  1. This should be first priority. This is what I will be looking for as the game plays out. Ducks have the backers to shut down Ott, plus Evan Williams. The D line is nasty and deep. Want to see the D get better regardless of competition level. The Ducks are a very good team. Cal isn't in the same stratosphere as Oregon. I said in another thread, there is a different vibe to Oregon I have never experienced as a Duck fan. Imo, Ducks run the table and make the playoff. Fusky got lucky and the country knows it. If Ducks had won that game they'd be #1 in CFP.
  2. Good, I hope the "fanatic" in you takes over for the next month. This team is very good. The vibe isn't anything the Duck fanatics have experienced, ever! RELEASE THE FANATIC!!

  4. Understandable! Lanning knew a thing or two about that UGA team. Kirby did the same for Dan aftwr the game
  5. I would like to see a couple of OOC games played later in the year. Get a couple cupcakes to rest up yet still stay on a schedule
  6. I dont know if there will be a B1G CG. But with a 12 team playoff, 4 to 5 B1G teams will get in every year. If you look at the CFP rankings, if I remember right, 11 of top 12 are future B1G and SEC. I think the CFP is saying that 8-10 spots are reserved for the Big 2 conferences. This probably opens up a whole other conversation but I think "they" want 2 conferences when it all shakes out. Just how it looks to me. I could be wrong.
  7. Oregon has the best QB in the country. Cal has a very young inexperienced QB. Bucky is better than Ott, Ott has 24 more carries for 22 more yards than Bucky. Both with 8 TDs, "better" might be a stretch due to the difference in O line quality. Then there is Franklin. But where this game is won is in the trenches and Oregon Dominates on both sides of the ball. Scheme all you want but in the end it's all about Jimmy's and Joe's. And Ducks have some Dudes. Oregon LB play has taken another step up. Bassa will probably spy Ott and Jacobs will play pass rush and QB. I think Lupoi should flip that and use JJ to spy Ott. Otts a big dude. But Bassa is a better defender in the pass D. So having Bassa defend Ott when he leaks is probably a good idea. All of this is just me "pondering". But imo, Cal doesn't come close in this one. I wouldn't be surprised if Ducks hold Cal to 6 or fewer.
  8. This is a good schedule that is going to test OBD. A test that every national champion should have to go through. Getting tested in reg season will prepair Ducks for the massive challenge of a playoff. With an expanded playoff, there is a little more wiggle room to drop a game or two. We will see how the Ducks look next year, mainly the QB position. But I think this is a manageable schedule. Whisky and Mich on the road is a great challenge, love it. Having those late in the year gives OBD a chance to peak. Husky will be trash next year but Ohio State will be a tough home game. I like a win v. tOSU. After Ducks win the NC this year, I hope Lanning gets busy in the portal stacking this team with Dudes imeadiatly. Going to need to stack the roster to get to a playoff for sur
  9. When the camera is aimed at Nix before the game. Look in his eyes and it will tell you how this game is going to go. As Nix goes this team follows
  10. I doubt Lanning bounces if offeredby a blue blood. For what? The only thing these teams have over the UofO is legacy. Lanning seems like a 'go with the one that brought ya' tyoe of guy. I think Lanning would rather create legacy right where he is. It's just one fans opinion
  11. I like them. They come across as a matte which I am a fan of. They should have used a burnt yellow and matched the helmet.
  12. Could insert that quote 3 weeks ago. Fuxin' to find out for sure.
  13. Utes and Auburn held Cal to two scores. I think the spread should be higher. It this ends in a shutout it wouldn't surprise me.

  15. Think about it Charles, what Bo did at Rice-Eccles is absolutely refuse to allow Utes elite defense to dictate terms at any level. He refused to allow Utes to believe they had any chance from start to finish. I would have loved to have been a staffer and watch the prep leading up to the Utes game. This team, lead by Lanning and Nix jumped fully in. A lot of guys played a role, players and coaches alike. But this team is lead by two men, everyone else is fully bought it. And that is a dangerous team that is emerging. Herbstreit knows! If I am a little over the top it's because this thread got me juiced for some reason. No apologies!
  16. I was thinking about this yesterday. When Bo's playing days are over, My money would be on him coming back to Oregon or Auburn and coach QBs. Work his way up the ladder and find himself as an elite OC. The experiences he has had under Lanning are rare. I too, have never seen QB play at such a high level in the college game. Lanning says Bo is the best QB in the nation. That Bo is special. I don't know that all the so called "experts" understand the depth of Lannings claim. I don't know that anyone outside of the team can understand or know compleatly. Something dramatically changed in Bo with that Husky loss. I have a feeling that Bo Nix will not allow this team to fail again. Bo Nix came back for one reason, a National Championship. It really really really feels like that is exactly what he is going to do. IMO, we are watching the greatest Duck QB in our 100+ year history. I have loved and savored every moment.
  17. The issue that will be difficult to hurdle is the QB that Nix is. Expectations of QB play at Oregon is going to be through the roof. Super unfair to the next guy but thats how it goes. Unless the next guy plays at the level (or close) Nix plays, Duck fans just might lose their minds next year. I have a tendancy to poke at the Eeyors here. Hope I don't get expelled . Just thought I would drop this little seed now. Should be entertaining watching heads explode
  18. 4 future BIG teams ranked in the top 6. This is going to be a nasty conference. There are 4 teams that will push for a playoff birth. 7 if you count USC, Fusky and Whisky. I think Badgers will be above USC and Husky most years.
  19. I am a passionate opinionated college football fan. Love the Ducks and live for fall Saturdays.

I participate on this forum for entertainment only. College football is an obsession of mine but in the end, it's just a game.

  20. There is going to be a ton of youth on this defensive front next year. Guys like Mateo and Pleasant ar getting a lot of quality snaps this year so they will have some experience in the young guys. Rushing is a dude. Tall, long and twitchy. Get that kid on a diet and in the weight room. If he can keep his twitch at 275-280 and, he is going to tear up B1G O lines. I am hoping Burch sticks around for his senior year. Even if Burch goes draft, Lanning and Lupoi are deadly in the portal. This should be a great front 7 next year even with the departures and unknowns. Stacking back to back top 10 classes is amazing. Keep doing that, add great TP acquisitions, and Ducks become one of the few that reloads every year. Lanning has worked under some great coaching staffs, Bulldogs and Bama. He knows what it looks like. He is doing things at Oregon you see at the top progr'ms in the country. Duck fans have a lot to look forward to for years to come.

  22. Air Force and Tulane sit at #24 and #25. Shows respect but looks like the CFP isn't looking to have another Cincinnati fiasco.
