  1. I saw the article. A huge chunk of those players were aquired within about 18 months of each other. Lannings been HC for less than 1.5 seasons. Most of the Dudes on this team, Lanning brought in. So since Lanning took the job he loaded this team with elite players. Implemented his vision and has them playing at a high level. There was an article about Ducks being Different. Lanning is the reason. And the Ducks are different in a way that we haven't seen since CK if ever. That is also because of Lanning. I guess if a rebuild is now defined within the confines of an off season then ok. But to me that is a reload. I point to what Lanning did last off season to support my argument. Every weakness from last year is now a strength. Every one! Can anybody here point to a position group that is weak? I don't see one. So Lanning didn't show us a rebuild from the time he was hired. He just loaded up in his first full offseason. I don't see that changing. Dan's been a part of some of the best coaching staffs in the country. Two of them don't rebuild they reload. And Dan Lanning seems to have been as good of a pupil and he is a teacher. If a one or two loss season is considered a failure (like at Bama) one day at Oregon, how sweet it will be. I don't think Lanning is interested in rebuilds, doubt he has the patients or tolerance for it. It's not in his DNA imo. And the proof spans his entire coaching career. We will see if I am wrong by mid 25' season.
  2. No team in the country can replace Bo. It is what it is. But Lanning will fill the position with a above avg QB. It's what lanning does. Lanning built this team in a little over a year. Dan sees a problem and he fixes it. There are studs all over this football team. Lanning put them there, coached them and made them better. Why are we thinking just because Bo leaves Oregon will be in a rebuild. Coach has done nothing to back that claim. We will see over the off season. But my bet is Laning reloads the chamber for another shot next year. He hasn't shown me anything contrary to that.
  3. Moore threw the pick 6 going into the half. 14 point swing. 88 yard return...ouch
  4. Dante Moore throws a pick6 at 12 yard line going into half. Oops!
  5. UCLA giving Cougs all they can handle. Hope WSU wins this game. Ducks don't play Bruins. Need cougs to stay ranked until Ducks play them in two weeks
  6. I disagree but super curious as to why you think it won't "be there for a few more years"?
  7. Does Okie jump Oregon this week? Does Texas stay in front of Ducks? It wouldn't surprise me one bit.
  8. Just got back from 7 y.o. flag football to catch end of this Okie v. Texas game. Great ending for sure
  9. Coach Lupoi at edge rusher Elijah Rushing's game... https://highschool.si.com/recruiting/2023/10/07/oregon-ducks-coach-tosh-lupoi-spotted-at-game-of-5-star-edge-rusher-and-arizona-pledge-elijah-rushing
  10. Perhaps many fans don't/can't fully appreciate starting the 23' season 5-0. Oregon has a ton of Eeyore fans. Glass is always half empty with these fans. Most fan bases have these fans. I think most fans of Oregon are starting to see something special brewing out of Eugene. Some here on OBDF saw it before the season started. A win next Saturday will bring a ton more into that realization. What gives optimism is the way they have won these first 5 games. Although the competition hasn't been daunting, Ducks have dominated their opponents when the regular rotation has been on the field. As I said before, it's how it looks, eyes don't lie. It's important to me to stay in the season we are in. This is not close to the same team from 22'. Especially on defense and the Oline. Nor in the WR room for that matter. How Lanning flipped the defense from what was last year to this years performance is astonishing. I don't know the final ranking of the 22' D, I do remember at one point they were around 110th in total D. Right now they sit around 7th. 2024 will take care of itself. It will get here soon enough. When it does, we have reason to believe Lanning will have a very talented team in the national conversation. This coming week is going to be especially fun. Lead up to big games like the one in front of Oregon don't come around often. This is the first game in 100+ years of this much hated rival with the magnitude of this one. Never has this rivalry game had national implications as this one will. And the lead up is the funnest part. So for me, I am going to enjoy this week. Stay in the moment and soak in a first time experience (for both fan bases). Yep, this is special In so many ways. Go Ducks!!! HUCK THE FUSKIES!!!
  11. I think Penix is in trouble next Saturday. Ducks have racked stats defensively this year. More importantly, they pass the eye test This D has done exactly what it should do regardless of the strength of opponents. And they have looked great doing it. You put Taki, Popo and Burch or Dorlus on the field. You gotta decide which two you are going to double. Tough choice. Any of them can beat ono on ones at a regular clip.
  12. Copy, I could have read you wrong. 15 hr days this week will do that. On the "spy" statement. I think that just because of Nix as a threat running, DeBore (back to preferred spelling) will spy him. I really hope he does. Takes a defender away and gives Oregon an advantage in the passing game and RPO. Even the slightest extra focus on Bo as a runner could give Oregon an advantage.
  13. Kalen Deboer W-L record Sioux Falls 67-3 Fresno State 12-6 Washington 16-2 Total 95-11 Thats at three different levels. Never said he was the GOAT. Never even implied he was the GOAT. At this point that title belongs to Sabin imo. I said he was brilliant and the numbers back that claim. He is a great football coach and his record proves that. I, as well as many others on here, believe Chip is/was a brilliant coach. Chip went 46-7 at Oregon and 2-2 in bowl games. He is 30-30 at UCLA. I still think Chip has a brilliant football mind. Even though he is .500 at Bruins. Belichich is also a brilliant football mind. Just because Deboer is the head coach of the one team I hate most does not mean I can't recognize him for his accomplishment. I hate Pete Carroll to this day because of his time at USuC. He is still brilliant as a head coach. Hope I cleared this up.
  14. Great topic. It takes a special kind if person to get a bunch of big time guys to buy into the idea of be a part "of" as apposed to being the "of". In a world where the transfer portal and NIL are a major factor, getting these players to set aside ego and become a player amongst players can't be an easy thing to accomplish. I pull hard grade with a Cummins ISX at 105,500 lbs. It does a great job when all the parts operate correctly within the system. All equally important to the end goal. When we watch the Ducks play, when they are operating at a high level together, its one of the most beautiful things to watch. Especially for high IQ fans.
  15. This is why Penix doesn't run the football. Can't blame him. "He suffered a torn ACL in both 2018 and 2020. He also suffered a sternoclavicular joint injury in 2019, then an AC joint (shoulder) injury in 2021." flush him out, get him on the run and Penix is a fraction of the QB he is when comfortably in the pocket. Oregon has the Dogs to really put the fear into Penix. If Oregon gets good pressure from rushing three and bring the blitz from anywhere else on the field, Fusky is in for a long afternoon.
  16. The problem with Fusky is they can't recruit. DeBore is a great coach. He just can't get blue chips to commit. After this year Washington is done. They will be Neb 2.0 within 3 years in the B1G. Oregon on the other hand... Dudes will be linning up to come to Oregon. Ducks win the B1G by the time the inks dry on the next media contract.
  17. Seriously, Rising needs to bag this season. Way to risky. Why KW isn't telling him this makes no sense. Call it a day Cam and start working out for the draft. Get right and have a long NFL carrer. Better to hold a clipboard in the league healthy than working a 9-5 at the Wall Drug.
  18. Rising might want to think twice about that. Unless he want a medical retirement. Coming back for Oregon is a bad career choice.
  19. jerk Butkus, NFL Hall of Famer and former Bears linebacker, dies at 80 WWW.NBCNEWS.COM Butkus, who played nine seasons with the Bears, is considered among the best...
  20. I like the scheduling. Other than travel distance, the schedule next year isn't any harder than this year. Looking at how much Oregon plays Buckeye and Wash plays Mich, seems the B1G is trying to start some new rivalries. Can't wait, lets get it on!
  21. Think Lanning said KJ participated in practice and is good. If I heard that right it is great after hearing Noah is lost for the season. Can anyone confirm this.
  22. Feel bad for Noah. Oregon is loaded so he can heal up and Ducks won't miss a beat.
  23. DeBore is going to spy Nix. Doesn't matter that he hasn't been used in the run game. DeBore knows the threat Nix is as a runner. DeBore is brilliant. One of the best X/O minds in college football. As a head coach he has 70+ wins and like 11 loses. Fusky will have an excellent game plan on both sides of the ball. I think Bo will look to run a few times. But it wont be called from the sideline. It will be called from the LOS by Bo. I think Lanning and Stein are going to let Bo decide and not put him in harms way. Fusky also has an excellent OC in Grubb. Grubb probably gets a HC job next year. This is going to be interesting how this game plays out from the sideline. With Bo essentially being a co-oc, I give the advantage to Oregon
