  1. I just hope for a competitive (one score) game versus Georgia. Then the Ducks need to improve weekly. If that happens a win against the Utes in inevitable. As is a win against whoever is in the P12 championship game. I'm not saying any of this is going to happen. I'd be happy with a 10 win season and not playing down to the competition. That is my realistic hope for this year.
  2. DazeNconfused..... You need a new name. You seem anything accept dazed or confused! Another great well thought out post. Love him or hate him Mario can gather talent. If only he could draw up a game plan. He'd be unstoppable! Until then he'll scrape by on collected talent alone. I see a lot of nine win seasons in his future.
  3. Enjoyed your well thought out post and agree for the most part. I believe overall talentwise it is a wash. But, we have collected many players with specific coach ties. This will help the communication/comprehension of the new staff and players. This will be huge in how fast the new system develops and manifests itself on the field. This staff continues to impress me with their foretaught and purposeful moves.
  4. So true! MC won a decent percentage of games. But, that percentage looks much better than it would have against a competitive Pac12. Put him in this league 10-15 years ago he'd be a .500 coach. Albeit a .500 coach who can recruit. I'm so looking forward to points on the board and excitement in the stands. You know..... Oregon football! Go Ducks!!!
  5. I was not happy to see this. He was one of the guys I was impressed with during the spring game. He seemed like an upgrade to Snee.
  6. That was EXACTLY my thought! I'll read everyone's CliffsNotes throughout the day.
  7. I think this goes without saying.... at least it does in my cart!
  8. With 4.93 million maybe they can afford to splurge (spend the extra 100k) and buy the house behind the tee box next time.
  9. Very well put! I was always pulling for him. But, was never impressed by the product on the field. Thanks goodness for Autzen traditions that made game day tolerable.
  10. It's Sunday and I don't have much time. But here were my thoughts from the Spring Game. 1) QB's... I marched into Autzen pulling for TT. I left believing he is the #3 QB. Nix appeared (to me) to easily be the starter. 2) RB's... I was impressed with Sean Dollars. He was running with more aggression and vision than the other backs. Again just my opinion. 3) DJ looked great on defense. He has talent at TE.... But, he belongs on the D. 4) Cota and Thorton (?). We will be hearing these names A LOT this year. Very impressed with the WR's. Overall was happy with how the team looked when thinking how young they are... and learning a new system. Autzen is so amazing when under blue skies. One negative observation. I had some students right behind me. The whole group (15-20 of them) seemed to hold a severe prejudice against who they call "Auburn Boy". I was not impressed. I may be old. But, why come to a scrimmage game to heckle/boo/curse anyone on the team that reps your University? They were so oblivious to what was going on they were calling Butterfield "Auburn Boy" as well. I have to say I was very disappointed in this group of our young fans. I can only hope they gain some knowledge and respect by fall.
  11. In other news. Florida State just offered Pitcher Owen Woodward a scholarship to play linebacker for their football team. We are told Crusty Crab Legs is all in with NIL endorsement. We'll keep you posted on this developing story...
  12. Agreed! I feel much more confident that DL (and staff) will have the Ducks coached up and thriving to learn. If he can keep the recruiting on par with Mario... the sky's the limit!
  13. While I agree with this statement.... one must remember that a Head Coach is responsible for both coaching and recruiting. So while you have the right to be highly critical of his coaching (most all of us would agree). I would think you could agree that he left the program/roster in better shape than he inherited it. I believe roster change was what Flintstone was referring to.
  14. This! QB is the one position that is much more than being a great athlete. Many of the greatest QBs of all time were not great athletes.... But, they all had great minds that could process all the moving parts of the game quickly. Ty even admitted a week or two ago that things are finally starting to click. Hopefully, this portion of his game will catch up to his athleticism.
  15. Whoa whoa whoa.... that makes entirely to much sense. We can not expect our coaches to do anything that makes sense!
  16. Oh you could.... and it will get you more clicks! But, thank you for putting a bit more effort into your articles. Substance over quantity.
  17. Exactly! Kind of like when Chip took over from Bellotti who had things progressing... Chip has found it much harder to build a team from scratch. I feel Riley will as well.
  18. I would say we tied the knot and we're traveling to the honeymoon. Now we need to cross that threshold and see if we're getting what we were dreaming of!
  19. It's been a few years since I've seen Autzen at capacity. I hope that changes this year. Conerly coming would sure help! But, either way it will be much closer than the Coliseum usually is.
  20. This sure seems to be the case. I was enthralled during his interview on signing day. It made me want to run through a wall for him..... and that's coming from a 52 year old with a titanium spine!
