I agree with you Charles. The first quarter will tell us if the team arrived in Phoenix with the desire to dominate or are just taking it as a business trip. Before the Colorado trip many of us were concerned if Oregon would respond to this new Prime coached team. The Buffalos and Prime were getting all the love. Never fear my Duck buddies, Coach Lanning had the Ducks ready. I think Coach Lanning learned a valuable lesson after the championship game. I trust he will have our Ducks prepared. Game Day! I always like having Pac-12 teams win their Bowl games. The left coast teams deserve respect. I don't like USC when we compete against them. However, the national reputation for the Pac-12 needs to be hammered. Especially this season when the conference had so many good teams.

Don, thank you for your perspective on Our Beloved Ducks. Back in the 70's, if someone had said some day the Ducks will be National Champs, we would've asked, "What are you smoking?" Now we're looking at the possibility. Look at us now! Multiple Pac-10/Pac-12 championships. Two times in the Championship game and a Heisman winner. Back then a season record of 9-3 would've been cause for a parade down Willamette St., across the Ferry St. bridge to Autzen stadium. I agree with your appreciation of the OBD Forum. After reading your analysis, Mr. Whitty, I have to agree. Thank you for writing this well presented explanation. The only fair thing in the future is to go to a 16 team bracket. I know next year will be a 12 team bracket. 12 is so much better than 4. However, there will possibly be just as much controversy about which teams get the top four spots and a first round bye. Include 4 more teams and make everyone play a first round game. "Just win" your games and ranking doesn't matter. No one has an advantage by resting the first round. I won't hold my breath. Will the NCAA do anything that makes sense!

QB Dillon Gabriel is an exciting addition to the Ducks. His dynamic upside also brings risk. Which in turn raises the importance of having a good backup. Getting the #2 QB meaningful game reps with the starters is important. Maybe something like Coach Locklyn does with the running backs. (Some, maybe not as much.) Bring in a Dante Moore for a scripted series utilizing his skill set. Then adding more as he learns Coach Stein 's offense. So much to ponder! Thanks again David for giving so much to OBD Forum.

Thompson was given a chance every day in practice. Thompson was not recruited by Lanning. Thompson is a good person. Thompson made improvements. I trust in Coach Lanning and Coach Stein.

Watch the video in 0.5 speed. #74 Steven Jones RG and #55 Marcus Harper RT fake a double team and proceed to the left. Jones becomes part of the convoy and Harper turns back to take care of the pursuit. Coach Terry is doing a fine job with the offensive line. This Oregon staff is blending well and will get better.

So much going on. I love it! This was my favorite play of the year when you wrote about the five top plays. The defense has to make adjustments with so much going on. Advantage offense. I like that if a defense is prepared to take away the running game or to take away the short crossing routes this play burns them. Don't we love Coach Will Stein's creative offense. No, Oregon did not fail TY Thompson. He had time to prove himself in practice. Everyone could see his deer in the headlights performances. The star ratings of high school players is flawed in favor of those who can attend camps and impress with measurements loosely associated with football. Even 7 on 7 competitions do not account for the intense pressure of full contact football where the QB can be hit. The mental aspects of the game, decision making, and the ability to see the field at college speed is more important. Coach Lanning and staff recruit as many good athletes as possible at each position. They are not given a starting position. They have to earn it. I wish Ty Thompson the best at his next school.

Seems like he will be good at throwing Will Stein Bird Bombs. Strong arm. I think he'll play like a Vern Adams or a young Russell Wilson. I also like that when he scrambles he is still looking to throw and does make completions. Great addition to our Ducks. Are any of his receivers available?

I agree, Alex, that phenomenal pass by Bo Nix was great. Especially since it was against our state rival the Beavers! Thanks for writing your article today. Too many exciting plays to just choose one. On defense I would go with the harassment of ex duck Shough and the pick six that saved our victory against Texas Tech. But I think my favorite was the screen to Herbert with 900+ lbs of blockers leading the way. Especially with the finish line lean by Jackson Powers Johnson! So much fun! Go Ducks! I agree with Haywarduck and others. They make great points. I'm thankful and grateful for Coach Lanning and his staff. The Ducks have been exciting and much improved over the previous staff. I offer one new look at last night's game. If I put myself in the shoes of a Husky player or coach and I'm 12 - 0. I'm ranked #3 in the nation. And the media, the oddsmakers, and the whole world says the Ducks are going to beat you. Then I would be pissed and highly motivated to prove everyone wrong. Give a team of great players major motivation and you get what you saw. Our Ducks stumbled at the start of the game. They fell behind, but they fought back. They never gave up. I'm proud of Our Beloved Ducks!

Give credit to the Husky coaches. Oregon schemes to take away the deep throws. Washington was prepared to take the short quick routes and run more. Great game between two great teams!

I had a similar experience this afternoon waiting for my pizza at Papa Murphy's. The husky fan was a senior citizen like me. He didn't have any purple game wear on. He recognized me as a Duck fan (Black Oregon hoodie) and said he was a husky fan. We wished each other a good game. Then he said, " I do like Bo Nix. He's having a good year." I agreed and picked up my pizza and left. Imagine my surprise - a good interaction with a Washington Husky. I'm taking it as a good omen for the Ducks!

I have always wanted the opposing quarterback to be hit. I wanted him to hear footsteps the whole time worried about the hit. Hit Penix every pass attempt. I agree totally with everything you say Mr. FishDuck. Let the havoc reign! Go Ducks!

I totally agree with your article Charles. When you said, "...the Beavis is also one of four schools that had overriding powers to hire: Lounge Suit Lawrence Scott." I thought OSU President Ray was "champagne" Larry's biggest enabler. The extravagant moves by commissioner Scott the beginning of the end of the Pac-12.
