  1. Yeah, Young can drive on pretty much any defender at any time, and has a nice shot. However, don't sleep on Will - we really need him if we're going to go anywhere this year. Will doesn't seem as quick but that's just because he's smooth. If he keeps up his 3 point shooting and further develops his leadership, I see at least a 2nd round NBA draft pick.
  2. Only because it's a home game, I think we have a chance to win. If Dante continues to play big (it looks like he's caught his wind now) and our 3 guards can whip the ball around and hit some shots, we're gonna do it! Looking forward to the Ducks finally putting it together.
  3. You know who is like Prichard? Jackson Shelstad (West Linn, Class of 2023) who recently committed to the Ducks for 2023. He's modeled himself after Pritchard and looks like he has the game and work ethic. We'll be alright at point guard in the coming years. Picture of Jackson as 5th grader with Payton:
  4. No, I do think Will is the leader and deserving of that position. He had been inconsistent up this early part of the season with good games followed by bad, but that's basketball. Even last night, I believe his 3's kept us in the game. I agree that he's no Prichard, but with his smooth game and shot, he comes close. He just has to develop a more killer mentality and not settle for a 3 for a game winner when the man can drive or pass off. It was just frustrating last night, that's all. As with all of Dana's teams, hopefully this team will get it together by the middle of the conference schedule and on into the postseason.
  5. Game tied, 10 seconds left on the shot clock and the best Dana could draw up is to waste some time dribbling and putting up a contested 3 by Richardson? You don't have to win by 3, drive the ball into the paint for a shot or a foul. Jacob Young was penetrating great at the end of the game. Why on earth would that not be the option? What is going on with this team? Dana, love you man, you are a great coach. But, this one is all on you - terrible last play call - own it.
  6. Man. You got off to a great start, I was nodding my head in agreement. And then, Gruden? We're trying to clean house of clowns, shysters, and downright racist, misogynistic, homophobes. We can do better. Come on home, Chip - we believe!
  7. You are exactly right. Listening to Staley's locker room speeches, after each Charger win or loss, made me respect this young HC like no other. Also, it was nice to see that Herbert is finally under the right guidance that could, not only showcase his talents, but make the team a contender for the next decade. Now, there's gotta be a similar young, smart, good-character coach out there. Mullens and the admin/boosters have their work cut out for them finding this next Staley for the Ducks!
  8. You make some good points but I dissent. You keep saying in your posts that Petersen has "lost his fire" and is "done". Link the source or provide a quote. This just sounds like your opinion, which you're entitled to, but you have no back up for it. Many top-tier coaches take a break from coaching for one reason or another and do television work. I just saying it might be worth exploring if he's interested as he checks all the boxes (Oregon ties, great X's and O's, good character guy). I'm a Cal and Oregon alum. I mostly follow the Ducks these days but keep an eye on my Bears. Wilcox if anything brings about a toughness in his teams (not the BS kind that MC preaches), especially on defense that I'd love to see on the Ducks. Cal, due to the academic standards, cannot get the players that Oregon can. Perhaps Wilcox falls short of MC in recruiting but with Oregon's level of talent, Wilcox will certainly exceed his "success" at Cal. Give him a few years and he can exceed MC's ceiling. You might be right about Chip - I may be longing for times past. However, unlike Slick Willie or MC, it was not a backstabbing situation (leaving for a similar or lower level school for more money). Chip had to give NFL a shot. If he's willing to listen, I would jump at the chance of experiencing his offensive genius again. Like someone else mentioned, imagine what he could do with TT next year. Bottom line, any of these 3 would be an upgrade in football acumen, "real" toughness, and character.
  9. A big "Hell no" to Meyer. That guys always sticks his finger where it doesn't belong.
  10. Agree with you 100%. MC leaving is a blessing in disguise. I do appreciate the stability and recruiting that Mario brought for the last few years - a 10-3 record is nothing to sneeze at. But watching the in-game coaching of this guy, especially this year, we were never going to get to the next level. The "toughness" mantra never really materialized. Let's move forward. Wilcox, Peterson, even today's Chip will be vast improvements in the coaching-up of players (not just the rah-rah aspects but the real X's and O's) and in-game performance. Thank you, Mario, buh bye.
  11. Good stuff. But every time I see how well Herbert is doing in the NFL, I curse how MC did not get the most out of him in college. Good riddance, Mario. Now get a coach who knows how to develop quarterbacks before Thompson starts thinking about transferring. We gotta know what we have, or at least try to discover what we have. What a wasted season.
  12. Mark my words though, we will not see it. MC is just too stubborn or just not so bright.
  13. For me, that will be the ultimate test. If MC starts AB again in the whatever low level bowl we go to, he does not have the foresight necessary for future success or really does not have the team's best interests at heart. Either way, we deserve a better coach. I don't care if we lose the game, TT has to start and start to get some experience. This whole season should have been about TT learning to be a major D1 quarterback, a la Stroud for Ohio State.
  14. We're not even getting smash mouth football. I don't know what this is. Just a identical game from 2 weeks ago - how do you not learn anything from such a debacle?
  15. So sick of this guy. Do not get in a bidding war with Miami over his services - it is fools gold. Think more about a buy out and trying to get Chris Petersen to come out of retirement - now there's a real coach we can get behind!
  16. Exactly, good riddance. MC reminds me of Jason Garrett (the clapper) - we don't need you to act like the caring coach whenever a player gets injured, going out on the field, showing his mighty concern. Man, just figure out a better game plan, the medical staff will take care of the player.
  17. No, Cristobal is too stubborn and will not admit that he was wrong about AB. He just has a mouth on him and will talk a good game about being tough but certainly is not adept enough cognitively to adjust to the game flow and make the necessary adjustments. How often do we see better head coaches put in the backup QB in a lopsided game, if only to give the struggling offense a shot in the arm? The beginning of the second half, with the Ducks getting the ball first, would have been the perfect time tonight to finally see TT (forget the redshirt, he's not here for 4 years anyway). Does AB have some compromising pictures of MC or something? Come on man, I'm done with this team until next year. Will focus on Ducks BB, with a real coach.
