Dan Lanning calls Will Stein 'a perfect fit' as Oregon's offensive coordinator Lanning, who had not spoken publicly since Stein's hiring earlier this month, described the process of determining the next OC as "really thorough" and "really detailed". Past hires have been reached in part thanks to prior relationships between head coach and prospective new staffer. However, Lanning and Stein have no previous relationship. Lanning never allowed that to become an obstacle though. Ducks turn in defensive masterpiece in dominant win over Eastern Washington In an overwhelming 88-38 win over Eastern Washington on Thursday, Oregon turned in perhaps its best defensive performance of the season, holding the upset-hopeful Eagles to just 13-for-61 shooting from the field to improve to 8-1. “We showed at the end of that Beaver game that we can defend when we really want to and need to,” head coach Kelly Graves said during midweek press availability. “We’ve just got to make that more consistent.” Ducks turn in defensive masterpiece in dominant win over Eastern Washington 247SPORTS.COM Ducks turn in defensive masterpiece in dominant win over Eastern Washington

Three Double-Doubles Highlight Win Grace VanSlooten, Phillipina Kyei and Endyia Rogers each had a double-double Thursday as Oregon beat Eastern Washington, 88-38. Though the final margin of victory was impressive, Oregon's 45.5 percent shooting was actually below the Ducks' season average of 47.9 percent from the floor. All the missed shots and the teams' combined 22 turnovers led to a somewhat disjointed pace at times, and the Ducks were content but not overjoyed with how they played. "I'm glad we got a victory; we did some really good things tonight," UO coach Kelly Graves said. "It just didn't seem like anybody, including the coaches, was having a whole lot of fun out on the court.
