Utah GameDay Thread: Is Pursuing the Playoffs a Crock?
DurangoJim replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
MC doesn’t know what to do when down. It’s 1-0 each play, even when you are down 28. Drives me crazy. -

Okay, I’m all in but the way we are playing tonight, the Beavs take us to task. I don’t want it, but the Ducks look like Stonybrook tonight. Oh, wait, I take that back - we look worse than Stonybrook. -

Absolutely no reason to not okay Ty. Browns style, even if firing on all cylinders can it score fast enough to make a come back work. MC is too stubborn to do it, so accept a 49-0 score and get on the bus. -

Bye bye PAC north. -
That may be true but we’ll see if MP stacks up for $$$ if and when a good team that throws picks him up and then, if then he makes the plays. I wish him well, either our O wasn’t the fit for him, or he isn’t that good. Maybe a bit of both. But he left pouting, and I don’t respect pouters. In any case I’m done with commenting on him. He’s not a Duck.

is this Ridiculous or is Football Really, Really Bad in the West?
DurangoJim replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
And that’s not a bad thing. -
I can only assume you never sat in the stands for Rich Brooks or Mike Bellotti games?
-
Well MP can always apply at WSU or UCLA for a wide out position and see where that gets him. Some catches yes, then watching the Bowl and PO games from his couch.

Looked like it to me too, but alas they didn’t hear my screams either. Should have been called a TD on the field, then reviewed it to confirm. It then couldn’t have been overturned due to no better view angles.

The whole broadcast was horrible. High school quality cameras, minimal replay views. (Well, maybe that was an improvement over last weeks too many?) Embarrassing! And yes, proper camera coverage might have helped overturn AB’ goal line “fumble”.

What Autzen and 9-1 Means to Coach Cristobal
DurangoJim replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Canzano has a great article this morning about the poor broadcast quality last night. ESPN went on the cheap - outdated eq trucks, contract min cameras, etc. He thought they went to commercial because they didn’t have the right replay cameras - pylon, etc so they had nothing to show. -
All good Ez, I hear your points. I’m just saying players mature at different times, maybe Herbert was a late bloomer despite coaching, maybe it’s exactly because of coaching. And to me, the media anymore is a blatantly biased propaganda tool for wherever the money or the inbred politics goes ….. Here’s to Herbert becoming a superstar!

This “rivalry” will never be over for me. I experienced agonizing defeat from the fall of 1975 when I stepped on campus for the first time up to the glorious day in the stands for the pick. Then some more back and forth to finally be in the drivers seat. Every day is an opportunity for a Husky fan to be arrogant and obnoxious. Pray the Ducks can kick their sorry puppy butt every time, forever!!

As an Architect I resent being associated with anything Lake!!!!
-
I’ll respectfully disagree with that. I think there have been plenty of hot shot college ball QB’s that went nowhere in the NFL. Johnny Football, RGIII, Colt McCoy, McCarron, Brennan, Leinhart, Tebow anyone? And of course those that shone in college and in the pros. Said another way, being a star in college ball doesn’t make you a star in the NFL, nor does being good-to-great limit your ability to shine in the pros. Maybe Justin’s skill is the type that needed a pro style fit to blossom. I wish for his success.

I’m in on Cristobal, he needs time. Things could be way worse. We could have a coach like smash-mouth (literally) Lake.

Agree with all points, nice post. I would specifically add: 8. We ran it down the Dawgs throats when we had to, and even when they knew it was coming. 9. Double down on the D stepping up. And if we get MckIII back we could be better. 10. And, of course …… did anyone see the Fuskies lost?!

Why am I pleased with the effort vs. UW but...

Agreed! And possibly soon to be #3?

Huskies have been taking shots for decades at the Ducks - IMO more than just rivalry, outright contempt and rudeness. I’ve been to 30+ Ducks/Dawg games over my life primarily due to living in Seattle for that long and I can say I have never heard the constant smart-ass vitriol from any other fan base. Including the Beavs. They HATE the Ducks, and HATE any Duck fan more. Of course that is not “all” fans as some have been good natured and good fans, but I’m guessing it’s 100 to 1 in my sampling. In ghosting the DawgPound site this morning, somehow a thread about Lake’s “incident” with his player, commentary got redirected to a Duck fan posting, and voila - all h3ll rains down on him and then all Duck fans. Incredible. We played good, bad and ugly last night, but it was inspired play and we hung in there and won the day, in tough conditions and an equally tough crowd environment (until most left early). A good day indeed. I think MC is all good by me for his comments to the team. HUCK THE FUSKIES Now, back to getting 1 - 0.
