  1. "the NFL legend always finds a way to keep his face in the spotlight"

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I always thought the above about Tonya Harding.

They can't seem to get enough of themselves and want attention at any cost.

I do hope the Buffs can improve so the conference is stronger as long as they always lose to the Ducks.

I can't envision Sanders living in Boulder very long. Too small and isolated for his ego. And it's a long-backside drive to the Denver airport!

Truth should never be the enemy. But, I am reminded that just because you can doesn't mean you should. A few words are always taken out of context and the Young gentleman did himself no favors. He actually created more questions. Some of those, not all, will be about his character.

Very true. But it's too bad Leach gets a free pass, at least for now.

Leach is in a position of influence and power over this young man. I believe the young man is a victim of abuse (could be wrong).

If he is, he may not have felt safe and yet wanted to call him out.

    So, Leach should be questioned.

Some kids dont do well to adverse and tough environments. I wonder what his previous Coaches have to say about his 'Character'.

His comment lines up perfectly with Leach's classless character based on past statements and actions that are well documented.

But, the kid gets pounded for revealing truth. One post and his character is challenged?

When did truth become the enemy?

Nautique Duck, you are absolutely correct. When I read this post, I thought it odd that it was coming from an Auburn site. I hadn't seen anything regarding this on Oregon sites, in fact more the opposite.

Lanning was indeed talking about DJ Johnson during his press conference a couple of days ago. Please refer to the transcript below. You will find this exact quote in the first question after his opening statement. That is pretty reckless/stupid of this Auburn writer.

    247SPORTS.COM

Oregon head coach Dan Lanning met with the media on Sunday to discuss Oregon's bowl announcement.  Here is a complete...

I remember him talking about Johnson now.

Auburn is backside hurt. <---- might be auto corrected...might not.

    Probably...

I do think another transfer QB is on the table now... then let that transfer QB, Thompson and Moore fight it out in practice.

Really want 3 scholarship QBs on the roster. Anymore than that is unreasonable in this day and age.

    I agree!

Editing to add I'm guessing Lanning might be using these comments to signal an opening for others to consider.

This is a collusal failure by Lanning.

No, not even close to a colossal failure by Lanning.

Purchasing an $11,000 sky box to watch the Ducks play a game they aren't playing might be, though.

Great game. Williams is putting up a heroic effort. Ducks would've  been called on the Rising hit, vicious. I thought it was targeting.

I say absolutely targeting. Head straight down, crown looked like it made contact. NO attempt by the defender to change his head position. That type of hit is EXACTLY WHY targeting became a thing.

But it is USC. Glad they are gone and they were humiliated after ALL the pre-game hype by Fox.

So….what? His most prolific offenses were with those two guys and he couldn’t win the NC. Then he went on to have offenses that never finished above 11th in the Pac 12 and a 4-21 run at Cal Poly. Chip Kelly was awesome up until 2012 and he has coached like Chip Diller since then.

Point being he did fine with and without them at EWU. That's what.

    Numerous EWU players were drafted.

My comment was directly related to the fact he got an NC without them. PERIOD!

    LOL

After spending all season heading full steam ahead towards the CFP or Rose Bow, Oregon is now relegated to the worthless Toilet Bowl in San Diego probably and I couldn't care less what happens in that game. Won't even watch. That's how much of a dissapointment this season has been.

Losing to both your rivals in the manner they did will do that. You can blame me being spoiled or unappreciative of the struggles the program went through in the 80's but I wasn't alive then so that really means nothing to me. The standard is the standard. You either uphold the standard or fail. They failed.

I'm not sure your opinion is unpopular.  Could be that the majority just aren't as brave as you.

As Lanning says..."That being said", I still feel much better about how the offense was run from an innovative perspective.

Game one showed everyone the Ducks defense was not CFP ready in the least.

My opinion is many of us fans were seduced into thinking the Ducks deserved CFP consideration after BYU, the WSU comeback, and the UCLA domination.

I don't think very many expected the defensive play to level out and then digress later when it mattered most.

The Nix injury was a huge impact and the questionable calls at key/critical moments created a disastrous trifecta (defense, injury, play calling).

I'm going to watch the Ducks play in the "been there" bowl.

I'm looking for a silver lining for 2023.

In fact, I'd like to see Bo call the plays. I think he's perfectly capable.

Anyway, I'm glad you posted your thoughts. You gave me some things to ruminate on. 🙂

No it wasn't sarcasm. He did leave but most OCs want to be HCs so I don't blame him for leaving, especially for a plum group of 5 gig like UNLV.

I doubt most assistant coaches would want to work with Mario again, especially OCs.

    Ok. Gotcha! Sorry.

Could be a candidate for the OC position here at Oregon.  He actually wasn't half-bad considering what we now know was incessant meddling by Mario in his offensive schemes plus the dearth of receiver talent at the time...

Is this sarcasm, as well? Not throwing shade, but I missed it before in another thread.

I vote NO! He could have stayed. He left. The locks were changed. Call Mario.

I mentioned this in another thread.  I feel like Arroyo didn't do a half-bad job now that we know Mario's insistence on interfering with offensive schemes on and off the field, plus there was a distinct dearth of receiver talent at that time.  I think he'd do a ton better calling plays when having both a talented QB like Nix AND receivers like Franklin, Thornton, Ferguson, Matavao...

I agree he would do better...but I'd give the credit more to Herbert and those receivers.
