  2. SEASON IN REVIEW: OL OREGON RETURNED A VETERAN OFFENSIVE LINE IN 2022, AND THAT EXPERIENCE WAS THE FOUNDATION FOR ONE OF THE BEST UNITS IN THE COUNTRY. The Ducks returned an enviable amount of experience for the 2022 season, and boy, did it show. Oregon led the nation with just five sacks allowed this past fall, tied for 10th in the country by averaging four tackles for loss allowed per game, and was sixth in the FBS in rushing with 5.52 yards per carry. The five sacks were the fewest allowed by an FBS team that doesn't run a triple-option offense since 2015. All of that success contributed to the Ducks being a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award, presented annually to the nation's most outstanding offensive line. He comes to the Ducks at a major position of need, and is the second safety that the team has added via the portal this offseason. The former Rebel plays more of a nickel safety position, rather than free safety, which is not something that the Ducks have much of on the current roster. 9. ESPN analyst Greg McElroy believes Oregon is heading in the right direction under Lanning. Stacking talent is how any program is going to have continued success. Lanning knows firsthand, being the defensive coordinator for Georgia and helping head coach Kirby Smart put together some monster recruiting classes. Lanning is trying to replicate the feat out west with Oregon and got off to a solid start with the 2023 cycle. McElroy also points out landing national recruits could have been difficult for the Ducks with the future of the Pac-12 hanging in the balance. “Lanning goes out, lands the No. 8 recruiting class in the country,” McElroy said... 11. The state of Oregon's CB room following the portal window's closing Christian Gonzalez acts as the only corner to leave the program since the season's conclusion. The other six scholarship corners all remain on the roster. Trikweze Bridges started opposite of Gonzalez all season. Dontae Manning notably started the Holiday Bowl. Jahlil Florence pushed Manning for reps all season, and will look to do so again. Also back are Darren Barkins, Avante Dickerson and Jalil Tucker. None of those three played regularly with Barkins' 29 snaps tops among them. Alabama transfer Khyree Jackson is the lone portal addition and will push for a starting spot right away. The Ducks also signed four high school corners in December. Daylen Austin, a top 150 recruit, is the group's headliner after flipping from LSU. He is joined by fellow four-star Cole Martin, Demetrice Martin's son, along with three-star prospects Solomon Davis and Collin Gill. Davis and Gill both have the positional versatility to play other positions on defense. Austin, Davis and Gill have yet to enroll. 13. Oregon men’s basketball in search of improved, consistent effort On paper Oregon is only one-and-a-half games out of second place in the Pac-12 with 11 games to play — more than enough to climb the ranks of the weakest power conference in the country and keep its postseason hopes alive. But what’s on paper doesn’t remotely tell the story of this Ducks team, which is coming off its worst loss of the season at Stanford and is 60th in NET only because its losses to the Cardinal and Utah Valley are momentarily higher than they will be by the end of the season. Oregon men’s basketball in search of improved, consistent effort WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM Similar to 2018-19, the Ducks are desperate for wins entering a critical six-game stretch, beginning Thursday night (6 p.m...

The Ducks go into the final weekend of January with 11 regular season games left to play, and they are not even remotely close to being on the NCAA Tournament bubble. "We've got to keep grinding. 15. How would the conference know that they have been overpaid if they didn't have access to the distribution data from Comcast? Wouldn't it be reasonable for the conference to think that Comcast's payments were correct if that was the case? These business dealings seem very sloppy to me. I just can't fathom why it has taken Comcast so long to figure this out? However, our conference employees aren't without blame here too. I find it hard to believe Larry Scott wasn't knee deep in this.
  16. WATCH: Dana Altman looking for consistency and better effort ahead of Colorado Oregon head men's basketball coach Dana Altman met with the Oregon media ahead of the team's upcoming home swing this week against Colorado on Thursday and Utah on Saturday. The Ducks are looking to bounce back from a disappointing road loss at Stanford Saturday night and, at the same time, play much better against a Colorado team that blew the Ducks out the last time they met earlier this year. Altman spoke about how the team is getting ready for the matchup and what the Ducks need to do better to win this time around.
