I have to say it's wild still to think that we're going to playing Ohio St. next year at Autzen in a league game, then going to Michigan and Wisconsin, and finally ending the season at home against Washington.

    💯

    I could not agree more!

Maybe it’s just recency bias, but I am so over playing the mountain, desert, and bay area teams. They are all downside and no upside.

I am sooooo excited to play all these midwest and east coast teams.

It was both coaching and execution in summary

I agree with all your points.

I would add that when a team fails to execute, that’s on the coaches.

OBD have a superior roster to almost every other FBS team and def UW.

If OBD players don’t “execute,” it’s not bc they didn’t try hard enough or were too weak or didn’t do enough film study.

It’s bc the coaches didn’t prepare them.

My theory is that Campbell was the main recruiter and game coach - perhaps also the main practice coach. He had good success at Sacramento State and is now turning around the program at TCU. I think he was a key cog on the staff and is missed.

    💯

Sabrina and Campbell covered for Graves’ ineptitude.

I have never been a Graves fan, even during the Sab years.

His game-time demeanor is both cranky and uninspired.

Graves had the luxury of riding the coattails of Ionescue to look like a genius.

It’s long past time for Graves to go.

  4. When Mari-no-O left, DeBoer was at the top of my list for OBD. I was extremely impressed with DeBoer’s work at Fresno State.

I was disappointed and scared when I learned DeBoer was headed to UW. (While I was thrilled that Riley was headed to U$C.)

When it became clear DL was gonna be our guy, I was pleased and excited.

With all that said, I do think DL has a KD problem.

I’ve seen a lot of people saying that DL had a good game plan but OBD didn’t execute.

It is the coach’s job to teach players how to execute. And on paper, OBD has better players.

So if Fusky players executed better, it was bc they were better coached.

However, I am impressed with DL’s improvement from year 1, and I KNOW that DL is learning from KD.

I am 💯 that DL will eventually flip the script and beat KD consistently.

the CFP right now favors one loss teams over anyone with two losses. Championship games are a liability for a lot of teams and will continue to be.

With the larger playoff, it opens the door door for 2-loss conf champs.

That certainly would have benefited the PAC.

And w the B1G eliminating divisions, that might be a help down the line.

  6. @QuackAttack, I haven’t seen anything from the CFP committee to suggest your result.

From the first week, OBD have been the top 1-loss team.

As each other team loses, they are dutifully ranked behind OBD.

I actually think there are reasons to rank other 1-loss teams above OBD, but I will not describe them bc they aren’t worthy.
