Why? Dilly was extremely successful. The Ducks’ offense began scoring ~40 ppg again and was one of the most efficient offenses in Oregon football history.

MC is so fun to ridicule because he talked such a “big game” but led incredible talent to severely underperform…and still doing that at Miami, haha

Dilly with a healthy Bo vs Dilly without Bo was night and day.

Dilly getting on a private jet just minutes after a horrible loss due to crappy play calling instead of "being there" for the team just stinks.

I understand why folks have reason to like him, but his lack of awareness of others is evident to me.

    Good riddance.

Out of the guy’s on this list, I’d go with Brennan Marion. Did really nice things as the OC at Howard and William & Mary.

The GoGo is also only a portion of what he does offensively. His offense is a version of the Malzahn/Norvell offense and uses the same verbiage.

I also believe that the choice will be Coach Lanning’s alone.

I'm a "retread"...more like a worn tread, but I'd rather see someone who is up to date on successful recruiting methods and also is innovative on offense.

NFL experience doesn't impress me. Football at the two levels is different for many reasons. I'm not saying I wouldn't want a former NFL coach, but that alone doesn't impress me.

Marion is an intriguing story, though.

Did Canzano really talk to more than one donor or is he just stirring the pot for clicks? His articles contain a high percentage of drama vs football analysis as seen in OBD articles.

Screw the donors. Look at Miami, Michigan State, and Texas A & M and DON'T be like them.

I agree with coach Boles. I think Lanning needs to be the guy that makes the hire.

    Top 3 priorities:

    - Hire the best OC asap

    - Get the QB situation fixed by the Spring game

    - Fix the defense before the 2023 opener.

Lanning is receiving much criticism for some fourth down calls. However, I think it was our completely porous defense in the 4th quarter that gave away the game. Had the D showed up just a little, the fourth and one calls would not have mattered. In fact, perhaps the thinking was our D can't stop anything, so we had better try anything to stay on offense.

The lack of D is absolutely the reason Oregon lost.

My D IQ is very low. I can't figure out why they seemed to do well vs UCLA and Utah and were a no show vs UW and OSU.

Rising had a bad game. I didn't see anything glaringly wrong with UCLA.

The D couldn't stop a 3rd string RB at OSU when they knew the run was coming.

Does the above seem like a fair take?

    How about this guy?

I feel like the Duck O this year was light years ahead of Arroyo's Ducks with Herbert.

Arroyo's win/loss record since leaving Oregon is bad.

I'd like to hear compelling reasons, though.

  5. I didn't expect that open ended response from him.

I can't imagine why he would stay.

But he has a dad with a perfect background to help him make the best choice.

It sounds like he'll play in the bowl game and I expect his ankle to be healthy by then.

    Joey Harrington.

He LOVES the Ducks, he studies film like an IRS tax auditor looking over Martha Stewart's books, he is connected with the school, alumni, and Mr. Phil.

I am/have always been a huge fan of Harrington and when I listen to him break down an offensive scheme, HE GETS it.  I think he would also be an incredible recruiter!

So, I've thrown out the name.... let the fun begin!!  And be gentle...I'm sensitive.  😀

Never crossed my mind. I love the idea.

I do have some concerns about Oregon next year and going forward.  It seems to me, the whole success of this years team was on the back of Bo Nix.  It will be pretty hard to replicate his arm, legs, and football intelligence.  We've seen the results of not having him play, or play hurt.  It's not pretty.

Dillingham did a great job play calling for the most part this year.  He was very imaginative, and adjusted well to game situations.  Can we find someone that is equally as dynamic and football smart?

With Dillingham leaving, what will happen to our recruitng class?  Do we loose our 5 star QB and receiver?  What current players follow him?  I assume it would be ones not getting enough playing time, like maybe Thompson or Dollars.  But finding a comparable replacement for Bo is imperative.

Does the ending to this season tarnish the Oregon brand as far as the national audience and potential recruits are concerned ?  We're a well known team at present, but at some point, we need to deliver the goods to stay relevant.

What will happen to Oregon in conference realignment?  Will we stay as a top team in a very weakened Pac 10 ?  Will we be swallowed up in the Big 10?  Where do we land and how will it affect us?

Whle I'm sure these concerns I have can be overcome, I'm just not as optomistic as I'd like to be.  I think Lanning is great and I love the more aggressive and unpredictable offense, but there is a lot to solve before next year.

Wanted to agree by saying "hear, hear" instead of just a quick click on an emoji.

Overall, a fun season and many great plays.

But I'm still not buying a "We want 'Bama" shirt.

  8. These should be sponsored by Tide.

I've watched just about every presser and they have become a rinse and repeat show.

He gets tossed softballs and deflects on questions that hit too close to home.

Over the next 2 years I want to see his recruiting class results,  player and coach retention year over year, and player development, along with in-game management and adjustments.

Let me know if he actually adds any value while hitting softballs...maybe I'll watch.
