It acts as the lowest total for the position group since Chip Kelly took over in 2009. Over the final 10 games of the season, the group didn't even score a touchdown. The new offense wants to utilize the position more in the passing game. That was brought up by all three tight ends we spoke with on Wednesday. "The tight end as a whole is more of a threat downfield," Matavao said. "We want to get mismatches and outrun some linebackers. So we'll be involved in the passing game a lot more". Oregon players as a whole raved about the addition of speed coach Jawarski Beckum. Matavao says he's had to relearn how to run at full speed and in doing so realizes certain important muscle groups had been left essentially dormant before. "You can see it too.
