Lanning admitted he learned a lot in his first season, including what it takes to be a head coach at a program like Oregon and how it’s not always easy to make the right decisions. “I think you learn lessons every every year,” Lanning told assembled media on Wednesday. “It takes the right person, you know, to come here and be in Oregon, right? Oregon Legacy Akili Smith Jr. Discusses Ducks Offer Will Stein and the Ducks recently extended an offer to a big-time Oregon legacy. Smith towers over most at 6'6" and 205 pounds. The first play I saw from him was a beautiful deep pass down the sideline that was turned into a touchdown. He already has seven reported offers including Michigan, Miami, Arizona and Fresno State. "Super excited cause obviously my dad went there," he said of getting offered by Stein and the Ducks. "He's always shown me Oregon and all that. Had me watch the games and stuff.
