 1 either....took an entire redshirt either. But i confess to being nervous.
  9. I don't believe we do, and if I am honest, when I see the product on the field in 4 of the 5 games we have played, we are not close to the top teams. If we had continued to play like we did in Ohio, yes. But we didn't.
  10. Coaches need to understand their players strengths and weaknesses. It is imperative that they do so, and coach accordingly. QB Anthony Brown is an adequate QB, but adequate is not enough here. He does not have to be great, or even pretty good. He does need to be good. Historically, he completes 50 to 55 percent of his passes....and this is as a 6 yr player. We don't need 75 percent accuracy, but 50 %, with balls thrown consistently behind the receivers, with not being able to be accurate for the most part past 5 to 7 yards is NOT WORKING. As coaches need to understand the players weaknesses and make adjustments, they need to understand their own. This is where I see major flaws in MC. He is one of the best recruiters in college football, he is a man of good character , intense work ethic and more, but he is either blind to certain things about his own strengths and weaknesses or just plain stubborn. Whichever it is, i don't care, but unless he can fix that problem by first acknowledging it and then doing something about it, we are going to continue to see the head coach contributing to our losses .
  11. In 5 games we have played well the entire game once. The other 4 times, against far inferior opponents, we have played only half of the game. We have an adequate QB. Tonight he threw 1 interception but could easily have been 4. His yardage was acceptable , solely because the 5 to 6 yard passes were turned into larger gains ( 1 for 66 or so yards) due to our running. 1 pass down field was caught...1. Wrong reads. This is an experienced QB. Coaches say he gives us the best chance to win ..that alone worries me. Clock management AGAIN. Cristobal a great man, probably best recruiter around, but can he coach on game day? Hindsight always easier but man, in 5 games we have played well once. We are not getting better, but worse. Looking at the other top 10 teams, I have never felt we were in the same ballpark with most of them. But i have to admit, before season began, thought we were a year or two away from top 10 . But with every win ) other than Ohio ST, i thought " this is not what a top 10 team looks like, and top 3....no way. So, who are these young men and can Mario coach them up from this loss ?
  12. Personal opinion as to why we lost: ( i know hindsight is easy but....) 1) adequate play from QB is not good enough. We don't need great, but we do need more than just adequate. 2) kick a field goal at end of first half 3) clock management....don't give Stanford that extra timeout 4) lack of discipline on the last drive. How many yards did we give them? Love MC and think he is a fine head coach but not a good game day coach. Get an experienced coach to manage game day.
  13. Great idea....just completed my first purchase. It's been impossible to not root for this kid and to have such respect for him---so happy that someone had the desire and willingness to provide a way to provide a tangible way of expressing that respect. Thanks to those of you who took the initiative.
