  1. Agreed. "Daniel Kelly is a former NFL Scout with the New York Jets." Stop right there - I'm not gonna put too much credence into the exaggerated takes of a bitter-sounding scout who helped the New York Jets become the powerhouse that they are today.
  2. Thanks Charles, that was fun. Congrats to 1Ducker1! We really should have some kind of prizes next year.
  3. What a collection of poor character coaches to lead young men. If you're just a crappy person, that's fine, what can you do? But to pretend like you're this proper, by the book, fair, trust-worthy leader - come on, man! Scammy snake oil salesmen, it's going to be fun to watch. Mark my words, this thing implodes in just 2 years.
  4. "Cheaks cannot hold their smoke! That's what it is..."
  5. Former head coach reportedly joining Deion Sanders’ staff WWW.MSN.COM After many rumors and reports, Deion Sanders accepted the head coaching role with the Colorado Buffaloes this weekend. Now, it looks like he’s already filling his new staff with some experience... So now I'm reading that old Willie Taggart will be joining Deion Sanders at Colorado in some capacity. Man, this crap show just keeps getting better and better. Never liked Sanders as a player or human being - all flash and no substance. It's gonna be fun watching the slow disintegration of a once fine Pac 12 school.
  6. Man, what clickbait, "destroyed"? It was a good move, but no big deal, definitely not "destroyed." Looking forward to seeing KT this year, he'll be alright, above average.
  7. No, definitely a plus for the Ducks. I remember in one of the Colorado games this past season, a player was quietly lighting us up and wondering "who the heck is this guy?" Keeshawn is a smooth slasher and can shoot the 3's. Welcome, young man!
  8. No, Dillon definitely deserved the ejection and I hope he gets a hefty fine also. Love all my former Ducks, but this was a meathead play, striking a player in mid-leap hard on the head/side of face with the whole forearm area. Easily could have resulted in a bad injury to the neck/head; GPIII landed on his hip area and arm very awkwardly also. During the play, Dillon had just missed another 3. Don't take out your frustrations like that - it's just not worth it.
  9. Whoa...., I think this means that Will must be coming back?!
  10. You're right, that was a beautiful run-back (same 2012 season too, I believe). I guess we all do good and bad in life, it's just that one hurt so much. Anyway, hopefully Seven will produce many of your type of highlights this season!
  11. I need football smart with or without the ball. Look at the highlights of that play. Not gonna blame the whole loss on DAT, but man, we needed that touchdown. We went on to lose the game 14 - 17 in overtime and basically missed out on going to the national championship game that year.
  12. Seven sounds like a smart version of DAT. Hopefully we're able to use him in a similar way and have a wide-open attack. DAT was not the sharpest tool in the drawer - will never forget the non-block and running ahead of MM in the crucial Stanford game, NEVER!
  13. Yes, it's Bates. How definite is this, I wonder? I guess Dior would be in the know. Hoping for a last minute miracle.
  14. I still contend that the Celtics are not using Payton to the best of his ability (we here know what he's capable of). Boston still thinks he's just a 3 point shooter. He showed a good mid-range game last night. But his point guard abilities (ball handling, probing, drives to the basket, passing off) have not come close to being displayed. Initially, PP was deferring too much to Tatum and Brown (who lose the ball so frequently themselves), but I see them passing to PP a little more now. Smart is good because of his defense, but PP deserves more than 12-15 minutes a night.
  15. Assuming your list is correct, and everybody stays (Will, Dante, etc.), we could have a very good team with the following roster: 1. PG - Keeshawn Barthelemy (starter); Dior Johnson; Tyrone Williams 2. SG - Will Richardson (s); De'Vion Harmon; Brennan Rigsby 3. SF - Quincy Guerrier (s); Rivaldo Soares 4. PF - [???] (s); Nathan Bittle 5. C - N'Faly Dante (s); Kel'el Ware That's going 3 deep at the guard position! Now, if we can dream of filling the starting power forward position with You Know Who this week, we will certainly contend for the conference championship and perhaps more.
  16. If we can also get Emoni Bates, like I'm hearing some whispers about, now we're talking!
  17. Ok, that's interesting. I remember in one of the Colorado games last year, Barthelemy was killing us with his quickness and outside shooting. Good to know that we can raid some other Pac 12 teams too.
  18. Yeah, I heard about Mookie Cook and our 2023 commits sound like they're gonna be exciting. Is Cook really that big? If yes, nice! I mentioned a few months ago that point guard Jackson Shelstad is also coming in 2023. He might be the second-coming of Payton Pritchard (see old picture of them together). Good times are a coming, Duck fans - just hold on tight!
  19. Do we really want a replacement for Kepnang? He was good guy and could block some shots while bring great enthusiasm. But Dante, Bittle, and Ware should be more than enough 6'11" to 7' big guys who can rebound with limited offensive games. What we really need is a stout 6'7" - 6'8" forward with some heft and good hands, along the lines of Eugene Omoruyi, Shakur Juiston, or Elgin Cook, who can drive inside and finish around the rim. Hopefully Dana will surprise us with the signing of this kind of player.
  20. Boy, I like the sound of that. If Dior can just handle the ball and distribute, it will better facilitate Will and De'Vion's skills and make them better shooting guards. Add to that the other couple of guards coming in via transfer (hopefully good shooters), and the outside game can actually open up the middle for Dante, Bittle, and Ware. Getting excited just thinking about it.
  21. Not too sure about that. How was De'Vion a problem when his attitude was good and, in post-game interviews, was often touting effort and team chemistry? I don't think we have to worry about him "pouting" on the bench. We do NOT have plenty of shooting guards (already here or coming in) that are proven "shot makers" and not just "shot takers" as Dana has stressed. Sure, he can be a streaky shooter, but that is the nature of shooters and shooting in general. On this team, De'Vion, was one of the few guys (except for Jacob Young) who could both drive to the basket and shoot the three with any consistency. In today's college game, outside shooting is crucial and De'Vion, especially when open, knocked them down at a good clip (37% on threes). I think it's a matter of adding more good shooters, not addition by subtraction because he's a "part of the problem."
  22. I like it! Sounds like we might be getting Devin Carter as a transfer then. Dana said we needed a lot more shooting. Stay tuned...
  23. I think this is definitely a positive. Altman said the players did not have a very good summer last year. With a full year as a Duck under his belt, maybe De'Vion will be more comfortable and hopefully take more of a leadership role next season.
  24. Man, I wish I saw this clip earlier. The last 5 minutes of this Texas A&M post-game (starting at the 12:00 minute point) shows why we have the coach we need in Altman - the man tells it like it is. "I had to chase Dillon [Brooks] out of the gym, we have a game tomorrow.... I didn't have to chase anybody out of the gym this year." This explains a lot about our unsatisfying season this year. Here's hoping that Dior and Ware are gym rats and everybody else buys in into improving themselves in the offseason and fall. See ya, I'm gonna go outside and work on my shot right now.
